Not considering wanting to change characters, the actual truth for DMG gain is: For Akkan gear (costs always with already having the shards, but not the leaps / stones / orehas): Level 7 Gems (not having lvl 7s is trolling) > Honing with bound mats >>>> Weapon to +13 14 15 16 17 > Armor to +13 14 15 > Lvl 9 DMG Gems > honing Akkan weapon to +18 19> Armor to +14+15 > Legendary Skin > armor to 17 etc. > Lvl 9 CD gems (unless needed for specific rotations) Lvl 8 DMG Gems would be somewhere after +15 weapon, but most people just skip them unless they roll perfectly to save silver (can obviously use them if you got big piles of silver). If we aren't talking transformation classes or surge / master summoner / barrage, especially level 10 gems are very unlucrative. You should not aim for level 10 gems before 1620. Even investing 50 k into a single LOS selector from weekly challenge dungeon might be worth more than level 10 gems. Also stays with you forever unless you want to sell your gold for real money one day. In terms of least tight commitment, gems are obviously the no 1. Also, you should not compare 1600 with full lvl 9 gems to 1600 with lvl 7 gems. You should compare 1610 with 3 lvl 9 gems to 1600 with full 9s. Most of the time 3 skills deal 60-90% of your dmg, the other gems are not as important, and this is the average price. The other thing, if you are in a static and people know you deal dmg even with lvl 7 gems, most new raid systems will give you an insanely bigger push in DPS than full lvl 10 gems and +25 weapon can give. Perfect elixirs are easy +20% dmg. Therefore pushing to at least the NM version of the raid is more important than upgrading gems. There is not a single NM raid right now that requires any gems, and lvl 7 gems are more than fine. There is not a single HM raid that requires more than lvl 7 gems aswell UNTIL we reach Thaemine HM. Thaemine NM is also easily clearable with lvl 7 gems.

So i came back to LA after nearly 2y and I'm watching few of ur videos trying to get up to date quick. What should i focus on/check out asap as a coming back adventurer? I abandoned the game after Valtan, before Vykas release, 1470 gear with lvl7 gems and 4x3 engravings on main everything after Valtan i missed

If you only have 1 character focus on pushing it to 1540 and then you can plan on 1580 once you learn the raids until 1540. Your gems are fine as lvl 7 for all the content and also focus on Deep Dive 30 cards.

Item level only lasts so long, eventually you'll have to upgrade to the next gear set and start the grind all over. I know people that have had the same level 10s since valtan launch 😂 (unless they dick us and release t4 somehow)

Also if you wanna slow roll your character progression you can slowly level up your gems overtime while increasing item lvl. I also think getting your 5x3 is just as important. I also have a buddy that has 2 characters with no gems period and he constently gets mvp.

​​@@francisryangonzales6201Probably guardians and cubes if I had to guess. My 5x3 SE with no gems rarely isnt mvp on those but put her in and actual raid and its jover. Some people dont play to do more than just that. Its rare with the state of the game but more power to them if they're gettin satisfaction from that content

oh well, i still get gatekeep for being in jump-start server even tho i use lvl 9 gems on ilvl content with deep dive 30 (back then) now i have los18 in this roster and ready to be gatekeep due to no los30. also, most ppl don't understand dd30 is 2-3% stronger than los18 in content that has no weakness.

Well that depends on support. If supp has lwc30 then i would always pick los18

@@Joske0000 lwc30 give 3.5% while yhap 30 is 1.5%, it's really depends on raid and class condition but generally dd30 on yhap30 kinda equal to los18 and lwc30 for no weakness content.

Gems always and forever. This isn't even a debate lmao, ilvl by itself has been absolute dogshit in terms of player power since 1490, it's all about gems, cards, set lvl, bracelet and eventually elixirs and transcendence.
