Cheer up for Cuba! As soon as he begins his path, better things will come. A pity that León does not play for his native country, him along with Simon would be an incredible duo.

This was quite unfortunate for Cuba. The young Cuban team has alot of promise, as long as they contain the amount of errors they make. Congrats to Italy. It's going to be quite the match up btwn Italy & France in quarterfinals.

beautiful and hard-fought game between two very strong teams that gave exciting moments of sport and competition at the highest levels, my Italy is very strong but cuba has also shown to have a considerable technical background, in my opinion, the scores of the sets denounce in the Cubans towards the end of each match a slight drop in physical and concentration which made the difference in the end.

In my opinion, while his name will not be on the scoreboard, Fabio Balaso (the Italian libero) was the MVP of the match. Without him, the match could've been a 3-0 or 3-1 Cuban win.

You haven't watched the game. Or you haven't understood anything about the game. Cuba has lost 3-1 only thanks to Herrera and Simon. And Italy, all quality, was not in shape at all. It wasn't obvious, but in the end the strongest team has won.

@@edmond6818 I did watch the game, thank you. And I stand by what I said - in my opinion, Fabio Balaso was the game's MVP. And you're right in saying that Italy was not "on form," while Cuba was very erratic. But Italy's defences held through, with huge thanks to Balaso.

@@edmond6818 and yeah I kinda stand by his opinions, maybe wouldn't loose 0-3 but they could've lost 2-3 if the libero didn't play as good as he did

Cuba has potential but their game in some actions looked terrible. Too many mistakes and chaos. They need better setter. Also Lopez played very bad tournament. Just 31% in attack in whole world championships. If Italy want beat France in 1/4 they must play much better.

Cuba’s power potential is actually insane but I agree there is a TON of errors they need to work on especially defense into transitioning. It was really cool cuba reached this far. Mad respect

What do you think about Iran? Do you think it is a strong opponent?

Cuba has very powerful players but they need to work on their technique and update their game. It's gonna be interesting seeing Herrera and Melgarejo in the Italian Superlega this upcoming season. Italy didn't play their best but managed to win. They made too many service errors. Anzani changed the game. Sometimes you can see the lack of experience from some players. I wish they were more bold and less "shy" in difficult situations, take responsability and show what they're made of. They're certainly working on it. It's gonba be tough against France but for once I would like to see Lavia, Michieletto and Romanò be consistent throughout the whole match and give their best. The team sometimes goes in panic mode when one of them is not performing well.

No han resistido la presion y la tecnica de los italianos los cubanos espero sigan trabajando en sus debilidades pero considerando el retardo regreso de los cubanos esperemos mas adelante sea mas efectivo y de mas batalla a estas selecciones de primer nivel hay que aceptarlo los italianos tienen una de las mejores ligas de voley a nivel global hasta parece es el mejor valuado.

Il fatto curioso è che hanno vinto l'Europeo con la squadra rimaneggiata dal nuovo allenatore nominato dopo la delusione della olimpiade del mese prima. Sostituti i veterani con dei giovanissimi. E con Yuri Romanó, quasi sconosciuto arrivato dalla serie A2 che, entrato al 4 set della finale, ha praticamente deciso le sorti della partita . Nota che adesso gioca in superlega.... da riserva in panchina .

Cuba is a young but promising team. They needed more exposure or time playing together in a couple of years and they can beat powerhouse teams.

Cuba has lots of talent but very little discipline. They play with so much power due to their athleticism but they lack the basic fundamentals. Their passing needs tons of work and they don’t utilize the pipe attack nearly as much. Still good to seem them back at the world stage.

Si Italia fue el campeón, mejor que Polonia ,Usa y Brasil y obvio mejor que Cuba.

Just a bit more experience and using smarts instead of brut force, Cuba can give any team a run for their money. Cuba will be an awesome team in 1-2 years.

Si estudias lá história del volleyball aprenderás que la rivalidad entre ambos conjuntos és magnânima. No importa momentos altos o bajos de un lado o de otro. No hay luego fácil para ninguna seleción.

At home

the big mistake from this Cuba Team is to put in that middle blocker Simon in that team , cause the setter doesn't know how to set him and he missed so many middle hits , Simon was a player all around the world in Volleyball clubs not for Team Cuba , for me they should stay with his team that qualified for this tournament till Simon and the Setter settle down each other

Cuba needs better, defense, pass and set.

Aunado a lo que comentan, la terrible pasividad del entrenador cubano, parecía que tenía puros “mochos” en la banca, no los utilizaba ni sabía si darían resultado o no. No entiendo qué pasa con los entrenadores de esta generación… ganan o pierden los los mismos dentro de la cancha. Que poca fe!

they left the team a couple of years ago. Most of this team started to play together in 2019, they are 20 to 25 years old.
