Best time to visit Finland, is in the summer and winter. In summer you should see the lakelands in the Savonia region and the coast cities and towns. And in the winter, go to Lappland in the north, just to see the winter wonderland, see the northern lights and Sami people traditions

The drink you were talking about, long drink, is not beer but an invention made for the Olympics in Finland in the fiftees. Gin based grape drink. Very dangerous, as it tastes like a lemonade.

Tall black coffee but its differs from americano style since it's not espresso with hot water added. It's all filtered through the coffee. All though different styles are becoming more popular but it's still like filtered coffee with milk 37% filtered coffee black 35% then espresso 10% etc :D

Korvapuusti literally means when somebody twist your ear if you have been naughty. The cinnamon roll looks like a ear if you think about it. Most popular coffee here is just black filtered mocca. Others enjoy it with milk and/or sugar. I don't drink coffee myself. Yea Helsinki is quite expensive, because all the tourist goes there. If you like sports then i would recommend the city of Lahti. About 1 hour train ride or 1,5 hours with car from Helsinki city center to the north. Everything from wintersports to the swimming. Every summer an old steamtrain is also in use. You can also get from Lahti to Jyväskylä by small steamboat through the lakes.

July is the time when Finns are on holiday and touristy places are in full season. But schools start after second week of August and after that lot of those places close. So it depends what you want to see. Most summer events are on holiday season.

The lingonberry jam with meatballs (and goes with other meats too) is sweet and tart and goes very well with meatballs.

It is quite close to the port of Turku on the riverside. There is an expensive restaurant nearby. I myself live almost by the riverside, but I can't afford those meats

We have bad experiences with Italians reacting to Finnish food: "Pizza Berlusconi: The Politics Behind Reindeer Pizza". Some video suggestions. An Italian experiences Finnish summer cottage: "Trying Finnish Self Care Summer Habits | Ep.1 | Peaceful Cottage Culture". Finnish outdoor cooking: "Kuhamaa Finnish fish delicacies on an open fire". A traditional Finnish beer: "SheltonBrothers Brewing Up A SAHTI". About that Eastern treat mämmi: "Poop Pudding aka Mämmi - Why Would You Eat That?". More mämmi tasting: "TRYING FINNISH EASTER SWEETS | (My first) MÄMMI". About salmiakki: "Why Finland fell in love with salty liquorice". Finland has many kiosk and some products in the kiosks, such as beer, candy, etc. are more expensive than in the grocery store (this includes supermarkets too), but the kiosks can sometimes have offers, in which case the price is ok. Products are more expensive in kiosks due to low sales figures. And most people who visit the kiosks buy lottery tickets, cigarettes, coffee, etc. which is not very expensive or the same price as it would be in a grocery store.

Reindeer is very lean meat, not very strong. Easy to eat!

Jams we eat with meat are made out of tart berries. Works very well. Especially game dishes are nearly always served with berries or jam.

Basic coffee is light roast, filtered, so its not your typical americano, and not espresso. Its not particurlary strong, nor is it light because of filter brew. Best I can describe is that is espresso filtered with 2dl of water.
