ITS ABOUT TIME! "WISH YOU WERE HERE" PINK FLOYD-Full Album Reaction/Review
Pink Floyd are known for being one of the greatest rock bands of all time. With some timeless classics which I have many people recommend to me over my life. Ive decided to start my journey with "Wish You were Here" and im really exited to share this one with you all. Im a huge fan of instrumentals that feel as though the evolve throughout the song, and from I had been told pink Floyds music was gonna be gonna be something I really enjoyed.
My name is Jack and I love music, in particular Hip Hop, I decided to make this channel as a way to engage with other music lovers and because there doesn't seem to be a lot of reaction channels on KZread...My goal has always been to be open to all types of music regardless of my love of Hip Hop, on this channel you can expect a rich array of genres. If you're keen to join me on my music journey then please subscribe, if you ever want to give your thoughts on an album or song that I have reacted to, then please do. I want this channel to be a community and if you love music of any genre then welcome!!!

And you can add Medle to that one as well, though for the most part it is due to that one very long but very iconic track, that is sitting alone on the B side…

Meddle is my favourite one just cuz of echoes

How can you leave out Meddle? They hit their stride on that one and didn't slow down through The Wall.

And if you take Meddle and Darkside and blend them together, you get Obscured By Clouds.
Fun (and sad) fact: at 20:31 the notes on synth that can be heard just before 'Shine On You Crazy Diamond (parts 6-9)' ends are a call back to an early Pink Floyd single 'See Emily Play' (released in 1967) which was the Floyd's first big hit. The particular lyrics it quotes in those notes is "Emily tries but misunderstands". This was a small addition from Richard Wright (the keyboardist) paying his tribute to Ex Pink Floyd band mate Syd Barrett, whom the song 'shine on you crazy diamond' (to which the words Shine, You and Diamond are an acronym for Syd) is dedicated to or more or less the album (Wish You Were Here) as a whole.
This album is a glorious lament. Beautiful. A work of absolute perfection.

Had so much fun taking it all in. Truly a masterful piece of work
The keyboardist, Richard Wright, is an underrated member of PF.
Love Pink Floyd since I was 12 and now that I’m 60 I love them even more. Keep listening to their amazing music. Great reaction ❤

Thank you! Will do! Really appreciate the kind words
My personal favorite album of their's (and honestly maybe of all time) is Animals. Besides two short bookend tracks, it's pretty much just 3 large behemoths that go in so many different musical directions, each telling the same story just from different perspectives in society

Im very keen to check out Animals!
I was watching the radiohead series and saw this. It is one of my favorite albums ever. I love the experimental nature of both bands.

Both bands are truly incredible and revolutionary.
You have to listen to Animals and the Dark Side of the Moon Animals is of a similar ‘sandwich’ structure to WYWH and is probably my favourite Pink Floyd album DSOTM is just filled with so many incredible individual pieces, but the transitions are equally amazing here

Unreal! Keen to check out more of their work soon that's for sure!
Surprised you're not bigger with such great production quality and insight to the songs you listen to! And I can tell you genuinely enjoy it too. Keep up the good shit, bro. My suggestion to you is my favorite Queens of the Stone Age album "...Like Clockwork". Beautiful soundscapes and themes all around.

Iceland band Sigur Ros also uses space in their music. Your reactions lead me to believe they’d be a musical vibe for you. Their second album is the entry point.

Yes!!!! That album is a must listen.
Cool reaction to a masterpiece from one of the most important and influential bands in music history. Imagine following up Dark Side of the Moon with something as good, very few bands would even dream of doing this level brilliance.

I just love watching someone experience Pink Floyd songs for the first time. I’ve been listening to them since 1971. So that experience is long gone for me.

I don't know why, but I feel connected to the cover of this album! By the way, the photograph of the man on fire was taken at Warner Studios in Hollywood. Two Hollywood stuntmen are called for the photo shoot, Ronnie Rondell (the burning man) and Danny Rogers. Rondell is dressed in a flame retardant suit and a helmet topped with a wig. Aubrey Powell is in charge of the shots and had planned several takes but a strong wind will compromise his plans, bringing down the flames on the face of the stuntman. The latter refuses to start over and only a handful of photos result from the project.

You HAVE to do Dark side of the moon man!! Also let that play through to each song it's incredible a real journey 🤩🔥
I'm so keen for you to keep exploring Pink Floyd's other albums. This was a great time.
You have to do Dark Side Of The Moon from start to finish then Animals (with lyrics), and The Wall. They are all masterpieces.

Thank you for your comment and kind words Music is so powerful
I know I’m late but this is my all time favorite album and seeing someone enjoy it just as much as I do is awesome
Something incredible is the last few notes of the very end of Shine On You Crazy Diamond were put in by Rick Wright and their part of one of Syd Barrett's main songs I think "See Emily Play" or it may have been "Bike" & if I'm wrong regarding which song I hope someone corrects me! Also about the genius of Roger Waters lyrics and writing he got Syd's name in the form of an acronym into the album as follows: (S)hine on (Y)ou crazy (D)iamond The main point of the whole album according to Roger Waters is absence, dealing with absence and loss! And as you might know by now the loss and absence of their dear friend Syd Barrett! But they made sure he got every dime from anything sold with his name attached to it and they took absolutely great care of him the rest of his life until 2006!

15:45 Everyone deserves a good cry to Wish You Were Here. Glad to see it touch your soul. Hey, let’s do Rush Caress of Steel next, mate. From the same year 1975. The Necromancer and Fountain of Lameth are insane tracks.
For bonus fun, _WYWH_ syncs up with _Blade Runner_ - just line up the 4-note guitar chime w/the opening "eye shot". Then start "Wish You Were Here" at the tunnel/driving chapter.

In my top 3 albums of all time. Easily.
Since you are already familiar with Comfortably Numb, you will probably enjoy the LIVE performance from the PULSE CONCERT (1994). The extended guitar solo and spectacular light show combine for an unforgettable performance.

that´s the right way to do floyd. there´s at least 4 albums to consume like this. chronologically: 1) dark side of the moon 2) wish you were here 3) animals 4) the wall .............. and here´s additional sensations: 1) echoes live in pompeii 1972 2) comfortably numb live pulse 1994 ... and then there´s more 🙃

Unfortunately, he'll receive copyright strikes, and the video will be taken down by the KZread algorithm if he does it any other way. This is how great reaction videos are done. Jack's one of the best and has a genuine love for music and a great feel for rhythm and the subtleties of composition and performance. This was an enjoyable reaction to a truly magnificent album.

Wrong, Pink Floyd doesn't pull for copyright. Watched many others, full album. Nothing against his reviews for himself, just as a longtime fan, as many others, can't get into it with the skipping, just aggravates the hell out of most floydians!
Why these jumps in the song? If the song is too long for you, don't show it at all just to get clicks. A big minus for you.
