And now it's 2021 and I'm still an enormous fan of this timeless classic piece... 3 years since I discovered it and since then, not a single week went by without at least playing it ONCE... but in many, many weeks I played it numerous times... luckily KZread can't wear out, would this song have been on a record, it would LONG have been reduced to... powder or something?

I really love this video, i watch it over and over again. 🤪🔈🔊🎹🎧
Do you see the box under the SH-101? It is a Simmons SDSV (triggered by the TR-808 in this video). I don't use samples, I use the real things ;) I didn't have Koto in mind, was just jamming with a typical italo melodic line, but yes, I see it's similar

Yes, thank you, with the SDSV is very easy to come up with interesting sounds, simply turn the knobs until you find a cool sound - it can do anything from synare disco booings, to italo toms, to metal / industrial, to realistic drums :)

where is the wonderful music that takes me back to when discos were the best time in the 80s
Love this! I wish Italo-disco had been more well known in the U.S.
This sound was also popular in France back in 1984. Lots of italian artists were played on the radios with songs written in this style.
wow. that's how i remember italian disco back in the 80s. nice.
That exaggerated snare drum! Classic!
Man, why do I dig this Old school 80’s disco beat and sound so much? I have no idea why but this is my Jam! They say you shouldn’t live in the past and be nostalgic but when i hear this is, I say screw the present! I like the past better and I’m going back! Thanks for recreating it and bringing that 80’s Era Sound back!
All these years later, and this still sounds fantastic
Best 80s Italo disco sound...after the 80s ending!
Mid 1980s electronic sound is my favorite, i love it more than italo house.

Me too..and this is because after 1987 the music is gone in Digital. The music shops was full of CD's. Only the used synths after '87 are analog. But today.....there is a return of analog sound...
3:00 Wooooow!!! It really takes you to mid 1980's
Italia, 2022 - sono qui ad ascoltare e nella mente scorrono le immagini della spensierata estate 1984. Sei un grande!
It's year 2021 now but I still have to choke the arpeggiator button with a piece of folded paper on my Roland System-8. So nothing has changed since those great Italo Disco days yet.
The Jupiter-8 is "at the doctor" at the moment for a small power supply problem, should be back soon
This is Italo Disco how it sounded like. Great educational AND fun to listen video. Thank you.
That Juno 60 sound is amazing, almost sounds like a vocoder is on there!

Paolo, it was exactly THIS video and your beautiful music that made me decide to buy my first piece of classic gear: a real, original, minty TR-808! On to the next, a Juno-60!
Bravo! Beautiful sound from 80's
i like this guy and his music. daje forte frá.
A true hardware sound. Love that. Thank you Paolo!
Awesome sounds! Reminds me very much of Koto - Visitors.

Yes, one of the readers here, 100DollarHeadache I think mentioned using tape to hold it down - I never thought of it :D I don't like to ruin a synth's surface, but I used the "console tape" that I had from American Recorder Technologies and it's PERFECT to hold down the button indefinitely, and doesn't ruin the surface of the synth :)
I was the one to suggest taping the SH-101's transpose button all those years ago. I'm surprised to see so many people think this song's too slow. I prefer the slower Italo Disco over the faster Hi-NRG and Eurobeat.

Thank you for suggesting it, 100DollarHeadache! I also prefer the slower tempos a la Valerie Dore... but I think many people are not familiar with the genre and think it should be faster. Back in the day in Italy they had both - slower and faster songs.
awesome tune, loove this music. Thank you!
Hey Synthman this is the best style of music ever. i dont know why this music isnt still in vogue its just the best. love that synthbrass and those deep simmonsV drums best tones ever best style ever.... love it!

Indeed, that was the part that immediately grabbed my attention too! I had to suppress the urge to turn the volume up to eleven :-)
You know how to make an 80's man happy!
Grande, questi sono i suoni che mi hanno accompagnato durante la scuola media! Gli Alphaville erano la colonna sonora delle mie estati adolescenziali!
Seeing this, I want to do this too :) We had a juno60 at school, but never a chance to do something like this. btw born in 1984. I am listening to Italo a lot since 2004, thanx to internet and the ones who keep it alive.

Cool! I began listening electronic music in 1984, roughly. Had no contacts but radio. And school disco :) In the moments like this I miss my Juno-106. But I sold it for two good reasons. I'll be also doing studio music videos one day. Oh, I actually wanted just say it's really nice to find younger italo lovers :)
excellent job, as always! love this italo dance style!!

I wished I lived where you lived as a teenager. I would've loved the music. I grew up listening to Chicago house music in the early/mid 80's. I can recall the influence of disco Italia in some of the music. Love your channel!
Thats the sound I grew up with and played as a DJ...
Fossimo negli anni 80 questa sarebbe una hit , è spettacolare
