It Worked! The Acoustic Guitar Binding Fits Perfectly...

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

It Worked! The acoustic guitar binding channel was cut clean and the binding fits perfectly. It is tricky cutting the binding channel for an acoustic guitar so I am pleased this went so well. Without a doubt this part of the acoustic guitar building process makes me very nervous.
Now for the hard part! Cutting the binding channel on the acoustic guitar top in preparation for the armrest. That acoustic guitar back makes me nervous but this terrifies me because I don't want to make a mistake on the top...ever!!!!!

I came here from your video, to see if he bought the light yet... I was going to recommend a beauty dish w/ sock on another magic arm in the rafters.

This is why custom guitars cost so much. Time and effort and craftsmanship is not cheap.

I still am in shock you did not have any breakfast tea. Also, I cannot believe you fed that guitar under that bit practically freehand. With my tremor I would have cut the guitar in half. LOL

I loved you’re energy in this one! Left me with a big smile at the end 😊. You have the best Jigs! I love how that jig just glides around and how the router moves with the guitar. That’s cool!

Monty...I wondered if you would be interested in doing a reaction video? I wanted to see what you thought of Phil Keaggy's playing. Particularly, "off the record" which I found on a channel called Colby Graham.

I expected to see a big sigh of relief at the end of your routing, but your exuberance at the end of the whole video pretty much said it all. 🤣 So much fun to watch! Also, it reminded me of how allergic I am to "Bazillian" Rosewood when you put on your dust mask!

Brilliant fun, as well as a huge amount of skill for us to learn from. Thanks for that. I'm just enjoying a Marks and Spencers Breakfast tea here on the Isle of Wight off the south coast of the UK. Blowing a hoolie outside but that doesn't matter with tea and Monty!

It's likely shellac to seal the end grains. That way it's less likely for for the wood to chip away in splinters as the router bits cuts, making for a cleaner cut with less fraying at the edges.

I painted on some shellac to prevent tear out. I still got some tear out on the top though. You'll see that soon. lol
