Greetings everyone! I will write this message here because i got a lot of hate on other videos and some people also came forward on social media because my words were misinterpreted. Mine was a critique to the decision of Eurovision , it wasn't in any way a critique to Israel and its decision to invade Gaza to conduct their fight against terrorism. My heart goes to all the people that suffered and the family of the ones that perished in that heinous act of violence that occured the 7th of October 2023. A lot of hate seems to be innate towards the jewish nowadays as it has been troughout history for some reason that is yet to be discovered and probably won't because that is just pure non rational hate and that's about it. Getting back to the topic that caused debate , i was merely pointing out the fact that an invasion happened and i made the poor comparison between this one and the one lead by Russia , even though we all know they were not lead by the same reasoning, my mistake was not being able to better explain my point of view so i will now apologize for any misunderstanting that this caused. Israel is leading a defensive war, while Russia even though not admitting it, an expansionistic one. Now i can understand why many people got offended by my comment , the social media and TVs all around the world act like this is a football game where you need to stand on one side: Israel or Palestina, Hamas? Who's gonna win ? They do treat the whole question with human lives at stake like it's your favorite team playing on Sunday and they do not take in account the feelings of people that feel threatened by the constant menaces on their borders. I apologize if my words came off very strong, english isn't my first language so i probably couldn't deliver my critique in the best way and could have kept it to myself knowing very well that it could have been misreceived by the masses. To summarize it , my critique was towards Eurovision's decision because they are claiming now that Israel can participate because the contest is non political while in the year that Russia did invade Ukraine , they went ahead and decided to ban Russia from taking part of the competition because it could cause disrepute and affect the general humour. It's very intellectually dishonest if you ask me , the contest should be only about the music, why a Russian singer that just wants to make it in this hard world doing what he/she most likes is deprived of this opportunity ? Only because his/her government took that action in which he/she didn't took part of the decision making? All i'm saying is it should be about the music not which country is good and which is bad. I hopefully was able to convey my thoughts to you, and i will pray for everyone that is suffering to return home safe and meet his relatives and to all the people that didn't do anything wrong and are suffering because of this war. I feel i have to try and explain why there was so much negative rection to your comment in the video. Try to imagine, what would be your reaction if someone suggested back in 2022, that Ukraine should be banned from Eurovision. What would you feel? Even as a non-ukrainian, you would say that this is outrageous, a terrible injustice to the Ukranian people. Why should somebody even suggest that the nation that was attacked should be banned?? Because this is the true comparison. The nation attacked in this conflict was Israel. Ask the Ukrainian themselves, they can completely relate to Israels' struggle, they can see through the false narrative that some are trying to portray. So why would you even suggest that? Even more so, when the song being presented here speaks of the heartbreak and grief of the israeli people since that day?

You need to read on Eurovision website why they let Israel compete. Essentially because Eurovision is not a competition between governments/countries, but between public broadcasting authorities that are members of the European Broadcasting Union. Russia was banned in 2022 because their "public broadcasting channel" violated the rules of the Union. Israel's broadcasting authority did not.

In 2022 Russia and Belarus were banned from ESC when 08 delegations threatened to leave the contest if Russia was allowed to compete. Other delegations also signalled that they were considering withdrawing. Therefore the situation was very similar to the football world cup held the same year. ESC 2022 simply was not viable with Russian presence. In 2024, only Iceland suggested that Israel should be banned - and the Icelandic delegation never threatened to withdraw.

Then, why do you dare to compare the ban on Russia when they invaded Ukraine to Israel, which was the attacked country in the first place? Look, when Russia interfered severely in Crimea (and eventually de facto annexed that Ukranian region), they were allowed to still participate. They were banned only after Russia actively invaded and attacked the whole Ukraine. Trying to draw any similarities to Israel is just hilarious and shows a blatant lack of actual knowledge of the current reality in Israel and Palestine and the history of that land in the last 80 years.

It shows the murdered people who danced at the Nova festival in Israel. For us the date was really a hurricane She says there in one of the sentences, promise me you'll hold me again. Here she mentions the abductees from their point of view and their thoughts. The upside down tree shows the feeling of the people in Israel. If they allowed Ukraine to compete, they should allow Israel to compete. Banning Israel from the competition is taking a political side saying " You deserve what was done to you on 7/10" or "You don't have a right to defend yourselves". Thanks for the reaction though. Russia wasn't banned for invading Ukraine. They were banned because their broadcasting station had violated rules and had penalties. (nor are they the only country to have been penalized in the past. Other countries have also had issues before with their broadcasting stations for breaking rules). The broadcasting station Kan is in good standing, and has no reason to be penalized.

Israel was invaded and is waging a defensive war. Russia was the invader.

He thinks Israel shouldn't have participated because of the politics involved, but I'm sure he didn't say the same about Ukraine when they were invaded. I was just making the comparison because Eurovision said they didn't wanted Russia to participate in the 2022 edition being afraid for the artist represting their own country being "disreputed" and that's what i am afraid will happen... I'm all for separating politics and music/sports events, especially because the media always distorts in their favor news so all we are left with is taking a side or search for the truth by reading books, document ourselves and i don't see many people doing that. I hope things will go smooth for her during this festival and that she will be judged only for her talent!

It is great that you speak your mind, but man you should know the facts… The Eurovision song contest is a competition between public service broadcasters who are members of the EBU. It is not a contest between countries. The Israeli public broadcaster "Kan" met all the competition rules for this year and therefore Israel can participate. It has nothing to do with politics. The comparison to Russia is wrong because the Russian broadcasters themselves were suspended from the EBU due to their breaches of membership obligations.

There is a big difference between Russia, which invaded Ukraine with the aim of expanding and increasing its territory, compared to Israel, which had to reluctantly enter Gaza to ensure Israel's security and eliminate the terrorist organization Hamas.
