If you have one of those little steam cleaning guns for around the house, it will be your best friends for cleaning grease fittings. The old grease melts away. All the dirt gets blasted away. And occasionally the heat from the steam is enough to persuade stuck grease fittings to accept grease until you can get a replacement.

I don't know how long you're planning on keeping this machine. But if you want to keep it for a long time, it will be worth your time to disassemble and clean those joints that have rust streaks leaking out of them. The rust particles will add a lot of wear and tear to the bushings and pins causing them to fail sooner.

I don't know if you already know or not that the grease gun adapter is adjustable. Look at the adapter at the end of the hose, it's hard to tell but there is 2 parts screwed together to adjust how hard it is to put on and remove from a grease fitting. You will need a wrench and a pair of vise-grip, the wrench for the part where the hose screw in and vise-grip for the tip. It may be really tight ! just break it loose and you will see that it is really easy to remove from a grease fitting now ;) If you need pliers to remove your grease gun you risk of pulling out the grease fitting.
