YOU ARE THE MAN !!!!!!! Smaller displacement more efficient engines have been the trend for a long time...
That would be cool but more importantly we just want a diesel that won't go into limp mode while towing in the wilderness 😂
Actually increased displacement can improve emissions. Mercedes Benz did this throughout the 80’s, 90’s, and 00’s. Ex 190D 2.0 vs emission complaint 2.2 diesel.

The Getty Adventure has a much better video about this engine. Because diesel engines are tested based off their nox emissions running an 8.3 liter would cause lower cylinder pressures and less heat therefore less nox emissions. Sure it’s less efficient but that doesn’t matter because the trucks aren’t tested on that
PREACH IT- WE LOVE IT💯🇺🇲💯🇺🇲💯
Glad you have the guts to tell it like it is or can be in our future
100%. FJB!!! I believe the Cummins engine brake is better in the I6 because the longer stroke. It had more torque advantage on the crank.

The Democrats are hypocrisy. The production of an ICE engine is cleaner than lithium batteries. This electric BS must stop. I love my 2023 Chevy Silverado 1500 LTZ Z71 with the 5.3L V8. I get decent mileage on my 5.3. I don't have a lead foot so I see 14 City 23 Highway. I don’t like to drive past 75 because anything north of 75 and your MPG goes down considerably. I live in Columbus, Ohio for reference. If you stay out of the gas the N/A V8's can get good MPG's. At 70 mph I have seen 25.3 MPG on I-70.

I agree that the rumored 8.3L Duramax is nothing more than just talk, I can't see GM doing that in todays world. I will say though, the idea of having a beefed up I6 Duramax in the HD's would be pretty awesome. That would give GM a unique position in the HD market, offering both diesel types, I6 & V8.

0-60 times are not a proper performance standard for diesel torque.
If it’s true it’ll be choked out as FK thanks to EPA emissions. #FJB.
I agree about the politics, but I don't necessarily agree about the challenge in making a bigger engine work in the current regulatory environment. A bigger displacement engine can run lower stresses, and that might actually have benefits that help reduce emissions. Then again, emissions targets are constantly shifting, and places like California are straight up banning ICE vehicles, so the idea of any new or big changes in ICE is kind of doubtful.... We will see.
You know what else sucks, besides this admin?? All the other states that latch onto and copy Commifornia's emissions policies......

Like a cancer all other liberal woktards think it's the greatest whatever Newsome does.
I think an 8.3 liter will fit in the 3/4 and 1 ton truck, no problem. Remember the Cadillac El Dorado of the 70s? They came 500 cubic inch motors, that's 8.1 liters.
i just bought a 2024 F 250 with the HO power stroke j 500 HP 1200 FT lbs amazing puling power and best of all its a FORD
Is there enough room between the radiator and the firewall for an I6 in a GM truck ? Realistically I don't see them putting a 8.3 in the 2500 , and possibly not the 3500 . The towing capacity and GCWR will go thru the roof into the 40,000 lb range or higher , making much bigger brakes mandatory . A heavier duty frame may also be required . That being said , could you imagine a 3500 dually on 22.5s to clear the brakes and sitting about six inches taller than they do now ? Or how about a regular cab , medium duty , with a ten foot long pickup bed , similar to the Longhorn pickups they built from '68-'72 ?
Larger displacement will have lower cylinder pressure, lesser heat and less stress on the emissions equipment I'd think
Right on everything you said!
An 8.3L big-block gas (without AFM) engine from GM seems far more likely than a complex, and expensive 8.3L diesel. The I6 6.7L Cummins sounds great until you start trying to get to the back of the motor halfway under the dash; #5 and #6 fuel rails are a PITA to get to!
@bigmurph1447
2 ай бұрын
6.7l cummins is easy to work on compared to a duramax or powerstroke. Plus 6.7l cummins only has one fuel rail I think u mean fuel line
@Tiovergudo
2 ай бұрын
HD GM trucks do not use AFM and never have included their current 6.6 gas
Powerstroke high output destroys the duramax. I traded my 22 Silverado 2500 in for a 24 f250, and there is a big difference in power. Gets the load up to speed alot quicker than the duramax.
I'd like to see a modern diesel with a similar idea of hybrid the Tundra platform has where it adds HP/TQ. Imagine the fuel economy if the hybrid system could supply the power required to get this big truck + trailer from a dead stop to a set speed then your diesel starts to aid in output. And under certain circumstances it can utilize both i.e major head wind, and the hybrid system helps keep it in the 10th gear while towing. Build it universal so it can be utilized behind the 6.6L Gas as well.
Just subbed. But I think they will make a 8.3l but its going to be for medium duty trucks. The l5p platform has a ways to go before its topped out. The trans is what needs to be beefed up.
Love your videos brother. Keep it up!
I’m picking up what you’re putting down brotha. Great video. We need to teach them go woke go broke.
The current Duramax has plenty power for today. I have a new F450 HO 6.7L, too much power honestly. So much torque management really isn’t useful for me. My Exhaust brake in the HO is strong. And honestly, I know you are an ISB fan boy but they are hardly even worth a mention anymore. We are in full agreement on one thing, TODAYS Democrats SUCK…
Massive mining operations that are now booming upon in North America are not worried about the price of fuel. They need vehicles that provide capabilities that so far are only being provided by Dodge. Ford and GM need to work on the reliability of their 10 speed automatic transmission as well. Make no mistake tho the market for *MASSIVE* displacement engines from the likes of John Deere and Caterpillar is booming so expect GM to enter into upon this trend and in a big way. Full size truck market (F150, GMC Sierra, Ram 1500, Toyota Tundra, Nissan Titan now Tesla Cybertruck) definitely hit an air pocket in sales excepting the Tesla Cybertruck. Would appear to be a good time to be in the market for one of those platforms 🤔 🤔 🤔 🤔 🤔 🤔
Dropping truth bombs!
One of your best videos so far. Thank you.
I’ve had both a LMM 6.6 Duramax and now own a LM2 3.0 in a half ton platform. At the beginning of the video I knew exactly what you were going to say. I think an inline 6 in a larger displacement for HD trucks would be a win for GM, especially with torque. It’s all about towing gains and fuel economy with these HD trucks anymore. If they lose HP numbers who cares, it’s not a race car.
I’ll be fine with my 6.6 all the 8.3 will do is eat more fuel and not get that much more result
The 8.3 size would be lower compression lower NOX. Maybe no DEF needed. A+. More displacement, more power, better reliability. These 6.6 and 6.7 diesels are turned up so much they become unreliable with all the BS emissions systems. I believe they should bring back the 8.1L gas engine and finish the design using the best LS technology and build the large displacement diesel for the heavy duty trucks. If you really use it to pull, it's needed.
Oh snap jb. You doing that comparison video you told me you was going to do. These are the 2 model you asked me about last week. Except i wss looking at the lt silverado agaisnt the sle.
I would say the 8.3 would be for medium duty 4500 and up GMs. And of course it will be derated.
Not everyone is giving up on ICE engines. I own a couple diesels and other gas V8’s. I have no interest in hybrids or electrics.

@@bobbrinkerhoff3592 The main reason I'm saying diesel is because of a rumor about 2 yrs ago. Power was claimed at over 500 and similar torque to recent HO PS. GM generally doesn't release a engine like such until a full update. Another gas option could still come also. This recent LP5 update could carry over to keep prices down. GM has to be competitive on all trim levels.
People are getting rid of their large displacement gassers? The 7.3 and 6.6 don’t count? And what advantage would a more powerful diesel have? The limit is the truck body and physics.
Yeah buddy
Why isn't the left tolerant of my diesel and big motors? They can barely get the 6.6 in the bay, how are they going to fit in am 8.3. I'll believe it when I see it. But I've read a bigger engine will be easier on emissions while producing more power 🤷🏿♂️. The v8s are producing great power. My Superduty is powerful as hell. Would I take more power, hell yes but the hot Superduty is the first truck where I felt I didn't need a tune and I don't crave one. It would be cool to see a hybrid HD for that power.
@jeffwill4923
2 ай бұрын
There's a chance it could be a gas but 8.3L diesel can fit. Update in stroke and bore is not going to increase size of this current engine. After watching TFL tow test with 6.7L power stroke HO displacement route looks better. Why because SD dropped boost. With increase in displacement you don't need all that boost.
Man, you being a Trump supporter makes me even happier to watch your content! Go woke, go broke!
I don't believe emission systems will ever go away there's too much money involved from DEF to parts and repairs it's a whole separate industry no matter who's elected I mean we already had a guy for 4 years that could have done away with it a majority controlled house that could have done something about it with all the money and lobbying in politics it probably would be a political death sentence even though it's at the American citizens expense .
No I doubt it but if they did needs 700 HP 1400TQ
If they build an 8.3 I would think it would be for a different class of vehicle. But if they do build it and they put it in pickups hopefully it’s the same or slightly power with better fuel mileage and more reliable emissions. I don’t see GM going away from the v8 architecture for the big engine for pickups.
My man is based! I love it!
The larger displacement would actually help with emissions. A 400 horsepower with a larger vs smaller engine the bigger engine can acheive better emissions. That’s actually the reason GM might go with a bigger engine.
I love it buddy. I just don’t see how anyone can set down and look at what these Democrats support and what their policies are and then say that is the way things should be lol. It’s goofy stupid. They are so far out in left field at this point it’s pitiful. It use to be the difference in Republicans and Democrats were mostly how taxes worked. They both use to atleast love this country. But at this point I don’t see how a Democrat supporter could say they love America. They want to change everything about it. As for the 8.3 Duramax, I don’t know. I wish they would make an 8.3 big block Chevy with the current small block technology.
Emission diesel making 400+ hp and 800+ tq could get the same mileage as a pre-emission diesel truck. It happened. I don’t see the gasser version in GM getting the bump in liters. It will be in the Duramax. All manufacturers are getting away from naturally aspirated engines. Coming to the HD truck sector eventually.

If GM does a gas 8.3L or larger it will likely be a different block. I do recall 6.6L heads are different from their LS/LT. Gas engine might need more investment vs diesel.
They are saying the 8.3 is for a 2027 4500 truck.
He is 100% right. This is a woke society. I love the duramax. I have 3, and I will never buy any other diesel ever. 8.3l would be amazing to buy but let's see how much it is loaded denali ultimate is 100k+ that has to be another 20k motor or something crazy. Love the vids JB keep em coming!!

All of the big three have ENOUGH power. The big three NEED to focus on reliability, serviceability, functionality, etc. The Duramax and Powerstroke NEED the exhaust brake to compete with the Cummins in bith performance and functionality.
Its weird how they are hypocritical though. I mean the big cities they all cramped up in are more toxic to environment than any other place. Its just they ship all the bad stuff out of sight. I just want a cummins in a Super duty. Love everything else on the truck but my 6.7 power stroke scares me long term and I am serious about maintenance.
would rather see them turbo charge the 6.6l gas
Sad, really brother
Thanks for the great video's and you just showed me how much you and I are aligned! God bless you and your family! My nephew has a 2022 F-250 and just had to have his CP4 pump replaced under warranty. It cratered and they replaced the injectors and fuel lines also. My 2018 Ram 1500 Ecodiesel is now scheduled to have the CP4 replaced under a recall notice. It's been making noise for 2 years now if I don't add some lubricant to the fuel tank each time I fill up. Seafoam works great, but expensive. I've been using HotShots everyday lubricant and it's working fine.
If I could afford to put a blower on a 7.3 gasser I'd do it
