The IEC is overwhelmed at the voter turnout, they never expected or planned for such high numbers, it seems the voter turnout this time is higher than that of 1994, people are fed up, they want change, but the iec is preventing them from voting because of poor planning.

Only one day to vote? Maybe they should ask Australia on how to organise voting. Schools are used to allow public to vote and most people can vote in advance if they have to work on the day in question , smells fishy to me.

I was talking about why we don't have 2 voting days while we stood in line for hours (machines were not working so they turned manual) and she mentioned that in the past they would do 2 days of voting. I'm still young so I haven't voted as much before, but this year's voting felt incredibly disorganized (more than usual)

In 2019 I registered in my hometown but I had to go back to school which was in a different province and I was allowed to vote national and provincial. This year I had registered in Kzn but had to come back to the Eastern Cape, I was only allowed to vote provincial. The funniest thing is that a fellow voter who was in the line with me had registered in my hometown just in a different ward (in town) and couldn’t vote there because of work. They made her vote provincial. They had two stations where they check the voter's roll, they had three stations where you vote and it was short-staffed. The staff was slow, unprofessional and lazy, very unprepared because they even came late. The lines were chaotic, it was a plus or minus 3-hour wait, the lines were long since 6 am and their system had a loading problem, they could only be online for thirty minutes. It was a horrible voting experience. As usual poor service delivery. The workers didn't care at all, there were volunteers outside the voting station but they were having a party and drinking.

They could have, all week prior to the actual elections accommodated the infirmed and the elderly or pensioners first at the polls. Then on subsequent days those who could attend inside of working hours, then yesterday the rest of our citizens. Even issues such as registering to vote in other areas, should be a selection as easy as clicking a button even on the day. They could do something similar for our expats living in other countries, but for some dubious reason after four years prior to the election, they couldn't plan ahead and refine this process for their own citizens? Four years?!!! Deliberate destabilization of the voting process is the stink coming out of that setup I tell you!
