Listening to this while remembering past... I used to be an active boy who will speak to everyone near me and playfully laugh to each other. And when outside is getting dark, go back inside house and start to hear my parent's old 90's song while waiting my turn to go bath. And eat dinner together while watching some old tv programs. I wonder, When did i start to change into unsociable grownups with boring lifestyle and with nothing to enjoy when coming back home...

It helps when you put your phones away (or have a power-out) and build an ikea-cabinet together with your parents or something. The phone and the internet is like having another world actively asking your attention, while you're busy focussing on your life. I'm currently supposed to paint, I'm busy with a project that I'm very excited about. But..here I am...typing.

Summer of 1995, I was 14 years old. The last year of Jr. High was looming and I couldn’t wait for my friends and I to be the queens of the 9th grade. Still, as the summer slipped away I couldn’t help but feel a bit sad that my seemingly endless days by the pool, lake or friend’s house would soon be replaced by sitting at a school desk under the harsh fluorescent ceiling lights. Aaah to be young in the 90s again.

The picture depicts such a rare time of evening. Once in a while on a summer afternoon you might be at the right place and time and for a brief window of time everything will stand still and you will just be one with the summer moment. Nothing is missing, everything is there, just this pervading peace and completeness before time starts again.

In the summer of 1995, I was 11 years old. I loved video games, and my Game Boy was my buddy. Japanese elementary school students have about a month off in August, and I spent every day playing with my friends and being carefree. When I returned home, my grandfather was watching sumo on TV, and after a while my parents came home and it was time for dinner. Summer means high incoming clouds, sudden thunderstorms, and noisy cicadas ....... These things have not changed, but the way I feel has changed completely.

I can't think how difficult it can be for you, your friends and your best friend's family... I hope you, your friends and ypur best friend's family can recover quickly... It's probably not very easy, you should also keep making new friends and take care of your old friends, because your friends, both new and old, your own family, your best friend's family, and also all your aquaintances, and importantly youself, can all help you... Sorry if i am not feeling with what i am writing very much, but you probably should probably follow some of the suggestions i made to you, very sorry again..

Ten years old in a Baltimore suburb outside on a hot sticky evening playing pretend with the neighborhood kids until the street lights come in. My dad hollering for me to come inside and get ready for dinner. Last high fives with everyone before we all break off, promising to meet up the following day and pick up where we left off from. Running inside the house and getting hit with that cool crispness of the air conditioning as I wash up for Wednesday evening dinner: Spaghetti!! And then a night of watching Cartoon Network on the downstairs den TV until the wee hours before falling asleep on the couch to Oh Canada, or Space Ghost Coast to Coast .

Damn! I lost the premiere this time! Anyway, another beautiful mix. I'll certain going to use it while i'm smoking and drinking on the terrace. Even the image is incredibile. Guys, 80's and 90's kids could be called the "Nostalgia Generation". Nostalgia hits everyone, of course, but how many generation could says: Yes! I was living at the time when everything looks possibile and colorfull, while you couldn't even image a future this dark? Every day, at the time, was a miracle and you felt so safe inside your quite small world. I remember the little coutry town where I was living as kid! I'll never felt so calm and happy like when I was there. Now I live in a city (not so big, but still a city) and everything makes noises, people who lives with me looks like even don't know what "calm" meaning. Last summer i went back to my old house, in the country side. When i was there i noticed that I doesn't need my earphone to shut up the world around me. That feels maked my cry and whe my girl asked to me "What's wrong?" I just says: "Everything has gone in the wrong way". She told to me "Well, but it's not over". I suppose we have to wait a little more. Even the 70's were dark, than the 80's and 90's comes and everyone misses them. Maybe it's normal. Maybe, in the future, we could live another few years like the old one. Like Bukowski said: There is time, and if there isn't, that's okay even. Again sorry for my bad english, I'm still studing it! Hope to see more of your mixes Retro and thx again for this one!

It's 1995, I'm a sophomore in high school. I get off the subway on a cool Friday evening anticipating a relaxing weekend. My book bag full of textbooks is hanging off my right shoulder by one strap, the way the cool kids carried it. As I walk thru the small park in my neighborhood I spot a few friends on a bench smoking chronic with some chics from around the corner. I feel a small tinge of anxiety because I had a slight crush on one of the gals. I say whats up, they respond in kind. They tell me to come chill, I decline because I'm too tired. I get home, dropped the bag and turn on the radio. Some old 80's sounding instrumental is playing on the college radio station. I doze off dreaming about a better future. If only I had a clue how much I'd miss those days.

We actually got free passes to see Dazed and Confused before it came out and ended up with a lot of swag, including a patchouli car air freshener that somehow survived for at least a decade and a half and stuck up the first two places I had. If anyone here plays/has played Black Ops Cold War, walking around the multiplayer map "The Pines" on a solo server with no one around really hits with nostalgia like these mixes. You hear the 80s music, echo-y mall announcements, and the mall is vacant other than fully-stocked shops with tons of 80s references. If there is a way to just be able to free roam that map without any HUD or weapons in hand and put Vaporwave over it, I think I'd reach Vaporwave heaven lol.

I was, ahem, 23 in 1995. I was more a 70s/80s kid, and I remember I really hated the 90s when I lived it. It was all too much, too artificial, a reign of faking and easy money. It was also the end of an era, the end of a century. Now as i've reached 50, I realized it was the best decade I had. Experience teaching me life is often a matter of irony.

Great mix! Seeing the blue glow of a CRT computer with the red/peach glow of the sunset is phenomenal. BTW, what software do you use to develop the effects and intro of your video(s)..? Just curious, thanks.

@user-vq7ng8pi4b Congrats :) The Fall of the Soviet Union was indeed the end of the 80s Era in 1991 with 1992 being the transfer of the fading out of the 80s culture into the 90s Era, where by 1993 the 90s era would begin :)

His name is Aaron Campbell. He also did the album art for The Midnight on some of their albums (Kids, Monsters) and as part of it he made a ton of supplemental art. I actually bought this print from him and hung it in my office. Super dope work from this guy!
