Even though you have ITP Your Immune system attacks virus and bacteria like any other normal person. It functions normally. Some times in viral infections there can be drop in patelet counts, but not always.

I am also suffering from ITP for past 6 yrs and undergone treatment in Apollo used medicines like steroids and revolade but of no use.. my doctor suggested me for splenectomy.. went for second opinion also there they suggested not opt splenectomy.. don't know wat to do.. is this a life time disease..
