FAQ:
Who is this lady?
Gina Petitti was born in 1935 in Faeto, Italy. Her family ran a farm in Italy and she met her husband, Vito, in the same town. In 1970 Gina, Vito, and her 4 children immigrated to America. Gina’s husband passed away in 2012, but she is surrounded by a large family, which includes 9 grandchildren, and lives 5 minutes away from her eldest daughter in New Jersey. Gina spends her time cooking, gardening, and being an active member of her local Church.
Where does Gina get her recipes?
Most of these recipes are from what she learned growing up in Italy, but some of them have evolved over time. She has also learned new recipes from friends and family in America. She is always eager to try new things.
Why is no one helping her in the video?
Grandma Gina doesn’t want help! Usually, it’s because we will slow her down or not do it “her way.” For the videos we only show her, but when the camera cuts we jump in and help form the cookies or prep for the next step.
Why don’t we buy her a new...?
Grandma Gina has a closet and garage full of new gadgets, spoons, forks, pots, etc… but she doesn’t like them because she is used to doing it with her old tools. She has fun getting her hands dirty!
Who is behind the camera?
Her retired son-in-law films, her daughter helps her prep, and she usually has one or two grandkids in the kitchen.
Does Gina read the comments?
We print out and show her how much love she gets from all her viewers, and she is very thankful and hopes you enjoy her cooking! Your comments bring her lots of joy, laughter, and inspiration to make more videos to share with you.
Thank you for watching, we hope you subscribe, and we will see you in our next video!

You make me miss my mama and grandma so much. I wish I could squeeze you! Thank you for all the joy you have given me. Caralee Sangster
I freakin LOVE YOU GRAMA GINA! May you live a long healthy life. You bring so much joy into my house.😘❤
I’d love to see an episode with photos of Nonna Gina’s life in Italy and America while she tells her wonderful stories and sings her songs. She reminds me of my nonna e bisnonna, from whom I got my love of cooking and their pots and pans when they passed on. Nonna Gina is a treasure. God bless her.
I made theses when I lost 50 pounds for a healthy snack when we went to Europe. Such amazing snack! Thanks for sharing. Don’t use can beans tho. Doesn’t work as well.
Nonna Gina, I am making a special trip to the grocery store tomorrow so it is ready for Sunday snack when I am studying. Thank you!😘
Love you Gina! My mom passed away 15 years ago and for the first time in a long time, when I watch your videos, I feel like I have a cooking “partner” again. Also love that you sing in all your videos. Beautiful and from the heart! You’re fearless! Know you are not alone! Praying for you always! Much thanks to your family for supporting you! Hugs to you all! A huge fan, Vikki P.S. Can’t wait to make these chickpeas!
My goodness, she is precious! Love that she’s watching herself as she snacks! And all those giraffes 🦒 ❤️
Oh, to have a nice wood fire with hot coals, a long-handled wire basket to toast the chickpeas in with the whole family after a wonderful meal with great food, bread, wine and Gina, to make sure the little ones shake it just the way her mother showed her. This is true beauty.
she is so adorable🥰🥰🥰thank you grandma for sharing your memories and childhood snack🥰🙋🏻♀️🙏
I used to make this as an approved snack for a diet I was following. Very high in fiber and the good carbs. I used the canned version, drained and dried them, salt, pepper & garlic powder & cooked in the oven! I think I’ll try soaking the beans in orange peel. They look so yummy! Thank you Nona Gina! I hope you & your family are safe and sound! 😘❤️🙏🏼
Makes me feel safe and loved. Miss my elders soooo much. The last bit was awesome...she's a ⭐!!
Bravo..I cracked up when I saw the ending. Gina watching herself on tv snacking on chickpeas was priceless !! Thank you 💕
I get so happy when I see a new video! Great job capturing Gina watching her favorite show. What a great daughter and son-in-law. God bless you all.
I could listen to your stories all day Grandma Gina. ♥
Old school at its finest. Brings back the best memories. Love Nonna Gina
I love Grandma Gina!!! She reminds me of my Noni .... At age 90 she still was making homemade raviolis!!! She stretched the dough out so it was paper thin!!! She came to America when in 1914, 3 months before WW1 broke out.... thank God!!! My love to Gina and entire family!!! 😘😘😘😘😘

I'm so fond of you Gina! I discovered your channel last year and now more than ever during this time of isolation, I find great comfort in your videos. My grandma Concetta (born in Naples) was my first cooking teacher in her little kitchen here in Los Angeles. Your videos bring forth some of my best memories from childhood. I just love everything about you. Sending much love and gratitude to you and your family for sharing your beautiful spirit! 💜💫
I love you Grandma Gina. You are the sweetest lady. God Bless you over and over ❤️
I love this lady she reminds me of my mom great cook and a hard worker God bless you and your family
We had Easter Brunch today at an organic restaurant. The Cobb Salad I ordered had crispy garbanzo beans in it and they were wonderful. What a great replacement for croutons (gluten). So tonight I am in search of recipes to roast my own!! This is an awesome video and my Italian mom would be proud that I've learned from this lovely woman! Thank you Gina and family for taking the time to share this healthy snack!!!
Gina and her family are so lucky to have each other...such a wonderful thing that her family does this channel of her recipes. May it last a very long time💕🙏🏻💕
Well I started to cry watching her remembering my mom who has passed away. WHAT A BEAUTIFUL MEMORY.May the lord bless her lovely woman I just love this snack.
I wish she would write a recipe book. I would love it!!! I was supposed to learn how to make Gnocchi from my Grandmother but she died before she could teach me. I learned from Grandma Gina. Thank you!
Thank you, Gina❣️❣️❣️. I love hearing your precious memories of growing up in Italy with your family! Could you please tell us what a typical day would have been for your mother/grandmother? Did they start their day making bread & pasta dough & salsa? And how many hours did they spend cleaning house & laundry? I’ve read that Italian women are the cleanest in the world! Yes, Lever Brothers (manufacturers of cleaning products) did a study & found that Italian women spend more time cleaning than any others (which surprised me; I would have guessed Swiss or Japanese). You have a huge & loyal fan base & we all love you🧡❤️♥️
To all you 182 people who gave this a thumbs down enjoy your popcorn & Doritos! God bless you Gina!
Who else could use a hug from Grandma in 2020?
This is such wholesome content and it makes this quarantine time much easier to deal with ❤️

Thank You, Gina, for coming to America 🇺🇸 and sharing your wonderful cooking and culture with us. We love your recipes, songs and your stories. 🥰 Good Bless You and your Family. 🇮🇹
I was thinking about my nonna's roasted chickpeas today. I have never been able to replicate them, but figured there must be a recipe out there. Nonna Gina reminds me so much of my nonna that I lost in 2020. She was from the Caserta area in Italy. Thank you🤍

The snaps, too. Sweet!
I'm making these today, but soaked my peas in water with lots of minced garlic. Once dried, I added a little olive oil, garlic and salt. It may be 100 degrees here, but I cannot wait to try the snacks you inspired me to make.

Tanto amore dall'Inghilterra.
Love grandma Gina. Thank you for sharing all these recipes. I love to see the old school way. And thank you for keeping grandma safe during these tough times.
With orange peel...wow! I've never seen this recipe using that before watching your video. Thank you, Gina! You make us feel happy when ever we watch your videos. God bless you. 😊❤️
Miss Gina, I love watching your videos, but we need you to make a cookbook!! Your receipts AND stories. Would be a best seller!!❤️
I loved seeing Gina eating her snack and watching her show :) Thank you for the snack recipe!
Love you Gina. You remind me of my best friend's Noni who would cook for us all the time in your tradition. Your channel makes me so happy. Stay safe.
Congrats! I think we should be respectful to our elders. Because their experiences are so valuable for us...The one behind the camera shows us this respect in such a way. By the way, she looks younger than she is! I loved this channel and grandma so much.
She is such blessing to us all. Love and God Bless you Grandma Gina

Loved her sitting and watching her favorite show. Classic❣️
I am so enjoying these videos. My dad was born in 1935 and my mom passed in 2012. It is nice to see some of her history. She is so lovely and charming. 💙
Gina, you are the best! I watch your videos just to hear your accent - reminds me of many of my parent's relatives, most of which have already passed away. So hearing your voice is very nostalgic and reminds me of my childhood. I watch with my young sons so they can appreciate their italian culture. I pray that when this is over you can go on tour to visit fans. Woodbridge Ontario, Canada (part of Toronto) has the largest concentration of italians in all of Canada, and we would love to meet you! Book tour??? May God bless you and your family.
Good morning to you, its 230 am and I awoke in pain with my hips to find my glorious friend doing something simple and elegant, god bless you and your family. Always your friend in England 🙏❤️🙏❤️🙏

Julie, I hope you are feeling better today. Hugs and kisses . God Bless.
I try to never miss a video, I love everyone of them. You are truly the best Grama Gina! ❤️🥰
Everyone's favourite Grandma! She is so lovely and real.
Lovely! The ancient Greeks used to enjoy roasted chickpeas, usually to accompany wine and friendship. Without the orange, in those days. I'm going to try them.
During these times the connection between people and their experiences has become so important. The love, the passion and the understanding that we all want and love the same things together, memories of our family and the good things that bring hope from the past into the future. Just small things, but great things really, magnifico!! Thank you.
OMG, I loved this!. I especially loved the ending. Gina Finally relaxing! God Bless.
Signora Gina, what a blessing you are to your family and to your KZread fans. Listening to you talk about your family reminds me of my mother who is your age. God bless you. Love to watch you in the kitchen.
Gina, you remind me so much of my Grandma, Filomena, who came to America from Naples when she was 12 years old. She used to cook a lot of the things you cook. Thank you for your videos, and may God bless you.
I have some soaking with orange peel right now. Ima’ gonna’ bake them tomorrow! Thank you ❤️

Gina hello I am new to this video! You remind me and speak just like my mother! We came from Italy 1962. Lost her several years ago. When I miss her I look at one of your videos. Like I was in her kitchen!
I love the family atmosphere you describe and I love the accent
Thank you Ms. Gina! Happy Mother’s Day Love your stories and singing 😊
You are adorable! I’m going to try to make the chickpea snacks, too. Also, I found the long-handled measuring spoons & bought myself the 4-piece set: 1/2, 1/3, 1/4, 1/8 cup - just what I needed. You are so kind to help me with the information about the manufacturer. Take good care of yourself & I’ll keep watching you! Thank you, Jackie Shelton
Tonight is the first time I'm learning about you. I forgot how I was led to you but I enjoy watching your videos. There's something very magical about you😘
I am sorry I have never commented in the past. I have immensely enjoyed watching the videos and listening to your singing. Best wishes for continued success and enjoyment of your excellent culinary skills.
Oh how I needed this! Seeing Gina happy and safe and cooking is just the most comforting normal thing. Be safe, love from Nor Cal.
Nobody loves like a grandmother. Never knew either of mine. Was a late in life child. My wife is an awesome nana. Much love to you Gina.
As the son of Italian migrants, this made me smile. 🙂 The Nonna is like a cross of my mum and my Aunties. Interestingly, it was my dad who roasted “ceci’s” (cheh-chies) for us kids in the middle of winter. Yum.
Hey, first time we see Nonna Gina with her feet up watching tv. Brava xx
Gina, you are amazing. I've watched since your first video. You took the time to share with us all of your amazing knowledge and your history and all of that delicious food. I want to thank you with all of my heart. May God bless you always.
I bought chickpeas only to try this recipe. They are finishing soaking now. Love the citrus smell and can't wait to try this. Thank you for giving all of us a chance to learn great Italian recipes ❤ I have noticed that old recipes often have less oil and more healthy ingredients. They are also often hard to find. So again, thank you very much ❤❤
