I think it’s great that the bison are checked over by Doc before the sale. I wish all livestock auctions were that way. Some of the farm channels I watch get animals from an auction only to discover they bought a sick animal.

The buffalo birds - now know as the cow birds are a vital part of the eco system! We are excited to see them on the property! As the bison walk through the grass they stir up the insects for they birds and the birds help to remove the ticks or other insects from the bison as they ride along!

Thanks. If I was younger I would be interested but now I’m just to darn old. I have watched some bison farmers in Oregon. It was very interesting how they fenced and pastured. You knew from the fencing it wasn’t cows. Even before you saw them. Haven’t seen any in Northern California.

Fencing is a key component in raising them! You have to have good fencing or it will be a battle to keep them safe!

Yes they do! The winter coats have come in and made them look extra fluffy!

Being involved in dog breeding and showing, genetic studies are fun! My grandkids are in FFA and 4 H one has Angus cattle, the younger sheep and rabbits. It good to see where your FFA years are now taking care of you and helping you to appreciate a genetically strong herd. Good job. Happy New Year CTB. Wishing you continued success.

It's a real treat for all your viewers following your journey. I wondered if you are able to identify individuals from a distance without reading ear tags? As you always mention names but are you reading ear tags ? 😊 keep up the good work and may 2024 see the ranch going from strength to strength

They each have distinct features about them...once you see them enough you can recognize them from afar! A good double check is to read the ear tags in can we can't tell who it is. The horn shapes is a quickest way to tell. Thank you for the encouragement!
