It's simple, We kill the Cryptlord - Bronze League Heroes Episode 20
Ойындар
This Human bronze player has a plan, it might not be the most sophisticated and macro intensive scheme in the world, but it's simple: Kill the Cryptlord... except, this is going to be a bit harder than he probably anticipated.

I like watching this series because when I played WC3 originally I was incredibly young, and didn't really understand how RTS games worked very well. I thought along the lines of massing an army of units that are expensive, didn't really think about what countered what, and would buy heroes that I thought were coolest like Warden or Crypt Lord. Best armies in my mind was something like a Cryptlord with 3/3 Frost Wyrms because they're strong, can hit air and ground, and can fly! What is better! While it is undeniable that you could actually learn how to play, and the largest barrier was that I was a silly kid, the era reminds me of gaming back when you had to figure stuff out for yourself a lot more. That you could only really learn through watching others and asking in a lot more intimate ways than through reddit posts or guides online from clean hubs instead of some weirdo individually hosted sites with a bunch of nonsense on it and some good tips interspersed. Nobody really knew what the hell we were doing in my friends group. I miss it a lot, and while it is cool to see where the scene is now for all competitive games and how far the scene has come and the mastery people have, I will still always feel the most kinship with someone who just buys a Crypt Lord because he looks cool.

Same, I loved going Warden with mountain giants, chimeras and hyppos because it crushed the AI and because it looked cool. Good times.
Imagine a chef watching two four year olds try to bake a cake. That is this series.
Yes! more Brone league heroes!
Love this series! I actually think is good because most players (including me) are from these levels, and want to know what to change in our logics. Thanks!

Dude, I'm terrible at wc3, but watching him use his wyrms to tank was so frustrating. Focusing the altar when 1 attack from the wyrm would have killed the berserker.
Cryptlord is cool.

this Bronze series is so funny, we can feel you're having fun Grub commenting those clever actions and strats :p
"Am5f7ave" "This guy is called Arthas." "It starts with the A... and there's another a in it..." checks out mate
Thank you for explaining where bronze players go wrong, you're teaching a lot of us that way. You're awesome
WC3 is on sale btw
Grubby, thanks for the bronze league heroes. It helps me because I need to be studying for my final exams in med school (surgery rn) and these videos really uplift my mood everyday and keep me sane
Arthas vs Arthas: what an Arthas. Arthas.
this series is quickly becoming my favorite thing to watch :D
Arthas to Arthas before being killed in the magical city of Arthas (altered Quote): "It pains me to even looking at Arthases game"
I wonder if it wouldn't be possible for someone to create a course to online play using the map editor. Also, it might help to have AI capable of imitating online matches to ease new players into the game and let them test things out without the pressure of having to go up against a real person. I always felt there was more it could be done with the AI. The one in WC3, even on insane, it's kinda of braindead. Then again, if new players would learn the game "offline" before entering online matches we wouldn't have series like this anymore. Also, look at me talking about a 20+ years old game as if it was just released yesterday.

I'm practicing vs AI right now and it does things like building Ancient of War in a place where units cannot get out of the base, and uprooting is never on its mind to fix this. Or having its expansion canceled a few times in a row, only to decide it must be safest to build that Great Hall next to the fortress in the main base instead. Makes for some funny but disappointing moments.

I play around this by not going aggressive on the expansions early. You need to let them have certain advantages or its no fun to play against. @@daviddavidson1450
Thanks for the bronze level explanation, Grubby! Love this series.
Hearing an analytical mind's take on low lvl games is very insightful
Hey Grubby, really like the Bronze Leauge stuff of yours first and foremost. I am right now playing on around 1300-1400 mmr and was wondering if you also could go for some casting on this mmr-range, since i think many of us would benefit from it (maybe not so funny but informativ), maybe something like Silver Leauge Savages or Gold Leauge Gladiators? Anyway, Keep it up man!
Finally I understood humans build order! I always had wood deficiency. Thx Grubby
At the end when you were pointing out you have to guess what they leveled up since you cant see it on replays. On w3champions i have a different replay hud where i can see what they skilled.
Mr. Editor I see your Batman reference in the thumbnail. Well done.
Was on the edge of my seat for the second match. I can't believe the guy lost so many wyrms.
Been talking about this series with my brother. It's for sure inspiring me to try out WC3 Champions
The last game actually made me want to play Undead for the first time in my life just to rush for wyrms with a cryptlord.
The armpit expo, lmao.
where is the intro song from again?
I'm still surprised players dont use wyrms to hit towers to freeze them. I'm a noob myself and cant micro too much, but when I see that situation I think "I can just hit the tower with my frost wyrm and then I wont have to think about my frost wrym anymore"
beautiful!
this will be epic, as always
Your content was entertaining as it was. But this series - its something I can relate to as a noob player. Great stuff! Also I saw you were going to play Hearthstone soon, can you tell more about that?
finally my favourite series
Endgame goal for Endgame is to get to his.....endgame :D
is there any reason to have 4 peons in 4 burrows when 4 peons in one have higher dps? split damage ?
I get surprised about how you relate them to pros who do these builds, I think for a lot of these people if they copy pros they'd probably be higher, but at the same time I'm someone who never did wall offs or anything yet these people do so that might say a bit (tbf I'm mostly a campaign player tho)
I got excited for every vid
I'm sure if I play this game while Grubby watches me he would give up on life.
Hey Grubby I have been thoroughly enjoying the deep dives. I have never actually played wc3 before other than campaign. I am curious to why people would choose to have only 1 hero rather than multiple? Also really loving the drastic difference and breakdowns of bronze level play comparative to meta high elo strategies.
@jeannetitor
Ай бұрын
he explains it sometimes, exp gets spread between 2 or 3 if you don't control the distance while creeping making it slower overall, plus it's easier to micro having only to focus on 1 or 2 heroes instead of 3, they also make easy targets for enemy players if they are low levels... games may not last long enough for them to reach significant levels. then there's the simple fact u need tier 3 to have 3 heroes and u may not need it for the units ur producing plus it costs a lot and takes long... so many factors to consider...

@@jeannetitor Ahhh ok, thanks for the detailed reply. Wasn’t aware of the tier requirement that makes a lot more sense.
the fences are called NADAR (has history with a French guy that was making a balloon trip or something)
Endgame was all about the endgame wyrms
we killl the batman vibes
The bronze mentality in a nut shell from someone who spent time there; "I know generally how to start the first 2 min, and I know where I want to end up, army wise, and I have a rough estimate on resources needed. The rest of it? The "mid game" where most of the game plays out? No idea. If I think it gets me to end game I'll build it when I can so I dont forget it later on and dont have what I need to get that army."
slowest unit in the formation movement be like: *оur movement speed*
I love the serie!
not to mention "Ted" fiend buildorder
Is it just me or is the music/game sounds a lot louder than normal? I was having trouble hearing you and thought the headphones were fucked but they work good on other videos. Love the content
I had to watch "The culling of arthas" from Nixxiom after seeing this
That type of fence is called a "stanchion" in English.
Warcraft 3 is on sale. 50% off. Im gonna go bronze it up. Thank you Grubby

Love u gwubby
Well Happy also started to play Cryptlord first, so o longer a meme pick

What is a bronze league and how to get there?
"you want them to stay because your wyrm came out" lmao. okay I'm done
May be bronze, but i'm sure they're having more fun than any bracket.
how do you use 3 wyrms like that... to towers... wtf
endgame so literally

To be fair it's the commentary by Grubby that makes those games good. Watching those bronze players without commentary of any kind probably wouldn't be particularly interesting in itself, where as pro-play is interesting by its own nature.
