it's SKATE TOUR TIME | flaneurz, moxi, bonts, custom vans + tips for first time sk8 buyers!

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

watch this video at 2x speed, trust me. (or is it bc I have adhd and can’t even stand to watch my own videos at 1x speed? lol)
I uploaded a lot of videos using my detachable sneaker rollerskates on Tiktok, and a lot of people always asked about them, and about my other skates, so today... I have made a video of all of the skates I own! I hope that this video is helpful in one way or another, especially for those looking to start skating for the first time. I burned through a lot of cash learning about a lot of different skates lol.
Disclaimer: I am literally only 1 year into skating, and have a lot of gaps in my knowledge. (for example i accidentally put in a picture of ABEC9 bearings while talking about ABEC5 bearings lmao) My video is probably not 100% accurate, and there are definitely better resources for information out there, but since there were a lot of people asking just which skates I have, I wanted to make this video.
In this video, I go over my rollerskating/skating experience, and then dive into the skates that I own. I have a lot of TBT clips overlayed throughout the video, so enjoy watching bambi baby skater clara grow hehe
skates I owned:
1. sure grip fames, bought at Sin City Skates in San Diego
2. moxi lollys in color clementine, bought at Toe Stop Derby Shop
3. flaneurz custom rollers with nike bazers, bought from flaneurz
4. vans custom skates x 3, shoes from vans, avanti magnesium plates from sin city
5. bonts parkstars, bought from bonts thanks to Shorty
6. flaneurz with adidas -- thank you flaneurz!

    Off the top of my head, I don't know. You have to contact Flaneurz for every custom order, and get their preapproval before you can send them your shoe of choice. If they reject that shoe, then :') thats that I guess. T.T thank you for watching my video!! Let me know if you have any other questions :)

    Great video! I want to get into skating aswell! Do you know of any channels that goes into detail about skate parts, wheels, toestops, and cleaning? Also with your accident did you land a trick wrong at the park? I am a little bit a apprehensive about falling and getting hurt but I know that comes with the hobby and cant really be avoided.

  • @clara.hwajoon

    @clara.hwajoon

    hey! as far as channels that go into detail, I honestly just googled and watched a huge variety of videos, and also looked through rollerskating hashtags on IG for quick IGTV / reels videos. As for the accident, it was a bit of a freak accident. Wasn't doing any tricks, I just got too relaxed and fell straight onto my face when doing a 180 in transition in the pool....I think it's always best to wear protective gear, but that's all preference, so you do you! (but dont let this feeling of "I don't look cool with xyz on" stop you from feeling safer with it on.) Good luck!!!

    The Flaneurz skates have such a cool concept. I was just wondering since these are just street shoes aren’t they lacking ankle support?!

  • @clara.hwajoon

    @clara.hwajoon

    2 жыл бұрын

    it def depends on the shoe, and preference! a lot of people always gripe about ankle support, but the reality is that it's not a must have -- in fact, a lot of top jam skaters often don't tie up their skates all the way up the boot, just for, idk, perhaps better range of motion? If anything, your ankle becomes stronger from the "lack" of ankle support :) so I haven't really noticed it. The only thing I will say is that if there isnt anything hold the skate to your foot at the base of the ankle, then it does feel like it'll fall off, but just from gravity. That's mostly why I like having the high tops. I do think the low tops are a cool look tho.... maybe my next ones i'll try it out and let ya'll know :)

    I just bought regular skates (Flaneurz and slides were too expensive TT_TT), and honestly the ankle support is really uncomfortable, I can't get down in a squat properly due to how high they are. I can imagine more people like me prefer lower skates

    You order the custom flaneurz online, and then input which shoes you want! Then they contact you to confirm whether its possible (it is with blazers) and they give u the OK to send the shoes to their warehouse with all the instructions.

    hey! i hope you are doin well. i have a few questions. do sure grip rock plates last a few years? ive heard they crack and break over time with out door skating as well as have less power transfer when u push. should i go for iconic or premium? ive heard that the roll line plates are a little heavier but provide longer lasting support and durability. 2.57 kg for iconic and 2.68 kg for premium. i really wanna get these soon and would like to know what you think. i only want to buy flanurez once so i really want them to last. i look forward to hearing from u!

  • @clara.hwajoon

    @clara.hwajoon

    2 жыл бұрын

    honestly, the sure grip rock plates last a long time. I don't know what kind of skating those broken plates were put through, but even with skate park skating (my first pair of skates were not flaneurz had those plates) my skates were fine. You shouldn't need the heavier more expensive ones, tbh. [sorry flaneurz lol] the chances of the plate breaking are low and outdoor skating is nowhere near as aggressive as park skating. Nothing to worry about.

    @@vhirlo well if you're trying to do street skating aka grinding on ledges n shit, flaneurz doesn't recommend doing that. the plates are fine, but the attachment stuff they don't guarantee to survive that type of usage. and im talking long enough of a time that you stop being obsessed with skating and stop skating lolol :D or longer than your shoe's lifetime. your shoe will die before your plate does. :D hope that helps.
