Weirdly enough the dates actually line up with Barry debuting in 1956 (marking the start of the Silver Age) and dying in "Crisis on Infinite Earths" in 1985. I'm not sure why it's like that, but I'm guessing Zoom swapped out the original to mess with Barry and was building up to that.

I do remember Zoom appearing on the cover of a Geoff Johns collection (which is also about when the speed force became able to do whatever the writer said).

He’s canonically: pushed Barry down the stairs (which broke his arm), messed up a game of catch he was playing with his dad, erased his childhood best friend from existence, burnt down his and killed his dog.

I'm wondering what Thawne's reasoning was for moving Barry's sofa. If I have to guess, he had moved his sofa slightly closer to Barry's TV, therefore making it so that Barry's eyesight would whittle away at a faster rate whenever he decided to watch TV. Truly, a diabolical scheme only the Reverse Flash could've come up with.

@@Fruad_jo Ehhhh, the mailman doesn't come at the exact same point in time each day(and bills wouldn't come on the exact same day each week/month), so there would be some time accrued as he waited for the mail to be delivered or kept hopping around to get to it after the mailman came but before Barry got to it. Figure at least 24 hours in total personal time to futz with 5-10 years worth of bills.

Don’t take that as something did for decency sake; it’s for subtlety’s sake. If a payment is late, it’s inconvenient but not a big enough deal to do something dramatic about. If it’s actually gone missing entirely, you’re going to suspect foul play the first time, and there’s no way you just let it go twice in a row. So Barry would have caught on too quick.

You know what really cracks me up about this? To speedsters, their speed is normal speed. So in their own normal super speed, Thawne watched Barry sprint off, waited for him to grab his super suit, change out, then watched him sprint back. Just waiting the entire time to deliver his monologue. Which makes me realize why it's almost absolutely vital that "no one knows Batman's true identity". Can you imagine being an enemy speedster waiting for Bruce Wayne to run off in completely normal speed, take off his suit and clothes, put on the entire batman outfit, customize it, and then come back to fight? Batman would be a complete laughing stock. In order to take Batman even slightly seriously, no one can know his true identity.

Honestly, the credit score thing is pretty diabolical, seeing as many superheroes have a hard time financially, even without outside hindrance. @@seasnaill2589 I'd argue it'd be the paradox because Barry doesn't go out of his way to avoid a predetermined fate and ( to my knowledge) there was no prophecy in the first place. However if we were to look at it from the perspective of it being a paradox then it makes complete sense; Barry tells Thawne about his mother's death, which leads to Thawne going back to do it ( probably just because he can ), which leads to Barry telling Thawne etc.

Now that the files of the Hitler's secret police have been opened, we know that they actually did spend years doing things like this. Seriously. Breaking into people's homes and leaving all the lights on. Deflating their bicycle tires when their back was turned. Calling them up with wrong numbers on the telephone. The whole point was to make their victim paranoid, and in such a way that if their victim talked about it they would SEEM paranoid to everyone around them. Truth is stranger than fiction!

The voice acting is so good. I’ve watched this video at least 30 times for the ‘How does it feel Barry to know I forever changed the trajectory of your life!’

I love how Thawne is just a petty villain doing some of the most mundane heinous acts, but he draws the line at “did you kill my mom” lol.

Was kind of expecting Thrawn to hear what Barry was saying and then mid coversation run back to the past and come back with Barry's mother alive and well. Thereby revealing his true intention of making Barry's home life really awkward as he has to help get his mother's paperwork all sorted out and explain the last 15 years to her.

@@athath2010 I suppose that could lead to some big moral quandary where he would have to choose between keeping his mother or having to send her back to her death in the past to prevent a paradox. Then, when he talks about it to the Justice League we hear the sound of Batman running in to hear about this, and goes on to explain how he has multiple plans in place to make lifelike decoys to replace people's dead parents if he ever "accidentally" ended up getting sent to the right time period, or just got access to any sort of semi-reliable method of time travel whatsoever. Barry: So I had to make a tough choice. Keep my mother, or endanger history. Bruce Wayne: I have made a million contingency plans I've hoped I'd never have to use. Saving someone's dead parents through time travel is one I've prayed to God I'd get the chance to enact.

Actually that makes sense. Thawne would run fast enough to make it look like a murder. I bet he'd even plant a fake cadaver just to f!ck Barry's mind up even further thinking someone murdered her when in reality, Thawne hid her away safely in Metropolis, stole an identity for her, she dropped a few pounds and did a lot of exercise to where she looks completely different, and yet her DNA matches her to herself, and Barry must've seen her in a Starbucks at one point because God I don't know. I forgot a detail: he's only showing her off _now_ and what Barry has been doing was groveling at a plot that had yet to be used. It would be so perfect. He's only thinking of this _now_ because he had to check whether or not he already did it, because only he would know how this specific cadaver would be made.

The voice actor for reverse flash is putting their soul into this performance.

This is some of my favorite villain voice acting I heard in a while. I practice the evil laugh speeding on the highway. IT WAS ME THE GUY WHO SPEED PAST YOU! IT WAS ME ALL ALONG!

I was actually shocked when he said that the perishables hadn't expired because they had travelled through time to get to the future. Brilliant twist that I didn't see coming.

I couldn't do it -Do what? -Both, to kill her or to prevent her dead -You pretty useless you know? -Well I was able to do something else, Barry... -What -I am you father -Son of...

Takeaway, if you happen to have an arch nemesis with powers as busted as time travel: If they happen to comically overestimate their evil deeds, just play along and pretend like they were, in fact, very devastating to you. (Who knows - if you play your cards right, you might even get them to inadvertently help you.)

A show about a villian hyping up to do something terrible only for the hero to find out it was dumb and trivial after much preparation or investigating would be entertaining. But the hype always gets the hero worried and keeps expecting the villian to actually do something terrible.
