Wow! Im a 42 year old white dude that grew up in an all white town of only 5k people in the midwest. Even in our environment we all grew up on Pac, Big, Bone Thugs, snoop, dre, wu tang, Eazy, and countless other rappers from both east and west coast (and dirty south south). There were 2 things you needed to be cool in my hick town, know every word to Eddie Murphys Delrious stand up and it was already like 15 years old and every word to the boyz in the hood. In the last 16 years I don't even listen to rap anymore because it's not what I remember true rap to be. KENDRICK to me is by far the best rapper of this generation!!! He single handedly brought me back into rap with his sound and lyrics. Appreciate this man because he's an ALL TIME GREAT!!! I still constantly look for newer music so I'm not some (back in my day everything was better) type dude. I also like Denzel Curry, JID, obviously the god Eminem himself but it's so hard to find truly great music in all genres in the last 15 years because it all molded together. Country is mostly pop, rap is mostly pop there's just not much of a distinction between artists or genres. Every rapper for the last 15 years proudly uses autotune and for whatever reason that popular. To me K dot will go down as one of the greatest rappers in history

Literally didn't have a black person in our town but there were 2 things EVERYONE KNEW AND LOVED and it was West coast rap and Ediie Murphy Ran and delirious 🤣🤣🤣 We could all recite every word to Eddie's two standups and listen to nothing bit rap. Bone was probably the most popular and this was before crossroads came out and everyone got on it. We got so deep we were listening to BONE ENTERPRISE as like 12 years Olds. I was just thinking while riding along with everyone with the video and song and yes, I'm from Compton, Kelly Park for those who know, now that it's slowing down a little, we must keep Kendrick safe from the powers that be, because this song is more than just a Diss, it's a song of Uniting people of color, and as you know our leaders that brought our people together with a message for unity, Medger, Martin, Malcolm, Black Panther Party, Tupac, Nipsey, and many others who saw the struggle of the culture being torn apart internally and externally, and they were removed by forces again internally and externally, so before, during and after this song Not Like Us is over let's keep KDot protected so that he doesn't become, Just Like Them.

I love everything about this video, especially having Tommy the Clown and the T Squad at the forefront!!! Tommy is essential to the fabric of LA and has helped so many kids, no matter what part of LA (especially South Central). To see them in a video of this magnitude gives Tommy and the squad to really show their battle skills!!! Just like K. can bring all the sets together, so does Tommy!

Yo it’s crazy you mention the yugioh cards because I was at a big ass tournament in the Bay Area and the song Not Like Us had dropped and you know I was playing that shit off my phone in the venue. So random player heard it and started giggin with me and in the middle of it I asked him “where are you from?” “Compton” “Oh shit! Im from LBC!” Happiest yugioh moment of my life.

He may be nominated for song of the year and record of the year but they will give it to a white artist in the end like they do every year. One of the best parts is the crowd of people arent just black folks. You got whites, latinos and even a couple asians. Kendrick didnt just unify the hiphop crowd, he unified groups of people across all ages and music tastes. I work with a couple guys that are pure death metal heads and have this song in their spotify. He did something that hasnt been done since dre, if ever. Amazing
