Actually 4d plates are useful if you go through Dartford crossing, cameras usually capture the number plate 1 out of 10 times, but they do look terrible

So good to see the Cupra back on the channel!! 4D plates, used to be cool and popular, but so did Jimmy S.. Enough said.

Pressed and plain black gel plates are fine since they just mimic pressed ones... Proper pressed ones in black/silver on a classic car are spot on 👌 4D acrylic plates are nasty though.

I have gel plates but they look oem plus. 4d plates are for single mum of 4 kids with fluffy dice and a fluffy steering wheels

Pressed plates & the low profile gel plates are okay in my opinion. Short plates are fine too unless the car as a recess for a full size plate then it looks weird. 3D/4D Plates look god awful and ruin cars, don't get me started on the pointy 'Lambo Style' ones...

If you already have the horrendous chameleon window tint you need the 4d plates to complete the look

You defo need to paint the inside of the car floor red and get it looking nice. All that black shit really lets it down.

You may wanna look into adding a fuse inbetween the battery and the distribution block, if the worst was too happen, and the end gets disconnected you’ve got a permanent live on the loose

Might be worth checking the seal between the inner door Skin and the door. When I had my LCR I had 2 doors that were leaking between the inner skin and the door

Butyl tape works wonders for that - make sure you check under the scuttle where the engine wiring harness goes into the cabin too - leaves and other crap collect there, the foam tape rots away and you’ve got water ingress on one of your main fuse/relay panels. It’s also how the front wings start rotting. The drainage hole is about the size of a 2p piece and gets blocked so easily.

I think 4D plates are fine. If you're ordering car parts from eBay anyway, might aswell go for the full pikey mode and get a pair

I highly recommend getting yourself a trickle charger, I've been through two of that exact model of battery on my Clio and unless you drive it more or less every day I'll wager it'll be dead in a couple of months. I personally couldn't put up with it anymore and just put a heavy duty regular battery back in XD

I had that battery in my r32 binned it off after a year it’d started not holding charge, went for a deadweight one instead 1.9kg with the bracket 👌 Might be worth looking into an isolator inside aswell saves taking battery out all the time can just flick isolator and remove its key to save the batteries life

Had the same issue on a Ibiza fr 20vt, passenger side too. Must be a seat thing

Exactly the same problem with my pass door and leak too , I’ve done the leak on the pass side and it was the door rubber which is against the side of the dash it goes up and down, just needed tiger sealing 👍 on to the next job 👌

4D plates are for dash stackers and people whose family trees are bushes

I think gel plates look good but not 4D acrylic but gel I can tolerate as they are shiny and can be polished up to look shinier so gel looks classy in my opinion

Reading through the comments, it seems there’s a general consensus that 4D plates are now to be classed as categorical proof of noncery in a court of law.

landrover discovery 2s also have that door skin which is an absolute pain cause i had a window motor fail 3 times on the same door.

I agree 4d plates look awful but I think 3d plates look alright as it is like a more modern version of pressed metal plates, I’ll admit I do have some 3d plates on my car.

4D plates are basically when your parents bought you a brand new Polo 1.2 mid spec and won't allow you to mod it so you put 4D plates, wind deflectors and LED interior lights on it to say its modded

I’ve never understood the whole 4d plate thing as I’m from the states and here you get your plate and that’s it. Some states are “4d” and some are flat. I still don’t get it with your guys plate situation

personally I do not like 4d number plates just find they completely ruin the overall look of a car much rather a clean set of standards

Bout a year ago I bought a caddy. The drivers side door actuator and the rear one were fucked. Saying they were closed when they were open on the dash screen so kept auto locking. Ended up locking my key in the van but that’s another story 😂Cost me 280£ for the front door and 310£ for the rear one from gsf … then 200£ for someone to fit them. Rob dogs.

dont forget to take the sun strip off for the mot 😅
