    Obviously they had a lot of talking behind the scene, so they know what to do with a house. Owners are pretty involved in all of this

That wall covering in the foyer is amazing & the original 'wood slat' living room walls look great painted the soft sage. That kitchen is awesome. I love your videos and all your designs. The homes are greatly improved with your renovations. I like how you save as much old character as you can and reuse and rebuild. The only thing that upsets me is when they start taking a sledge hammer to what looks like good reusable cabinets. Can't the cabinets be taken out intact and donated to a thrift center, Habitat for Humanity? Thank you.

    It’s been an errand, you guys gave this couple a truly stunning historical yet current home put speaks full of love from the work you did by making the dining room table and so many other things in the house but putting your personal touch everywhere inside and out… I was wondering about Painting all of that beautiful would you found under the wallpaper and I know Ben was too but Erin, that’s what I love ♥️about you❣️❣️ you have great instincts and the color palette which you chose for this house was just awesome in the flow from room to room was amazing❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️ What you did in that kitchen was beyond remarkable. You gave a big family the best gift you could give them by giving them a place together over meals and conversations while mom and dad are cooking and prepping and they can join in without being too crowded and they can have their friends over and as they get older invite through dates and then when they’re married bring the grandchildren and you both just gave them a life of history in this home in SO MANY BEAUTIFUL ROOMS WHERE CONVERSATION IS WELCOLMED😊💕❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️ last, what you did to the entrance with leveling the front porch made all the difference in the curb appeal… It is just so stunning and superb an excellent and all the words I could keep saying and they’re all true. I’m glad you were able to keep the pillars!❣️❣️ I love you both and you hit this one out of the ballpark. God bless you both for all you do for others~ I love you♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

    This transformation shows a lot of creativity, and respect for historical context. So much better than the tiresome modern farmhouse look. Why in the world everyone wants their interior decorating to look the same as their neighbors is beyond me. Shop for older decorating books for ideas, and stop buying farmhouse furniture made in China! Create a unique space that cannot be found on the websites where folks get their junk ( you know the ones... LOL).

    Why tear walls down especially in old homes. I'm assuming old houses are way better built than the ones now. But getting rid of extra doors, makes perfect sense.

  • @imperviousdonut

    @imperviousdonut

    The old things are better isn't always true! Often times especially in the south the weather or termites damage wood. They need to make sure they're inspecting but also following the homeowners wishes. Old things only last is properly maintained and cared for regularly

    I love what Ben & Erin plus a fabulous crew are doing for Laurel but the town's inspector did totally miss the termite HEAVY damage to at least 1 house & it was mentioned as well. I have wondered if Laurel's inspector has been replaced or re-trained. Any good inspector doing a job for a very old home should always get down under the house. Great quality work done by the entire crew and they honestly pointed out the missed termite extensive damage that the 'inspector' entirely missed. I would buy a home this crew renovated any day.

    What is the proper depth of a great front porch like that so you can comfortably hang with your friends? I would add soffit LEDs to the interior of the front porch for soft lighting at night in a 1500- 2700 Kelvin dim to warm type LED.

    Not to be negative but have you ever noticed on decorating shows they never put a TV in a room, ever seen a home without a TV. The challenge would be to decorate a room with a TV blended in.

  • @imperviousdonut

    @imperviousdonut

    2 жыл бұрын

    Well the reason for that is that a TV isn't pretty or decorative. It's meant for entertainment. They like to show a home at its most beautiful. The home owner brings in their own TV and either spends a ton of money on those TV that turn into picture frames or settle for function

So, everyone who thinks Laurel looks so sweet - probably not.
