Someone made a really interesting comment on a YT tier list video that the RE-45 and R99 are essentially the same gun unless they balance one to be trash and the other to be good. near identical on mag size, movement speed, strafe speed and fire rate. so they're limited on ways to differentiate the two. and because people have paid for skins on both these weapons they can't remove one from the game. so one will always be nerfed while the other thrives. I think he's right

They're not completely the same because RE-45 is a pistol, so your strafing speed is wild with it. Also RE-45 can be tough without a sight, because the zoom level is weird. Other than that the RE-45 has been a better alternative to the R99 for most of Apex's life. R99 is a "cult classic" and as soon as it gets buffed a little bit, everyone starts using it and then it gets nerfed immediately. It's super satisfying to shoot and I used it for most of my time playing - and most of that time it did < 300dmg with a purple mag 🤣

I wouldn't call it the worst gun. It's one of the easiest recoil patterns to control in the game and you can steal one clip with it. Just takes a lot of skill to do so.

R99 sucks but you were using 2 guns with little margin of error. Wingman you can only miss like 2 shots depending on what shield they got.

Hell even when i was a decent player 2.7kd I'd still get shit on by you I 💯 guarantee. Thankfully i don't recall ever playing against you, jankz, nmoose, itemp, gaming merchant, or Soar. Still had my fair share of 3 stacked master/predator w key dying though even though highest rank i achieved was mid plat

It’s tragic what they’ve done to this gun, must be a clerical error surely? A default basic Volt does 228dmg whilst an R-99 with the level 1 mag does what 160dmg.. must be a mistake..

@@M1d32 I completely agree they should be the other way round. And then the could do something useful like give re-45, p2020 and Mozambique movement & strafe speed that matches weaponless speed. And 0 accuracy penalty for shooting whilst airborne. That would give those guns a legitimate role without making ridiculously close to guns that should be superior to them
