The only thing that makes black and Italian Americans similar is their swagger and aggressive attitude.

This highlights that we SHOULD in theory get along, but in reality for the main part don't. There is a long history of Italian racism and violence towards Black people. Chubb Rock immortalised in the tune 'Treat em Right' what Italians were doing in NYC when he mentioned Yusef Hawkins murder.

Italy and most southern European countries are only a swim away from Africa so, it's highly possible they somehow got together and don't forget the Arabs were conquering a d reached all the way to Austria.

Damn! I don't even know what race I should put down on all these forms. LOL, My Father and Mother are both from southern Italy. My Dad was from Foggia and my Mom was from Abruzzo. Now here's the kicker, my mother was half Black. My parents had 12 of us kids and some are darker complected than other but all of us have olive color skin. We lost our mother in a house fire and our dad raised us, and at the time of my Mom's death us kids were 1 year old to 17 years old it was very hard raising 12 kids in North Jersey. My Kids are even darker complected and they often get mistaken for Latinos, Arabs, or mixed. But just a friendly question: what would I be considered if I had to pick only one race? Right now when we have to fill out a form that asks your race we check other, now I've seen some forms that say, “Some Other Race.” We always say other because we would never ignore the fact that our mom was haft black, we would look at that as disrespecting our mother and we love her too much. My parents came over with their siblings and settled in Little Italy in NYC before moving over to Jersey. We have alot of Aunts and Uncles and cousins and they would always tell us growing up we had to put down white as a race. I don't see it that way and I tell them, and we tell our kids, if asked, tell them you're mixed race.or check other on any form that ask your race. I'd love to hear someone's thoughts on this.. Similar in many ways which is why they dont really get along that much. Because they are similar enough to be around each other often, but different enough to not get along. It's the same every where in the world. Countries right next to each other dont get along because of small differences. You see that now especially with Russia and Ukraine. Sicily was occupied by the Arabs for about 150 years, a very short period. Southern Italy was never conquered by the Arabs, perhaps you are confused with Spain. Southern Italy has deep ties, both historical and genetic, with the Greek world. And I guarantee you that, except for a limited number of cases, North Africans and Southern Italians do not look alike at all and can be easily distinguished most of the time.
