It's packing day! What we're taking on our Sturgis / Yellowstone motorcycle trip

I'm packing the bike for our Sturgis and Yellowstone trip, and wanted to show you what we take and where it all goes. We travel pretty light, because we always pick up extra stuff at the rally and the National Parks (t-shirts, hats, hoodies... you name it). However, the loadout shown here will get us through two weeks of long distance riding and tent camping on our 2021 Harley-Davidson Ultra Limited. We will be tent camping at both Yellowstone and at the Buffalo Chip in Sturgis.

What is the brand of the dry bag?

Earth Pak waterproof dry bag… the 55L version. We keep wet items in there when traveling, to keep the moisture out of our tour pack and panniers (we pull out the wet items when we stop to let them dry). We are going to try something new… we are going to use it as a ice chest when we are camping at the Buffalo Chip. O_o Won’t keep the ice from melting, but it’ll be good to keep drinks cold for a day or two, I’m thinking. 😜

What are the cots you have and do you sleep comfortable?

SMLFIT Compact Camping Cot - we wanted something lightweight but sturdy. There are lighter and stronger options, but they are more expensive. We wanted to try them out first and see if we liked them. Like you said, comfort was a concern so we wanted to try something good but cheaper first… Our opinion is that cots are awesome! We will be looking to upgrade them to get more compact, lighter options in the next year. Nothing wrong with these, but space on a motorcycle is a premium, and weight is always a concern. So shaving weight and volume is always a high priority for us.

@@2upLiving one of those would work great for me solo camping on the bike. I'm tired of my air mattress leaking down in the night. Thanks..
