Reminds me of the running gag on Ned's Declassified back in the day. It didn't matter what the kids were doing at the time. Someone would come by and say "Hey do you guys have hall passes?" They all quickly flash their passes. That person says "OK great," and leaves.

I was born in 92 and I never had to have a hall pass and the only “hall monitor” was always just a random teacher casually asking you where you’re going. They RARELY cared. Worst case scenario, you’re just told to tuck in your shirt. (That was the dress code). Shirt tucked in AND you had to wear a belt or they would provide you with one. 😂

We have digital hall passes now and they suck. I got marked late multiple times because the teacher didnt see the digital pass. Sometimes people can forget to turn the pass off when they return to class and some people dont even use them (like me using the bathroom during lunch.)

My high school didn't have hallway monitors because it was all outside because it was in southern CA It seemed like you could pretty much walk around at any time and nobody would say anything. It was pretty lax. Good 90s times. The idea of hallway monitors always made me laugh. Little petty future cops in training lmfao
