    And now it's 2021 and I'm still an enormous fan of this timeless classic piece... 3 years since I discovered it and since then, not a single week went by without at least playing it ONCE... but in many, many weeks I played it numerous times... luckily KZread can't wear out, would this song have been on a record, it would LONG have been reduced to... powder or something?

    Do you see the box under the SH-101? It is a Simmons SDSV (triggered by the TR-808 in this video). I don't use samples, I use the real things ;) I didn't have Koto in mind, was just jamming with a typical italo melodic line, but yes, I see it's similar

    Yes, thank you, with the SDSV is very easy to come up with interesting sounds, simply turn the knobs until you find a cool sound - it can do anything from synare disco booings, to italo toms, to metal / industrial, to realistic drums :)

They say you shouldn’t live in the past and be nostalgic but when i hear this is, I say screw the present! I like the past better and I’m going back! Thanks for recreating it and bringing that 80’s Era Sound back!

    Yes, one of the readers here, 100DollarHeadache I think mentioned using tape to hold it down - I never thought of it :D I don't like to ruin a synth's surface, but I used the "console tape" that I had from American Recorder Technologies and it's PERFECT to hold down the button indefinitely, and doesn't ruin the surface of the synth :)

    I was the one to suggest taping the SH-101's transpose button all those years ago. I'm surprised to see so many people think this song's too slow. I prefer the slower Italo Disco over the faster Hi-NRG and Eurobeat.

  • @SynthManiaDotCom

    @SynthManiaDotCom

    2 жыл бұрын

    Thank you for suggesting it, 100DollarHeadache! I also prefer the slower tempos a la Valerie Dore... but I think many people are not familiar with the genre and think it should be faster. Back in the day in Italy they had both - slower and faster songs.
