I personally loved it. At the end of the day, all I wanted to see was Atlas and Lily together and happy and that's exactly what happened. It didn't need plot twists, it didn't need drama, it didn't even need to be a full book, and it was perfect (imo of course).

  • @SummerShepherd-4

@@SummerShepherd-4 Exactly! She also said in the acknowledgments that she never wanted a sequel because she didn’t want to put them through more pain so the fact that she kept the sequel nice and simple was perfect. I didn’t want to read about them in more pain either so I’m so, so, so grateful she kept it the way it was!!!

i agree, even though i really liked the book and gave it five stars it's interesting to see other people's opinion and I actually enjoy seeing negative reviews on books that i love cause it keeps things fun and either i realize that they are making valid points or it just reaffirms why i love the book

  • @alyssal9999

I rated this 5 stars, I think this was the ending they deserved. It definitely could have been messier or more exciting but I think they deserved a happy family that could learn how to cooperate with each other! It was a lot slower but I kinda liked it!

for me, this book is a classic CoHo. She brings up an important theme and somehow, even though she portrays the problem perfectly, her solution to it is just incoherent. i 100% agree that if she was just going to be bring up Ryle and his problems, this could’ve been the perfect opportunity for her to show men in therapy working through his problems and not essentially blaming women for everything. And like yourself, i was not a Atlas girlie, so i was ready for this book to be the moment i was going to fall in love for the adult Atlas (it wasn’t) As a classic CoHo, the ending was just rushed. We got from point A to B in like 2 chapters. I was not expecting a great, amazing book but I am still kinda disappointed with this. It was also a 2 stars for me.

The ending was so rushed and I felt like CoHo could have gone deeper with a lot of things. Being so, I’m happy that Atlas and Lily got together. I definitely got frustrated at a lot of moments with some characters.

Your opinion is so valid! I gave this book 5 stars but not because it was the perfect romance that we were all expecting but because I really enjoyed reading about the process of them healing and moving forward. I agree the romance was rushed towards the end but I was so happy for them that it didn't bother me too much! Don't apologize for your opinions!!! Loved this video and getting to hear about a different reading experience for this book :)

I don’t think there was much of a plot or much character development, but I still loved it. I feel like it is a very true story to DV, I get why Lily was still scared for Ryle to find out and he needed to be in this book because he will always be in Emmys life. A lot of women are too scared to tell police due to the man’s social status.

(Spoilers) I enjoyed the book. I gave it 4 stars. I also found some of the book to be a bit rushed definitely the ending. I wanted to know when and where Atlas proposed. And the date of the wedding. Like I know some others are going to wonder too. The wedding and the vows are a bit turbulent if you ask me. Considering the chapter before the wedding.

it was good timing that your vlog came up as soon as i finished this book and i stand by how disappointing the sequel was. i was hoping that this book wasn't a continuation of all these situations from the first book only because it feels that it's repetitive enough that i'm not learning anything substantial from lily and atla's relationship; and unfortunately, i found out this book continues from the last scene of "it ends with us." i understand having to bump up a rating for the sake of other readers (i faced that too and it's tough) but your honesty really shines in your review and i'm sure other ppl, like myself, wholeheartedly agree with your feelings and thoughts

The reason they didn’t tell Ryle he needed to go to therapy is because in the first book, he tells us that he has been in therapy since he was six years old. He clearly needs to take it more seriously though 💁🏻‍♀️

I finished this book and really enjoyed it! I loved the journal entry's personally. I felt it reminded me of myself and then it made sense that the first "person" she wanted to go to was "ellen" because she just got done having a traumatic event and that's who she turned to when she was a kid for comfort and to feel safe. So it made sense for her to turn to that safety net right away. (In my opinion.) I really loved Theo and all his one liners and I appreciated seeing Atlas's side of abuse and getting to work towards that and give something to his brother that he wasn't given himself. He was Josh's Lily. And that; the whole book makes my heart happy.

thank you for an honest review of this book and for not falling into the hype!!!!. i feel like colleen was a bit lazy with this book, if I'm being honest, and it's frustrating that we barely got to see lily and atlas together and the actual progression of their relationship and them getting to know each other again. i don't know if i would want a bunch of drama because i want lily and atlas to have some peace, but we get barely any glimpse into their relationship!!! as you said, she should've had more of their modern-day relationship in the book. this book was just so underwhelming.

tbh when i first got to know that she was launching the sequel to it ends with us i wasn’t that excited bcs atlas wasn’t that interesting in it ends with us , unless yesterday when i saw came cross this post on instagram and i got super excited and read it in two sittings. it was kind of hard to pick up in the start bcs it had been so long i read it ends with us but when he get lily lunch OMGSHSHDH I WAS SCREAMINGGG 😭ahhh anyways it was a good book and i think we needed this after what we read in “ it ends with us” , it was nothing like the previous book although in first book i couldn’t hate ryle , i hate sympathy for him but in this book she totally changed ryle’s character and turned him into this manupulative, gaslighting person ahh i hated ryle in this book and atlass omgg I . WANT . ATLAS , and i dont think im getting over atlas anytime soon 😩 also i didnt like how it ended i mean he was reading his vows i just felt like the ending was missing something maybe she could end it when he was writing those vows or when they come back home as a married couple and see emmy and their child idkwhdhs idk but i didn’t like how it ended

Am I gonna read this book? No. I think it is the most unnecessary book ever made and she will ruin the entirety of what she wrote in it ends with us without even trying. Will I still watch this vlog? Yes. Why not. Still pretending that thing doesn't exist, hopefully nobody will spoil it for me ever cuz I have a whole different story in my head of how it could keep going after the first book. And you know what's that? Ryle getting therapy in order to be a good father to his daughter. Like of course I am never wishing for him to be with Lily again. But that girl deserves a father, and for some reason I feel like CoHo will brush through that problem and make him a villain without any depth just for the sake of atlas who, guess what? Was never supposed to matter in the story except to give some sort of a happy ending. Sure Ryle kind of is the villain of the story, but damn that man has a daughter noe and I feel like CoHo just can't bring any depth to that. Idk, I just always knew this was a bad idea. It was literally made for the tiktok girls who obsessed over a man who had 5 minutes in a book, loved him for one stupid quote and ignored the fact that this was never about him. Sure it wasn't like that for everyone, but you can't tell me that everyone who never cared about Atlas ever wanted this book.

I gave it 2 stars. I just don’t think this needed to be a book. The only thing that we didn’t know would happen was Josh and I don’t necessarily think that added much. Atlas already had his journey and overcame is battles as a child, we saw that with his successes and he was able to make something of himself on his own. We already knew that lily and atlas would be together eventually, that ryle would be a dick about it and that he would continue to be difficult over the years. I just don’t think this necessarily needed to be a book.

I don't think that's a toxicity. Why should a person have to put up with those kinds of behaviors or feel guilty for not wanting to be bothered. Sure forgive them, but that doesn't mean you should put yourself or your safety at risk for something that would make someone else feel comfortable. Especially when they're wrong.

lily’s still writing letters to ellen at her big age?! colleen could’ve left that out and i promise we’d of been fine without it. with that being said i agree with your thoughts. i loved seeing more of atlas and lily but the book just feels pointless. DARE I SAY A CASH GRAB??? I’m so sorry

This book was entirely too long, a 320 page epilogue if you will.

I was expecting more of a plot twist or at least some form of conflict

i completely agree with your opinion. colleen made this book too woke IMO. also i could care less about atlas and his brother... i came for lily and atlas and i felt like i got so little of them

I found this book kinda underwhelming. 😂 I gave it 3 stars.

I'm definitely not super loving parts of it so far. Atlas is perfection but the intro was so trite it physically pained me lol
