Still salty how they gave Wondy the win in their fight with details as trivial and dumb as her sword "being able to cut on the atomic level" (which was also ignoring the fact that, to even do that, she needed Supes to guide her...and it still caused a nuke to go off in their faces). Pretty sure none of the absurd multiversal, literal fate-altering feats that were given to Thor for this battle came up for the battle against Diana, and certainly no Thorforce and the like.

Vegeta DID become a good father and husband. That character development hit HARD.

Thor is written by multiple writers for different runs for sure but it is all still the same Thor in the 616 continuity. I could be wrong but it didn't seem like they used a different universe Thor in any significant way in their analysis.

@@franciscoarzapalozapata4610 What are you talking about they used the same Thor that debuted in 1962, just because he has different writers doesn't mean it's a different Thor. Also they didn't even use current canon Thor which a way bigger nerf than Vegeta had.

I went with Thor on this one, mostly because he was able to absorb energy, and forcibly take it. However I was a little nervous about Ultra Ego and how that works. But no matter what I was just happy to hear Dbza Vegeta again.

The thing is, they made BASE vegeta ssg to HEAVILY nerf vegeta. Vegeta in base was stronger than the goku who PERMANENTLY absorbed the power of ssg into base (where the 13x universal came from, which is wrong to begin with as it’s infinitely more). So instead ssb was 50x 13x universal, instead of being 50x ssg which would be 16 million x 13x universal. (Using official multipliers) ssb vegeta alone would be immensely above the numbers they used for Thor.

@@Mikerille I agree that the calca for Vegeta were really wonky in this episode, SSBE & Ultra Ego were heavily nerfed but even if we highball Vegeta, Thor still comes out on top. Like others said, Thor was nerfed in this fight to make it more fair. My biggest problem with this episode were just the calcs for Vegeta.

@@DiabloBrano homie. Let’s be exact. They said vegeta is 13x 3D when he is atleast 9x 4D in base. This isn’t even close. Also if they are using strongest versions of each from all history (they used non canon, non base and pre modern Thor feats) than xeno vegeta would kill thorforce Thor in base. Just saying for fairness.

Vegeta didn't hold a candle to THAT version of Thor they used, and he has more power ups beyond what they showed here than I can count. Funny that you would make that up and think no one would call you on it. Funnier still that you thought that would be enough to beat Thor. Even if I gave you that made up shit, no one and nothing in the DragonBall universe could even remotely scale to Galactus, as just his fights alone could obliterate literally infinite universes, just from the collateral power of a fight alone. Thor could kill Galactus with a single move, in THIS form. Remember, he has a lot more that scale unimaginably higher still. Face it, Goku and Vegeta could have been in this battle together, and both still would have lost.

also, side note: the ax that thor uses in battle is not the same one he used in "infinity war". that ax was called stormbreaker and it was, in the comics, used by thor's battle brother and one of the few people worthy to life his hammer, beta ray bill.

I enjoy your reactions. They’re fun. Even if Vegeta went for the head, he absolutely would’ve lost. Even with the Nerf version of Thor that they used he still curb stomps him. Also when you saw Vegeta “powering up “he wasn’t, he was just becoming angrier. That red hair is his normal hair.

What…? No it’s not, his normal hair is black, like all saiyans. Red hair is ssg, which makes him 16 million x stronger. Ssb vegeta alone would be stronger than they put.

Vegeta‘s original hair color was more red than black. They were using a shade that emphasized both his original and current design.

Who powers up first doesn't determine who wins. Its mostly who is more likely to use their higher forms first. Since the Super Saiyan Forms are important for Vegeta, he is likely to go into it first since that is when he uses more of his power. Thor meanwhile tries to not use Warrior's Madness since its frown upon in Asgard. So that's why he transforms later than Vegeta. There's an example of someone powering up first and winning, but I won't spoil who since I don't think you saw it yet.

Another example of a Death Battle where a character powered up first and won that he has reacted to was Ragna vs Sol Badguy in Season 2 . . . . . . Sol was technically the first to power up with Dragon Install before Ragna went to Blood Kain. While Ragna did go into his Black Beast form first, this was out of his control, while Sol chooses to go into his Gear Form afterwards.

Gods, it feels great to hear Lani as Vegeta again!

There've been a few characters who have won despite powering up first, including Vegeta himself against Shadow. So while that's true the majority of the time, it also isn't a hard and fast rule.

Yeah I went with Thor for this one but Lani as Vegeta is the Highlight of this, that may be the Best Final Flash I've ever heard, it still gets me hyped, and Thor's vo has definitely improved since Thor vs Wonder Woman. And the the music was so good it even paused for the fake out lead to a sick hand drawn Thor after he tanked that Final Flash, and this maybe my favorite Death and Battle of the season so far

Vegetas Ultra Ego is basically the opposite of Gokus Ultra Instinct, while Gokus Ultra Instinct is based on the Power of the Angels like Whis and is based on the fighting style of dodging and countering, Vegetas Ultra Ego is based on the Power of the Gods of Destruction like Beerus which is based on Tanking hits and maximizing the own destructive output

I was really rooting for vegeta, so I'm pretty sad, but oh well... this episode also made me realise that I actually have a pretty good track record for my preferred character winning. I can only think of like 4 where my favourite character lost (not including times I like both a lot)

I didn't think this video would be made. But I'm glad this video was released. Thank you so much.

The axe hammer one in the movies is called Stormbreaker, in this Death Battle is just a magical axe from the comics

The only thing I take issue with here is their calculations were based on Goku's fight with Beerus and seemed to be going under the assumption that his base hadn't gotten any stronger since then. Which just isn't true. Their base power has grown many, many times over since then. I like the fact that they brought up how Vegeta's power would be growing throughout the fight too. But they made the mistake of asserting that only his strength would grow. It wouldn't. Strength and speed are generally tied in the DBZ Universe. An increase in power would include making him faster.

Yeah it’s literally canon that in Resurrection of F, Goku’s base form is equal to SSJG when he fought Beerus. Then Goku’s base form got many times stronger in the Black arc due to Zenkais and Vegeta was even stronger than Goku at that point. Then we need to factor in the Zenkais Vegeta got in Tournament of Power. Not to mention that they lowballed tf out of Ultra Ego by claiming it is only 20x stronger than SSJB.

Only reason you doubt Vegeta being a good father is because you only watched DBZA which only went as far as the Cell saga. Buu saga and Dragon Ball Super shows how good of a dad he can be.

In strength is close because saiyans get stronger while they fight and with ultra ego is even easier for Vegeta to get as strong as Thor, so speed was the biggest factor here

Most of the time they mean "close" as calculating who would win at their base forms, their other form(s) if any, factors and so on. So yeah.

The next battle might be an obvious stomp, but judging by the preview...hoo boy, this'll still be worth watching.

Lot of these fights end up feeling like unfair or stomps and make some match ups seem foolish (like Thor vs Raiden), but that’s because of a few factors Obvious one is they use characters at their absolute best, which especially with DC and Marvel where there’s tons of versions made by different writers, taking the best of the attributes can make characters seem utterly absurd. But even for non comic characters, like Solid Snake or Dante, he ends up getting abilities and gear that come up throughout his lifetime all at once But more importantly, the characters never are chosen based on being similar in power. They’re chosen because of their story writing comparisons or real world connections. Goku and Superman are the childhood power house heroes that came to earth as children from doomed planets. Cable and Booster Gold are both time traveling super heroes with a ton of similar abilities. Bane and Venom both use Venom (the drug and the symbiote), but are also the ‘bulkiest’ arch enemies to their respective heroes. Rainbow Dash and Star Scream are iconic characters from their shows, both made by Hasbro, built (initially at least) on the boy v girl toy structure. Here, Thor is the prince god of Asgard, vegeta is the sayian prince with god powers, both warriors eager for battle. Honestly means it’s rare that you’ll ever find an equal fight, except when the characters come from the same universe and were scaled to eachother. Spyro V Crash, which have long been associated with eachother, had its tie breaker argument pulled from Spyro’s most recent games to finish the fight with how otherwise equally matched they were. But across other universes, characters are scaled to the threats within it. So taking them out, the ‘balancing scale’ of their universe is gone, as best demonstrated with Hercule Satan v Dan, as arguably Dan is taken a hair more seriously than Hercule within his own universe, yet outclassed Dan in most aspects that mattered While the fights are a delight, I honestly find the most enjoyment in seeing how these 2 characters compare to eachother in their stories and all the common threads they have between them

They don't compare the character's power in anyway at all, not just how they choose the match-up. They pick a match-up they think will be liked and popular because of the storytelling similarities, then they do some research to make it seem accurate, and make an (admittedly very entertaining) fight. They are, like I said very entertaining though, that's why i watch reactions of them from time to time.

Vegeta's actually the most competent father in the series. Yeah, it admittedly took him a bit to get there, but once you hit the end of the buu saga, he basically became the ultimate family man. Hell, in Super, he initially turned down entering the Tournament of Power, a chance to fight literally the most powerful beings in all existence, because his second kid Bulla was about to be born any day and there was no way in hell he was going to miss it.

Since you never saw past episode 60 of DBZA Abridged, Vegeta actually did improve in becoming a better father and husband.

3:11 Hercules was a Demigod, who in greek mythology became an actual god by the end of his life for all his heroic achievements and suffering through his life

Love Vegita the guy definitely needs I was back and forth but then I remembered all of Thor’s feats like giving hands to the Phoenix Force cracking celestial armor and going down in honor during the multiversal colapse of marvel having taken down a freaking Beyonder ( granted some help but still dealt the bigger and finish blow).

We’re 1/4 into Season 9 (DB seasons nowadays are usually 16 episodes long), & this has been a really great start. Harley VS Jinx was a great premier, Scarlet VS Zatanna was really entertaining, Tanjiro VS Jonathan was really good, & Thor VS Vegeta is (so far) my favorite episode this season. The next episode, Omni-man VS Homelander, is a stomp, but I think we’ve learned by now that it doesn’t automatically make an episode bad by default, so who knows, maybe they’ll surprise us.

About Vegeta's fathering, truth is in GT he and Bulma had a second child, a daughter named Bra, and that girl had him wrapped around her finger like you wouldn't believe. So he may have started out a sh!t dad, but between that and his sacrifice attack trying to save his son during the Buu saga, I'd say he grew into it

To your question if Vegeta could do anything to put Thor down: no. Basically every possible win condition was negated or outclassed by Thor (and that isn’t even going into his higher forms). A character being a “god” has been overused in media for decades to the point where it’s lost meaning. Thor brought that back into perspective with his feats.

without any layup, i had originally gone with vegeta, but then i saw the ultra ego form and so i had to go back before finishing, then i knew

When Goku and Vegeta both attained god form, I dubbed them the Saiyan Gods of Battle and Pride, respectively. The fact that Goku gets Ultra Instinct (for battle) and Vegeta gets Ultra Ego just feels appropriate to those titles.

Weirdly enough, Vegeta is a pretty good dad. especially in Dragon Ball Super.

So now that you're caught up, I suggest reacting to The Greatest Show by FDS Matchmakers (Or Flip d. Switch) it's a really cool AMV tribute to Death Battle

Vegeta's hair looked red because that's just what the sprite looks like. Vegeta is actually pretty commonly seen with dark brown hair in some pieces of media (not in the anime though I'm pretty sure)

Actually, Vegita had different colored hair early in the anime. It was either reddish or brownish. Watch the episodes he is in before he first gets to Earth.

Both The Boys and Invincible (the series Omni-Man is from) are both Amazon Prime series. Both characters are pretty much messed up versions of DC's big blue boy scout, Superman. As someone who has watched both series, I'm looking forward to seeing this one.

I find it interesting that they refer to Ultra Ego as the offensive counterpart to Ultra Instinct; I’m not sure if that’s been said somewhere in the official sources, but I can actually see it. I always wondered if Vegeta would get something like that, given his generally aggressive mindset.

Fenrir is large enough to eat *THE SUN* and it's been said that Thor will die from that fight. also, some fun fact about the world-serpent called Jörmungandr: he's big enough, to not only circle the planet twice, but he's so long that should he ever take a flight through the sky, it'd create a darkness that'd last 40 days. also, you know those craters that are seen on the moon? yeah, it's said that they were made from Jörmungandr's TEETH. and Thor could lift that motherfucker like nothing. The reason why comic book characters typically win because the comics have been going for 50+ years with tons of stories and authors. So they have more things to pull from. Obviously there are characters that are less than ten years old (the stories, not the character) and can absolutely shit stomp comic book characters. Its just rare.

Omni-man vs Homelander is going to be fucking crazy. The animation is Hand Drawn in the same style as Invincible and The Boys: Diabolical, and the set up is the best one we've had since Goku vs Superman or Iron Man vs Lex (IIRC) I think you should watch both Invincible and the Boys, or at least the first episodes of both before the battle.

Vageta is probably my favorite character in any medium of all time, but there's no way he'd ever beat Thor. Escanor from Seven Deadly Sins would have been a much better match.

@@LightningXXI I didn't finish 7DS much after the 7 deadly frames season apart from about 50-60 (it's been a while) plus chapters from the manga, idk how Escanor can handle what was show as well as the stuff they didn't mention that would completely change the fight. Please don't @ me since there are plenty people who would rather spend their time debating then me right now. (It's really really late and I got 2 exams tomorrow so yeh)

They're both Kings of dead planets, though Thor has more citizens.

I’m excited for the next fight. Omni Man and Homelander are perfect examples of the evil Superman trope. But funny thing is, Omni Man vs Homelander gets completely hated on by a majority of the death battle community. The reason why is because it’s a complete stomp in one of the characters favor (I won’t say who for your sake Duck) and because the connections between the two kind of misrepresent Omni Man’s character and only highlight the basic understanding of the characters. Which are basically “two evil supermen who pretend to be good, only to have dark and evil secrets behind them” like I’ve seen people want Omni Man vs Bardock (also from Dragon Ball) and Homelander Vs Tighten (from Megamind) more than this fight. But after looking at those options, I’m honestly really happy we got Omni Man vs Homelander.

I like how Kyle is so used to Dragon ball transformations beyond SS2 that he does not know he does not register the Purple Ultra Ego God of Destruction form....he just carries on cos its just a new colour to add to many maaaaaaaaany diffrent hair colours.

2 Mjolnirs is due to present Thor’s interaction with his past self, Thor the God of Vikings, and his future self, Old King Thor. Specifically the latter. (*More on that in a sec. 👇🏻*) Jarnbjorn is not the same as the MCU version of Stormbreaker, btw. It’s actually the 1st weapon Thor wielded before he could wield Mjolnir. Reminder (*they’ve mentioned at least 2 of them, quite a bit*): Sentry’s one of Marvel’s takes on Superman. Others are Blue Marvel, Gladiator (*the only alien out of the group*), and Hyperion. Vegeta’s still technically a prince, due to not getting to properly coronated and Planet Plant/Vegeta getting Supernova-ed. Meanwhile, Thor’s been a king 2x: once during the “Ragnarok” storyline and recently/currently at the end of the “War of the Realms” storyline.

The ending is double perfect because it is 1000% in character for vegeta to underestimate thor

No you don’t. Imagine a red light taking 10,000 years or a conversation moving slower than a snail. I’m sure some comic has a convenient “relative speed” thing, but in “real life” it would be Hell being fast as gods

While I agree with most of this, I feel like they left something out of consideration. While it's true that Thor has resisted existence erasing attacks before, I feel like they didn't take level of power into consideration when it came to erasure. So the question is, would Hakai at Vegeta's level be too much for Thor to resist?

Even if the difference in power was reversed (which it could depending on how you handle Vegeta's multipliers), most likely not. Characters weaker than destroyers, like Frieza surviving Top's hakai, still had the durability needed to survive it. So unless the power gap was gigantic (which it's not, it's relatively even, minus Thor's 'Oh Shit' buttons), the most hakai would do is cause damage like any other attack.

I wonder how this battle would have ended if Vegeta used a senzu bean... U mean, a Saiyan's power multiplies after recovering from near death, some of which becomes permanent...

The next death battle omni man vs homelander will have spoilers for invincible and the boys

I love that they did Vegeta justice by atleast giving him a good show of his INSANE power. Just not enough to beat a character who can one shot even galactus.

It will, but since Homelander is gonna get what's coming to him, it'll be very cathartic to see

Blue *is* Super Saiyan God. Or more accurately, a super Saiyan version of the Super Saiyan God. And he cannot go Ultra Instinct, but he can go Ultra Ego, which is his latest form in the mango

To answer your question of how he got 2 hammers is cause present Thor traveled to the far future and used his future self's hammer

On that note, so far it's looking like a colossal stomp in Boomstick's favor

13:12 well leaving the parody aside vegeta is a very good father and husband after his character arc ended.

And thus they kept it canon by the Final Flash failing to defeat Vegeta’s opponent again. It never works, he really should just stop using that move and make a better one.

Froze Zone Let’s ask that question more suitable to answer, like Piccolo, as he was invented a technique to make a beam that pierced through people instead of vaporize them.

Also his damage absorption took hits from ultra instinct Goku at his peak universe killing shots whatever Thor could have thrown at him he would have eaten and returned to him

Yeah omni man vs homelander is gonna be a total stomp, omni man is FAR MORE stronger and durable than homelander 💀
