It's Worse Than You Thought | Andy Stanley

It's difficult to solve a problem when you don't understand what's wrong to begin with. Many of us have been trying to solve the problem of "us" for a long time. Some of you have lost friends, family, or jobs because you couldn't solve you. Some of you have paid someone good money to solve you. But what if the real problem is that you don't know what the problem is?

His message on declare, decide, devote was excellent too, and ties to this sermon.

Seems like Sha'Uhl is describing the ego here. Or the ego that is enslaved by the flesh. The giving of the law he describes also looks like God trying to expose the shadow-self, minimizing its grip and growth. Perhaps, this is why confessing sins and forgiving in the chruch was encouraged in one of the epistles. Maybe someone who's expert in cognitive phsychology can help bring more light into this.
