To me, I think if I were the age I discovered K-pop in right now, Newjeans would’ve ended up becoming to me what ggs like Twice and SNSD are to me now. Their concepts are so refreshing and their sound is addicting and grabs you by the throat. They’re seriously so good. I cannot wait to watch them continue to evolve as someone who’s just a tad bit older than all the members. We’re all growing up together essentially. So excited you made this!

The "Coca Cola is tasty" part of Zero is a rhyme in Korean that's been around since the 1950s I believe, and is used like "Eeny meeny miny mo" is in English (to pick something randomly out of a group) so it is both shameless advertising AND a nostalgic lyric that Korean people would recognize!

Hanni was born and raised in Melbourne, so English is her first language. Danielle's childhood was spent between Korea and Australia, so she's been bilingual from the start. Minji grew up in Korea, but was an exchange student in Canada, so she is fluent but sounds more like an American. Haerin and Hyein are still learning.

Haerin and Hyein understand much more than they let on, though. Hyein actually went to an international school in Korea and read Harry Potter series in full English, so I expect her English is a little better than Haerin's, who as far as we know have had no English-speaking school experience. From the beginning, Ador aka Min Heejin stated that all 5 members of Newjeans speak both English and Korean.

Minji said in an interview she only stayed in Canada for 3 months and she admitted her english is not fluent only base level. . But Im impressed that she learned their accent in 3 months😮

@@jes4852 lol Koreans will always mostly say that their English is "not good" but it is just true that on average, newjeans members have a much higher English/Korean speaking ability than other Kpop groups, where only one or two members will be fluent while the other members have no clue whatsoever in English interviews Also its mandatory and compulsory education for all Koreans to study English through the 12 years of official education, but most idols and actors/celebrities in Korea are not exactly top scholars in Korea (if you know what i mean) and will end up being pretty bad at English if they haven't lived overseas (in which case their professional Korean will suffer)

Hyein is speaking alot more English it seems these days but Haerin fully understands English

They will release a new MV tomorrow @ 12am KST for "Cool With You" which will have 2 versions as well, just like Ditto. And they will release MVs for ASAP, Get Up & ETA as well! It's insane how much content we are getting, these girls better get paid insane. 😭

They are really touching on all nostalgic stuff!! I grew up watching PPG! And their Ditto MV reminds me of my school days too especially the rain bc it rains almost everyday in the Philippines when school starts. Their debut reminds me more of my highschool years. It is soooo weird feeling nostalgic from New Jeans (who are younger than me😭) when I grew up listening to SNSD and 2nd gen, which technically had different sound than them! One thing that keeps me coming back for their songs is the nostalgia. Strongest “emotion” I will say!

Newjeans the song was only an intro that’s why it was shorter than usual also super shy is only a bside not a title track we still have four more songs that they are releasing for their 2nd EP

They filmed Super Shy in Lisbon Portugal. Her shirt says Press Virginia Basketball. Also, there were a couple of other brand collabs. Enhypen did one with Pokemon and Ive did one with Pepsi. I think you would like the Pepsi one it doesn't mention Pepsi in it, they just show it in the video.

Loona's Choerry (well Odd Eye Circle now) has really been giving me Jessica Jung vibes with this new comeback (the live stages!) and I feel like this is the only channel where I can say that and be understood

It's so funny you mention FX because to me the sound and visuals of new jeans are very that of fx and there last promotions which min hee Jin had a big hand in over at SM, everything from visual similarities to the sound to even the branding of new jeans seems to really be in the same Vein of F(x) and to be honest that influence of deep house in FX 4walls album definitely transferred over to new jeans. I LOVED FX and I really love new jeans as well. If you want to actually go back and listen to the 4 walls album but mix in new jeans music and it fits in really consistently across the album.

My only complain about this new EP is that the songs are hella short! Still bopping anyway!

Those gold outfits were god awful it was like party city discount rack met f21 discount rack and a dance program at a high school bought it for their costume closet. At some point I stopped mentioning it, but I never really got over Cookie making me feel weirded out, so I'm pretty biased still. I think it was too much of a reality check of the exploitation in kpop even though I've been a fan since 2008, so why now, right? I dunno, I guess most groups make me forget how orchestrated kpop is, but every little thing about NewJeans seems overly orchestrated to the point that it takes away the illusion that kpop is all rainbows and butterflies. Sounds cringe but I can't think of another way to put it. I know kpop is actually full of shady sh-t, I just don't want to be reminded of it if nothing will be done about it unless kpop fans demand it, but I totally understand not wanting any negativity affecting the girls. Was trying to keep this short and not be naggy, I tried my best lol 😅
