I have been blessed with great family and friends, but after 41 years of logging I all of a sudden found myself 53 years old and production falling is getting hard. Today was a good axe making day. I just finished making a replacement handle for my axe. Started with a 3ft fire log and shaped it into something of barbaric beauty (I went with much more massive handle to match my hands). It took better part of the weekend but satisfaction from completing it is insane.

Yah i have a 365 .it's a great saw ! The only difference between it and a 372 are baffles in the transfer port covers and the low top air filter. The baffles are easily removed with a dremel, i did that and removed the base gasket ,did a muffler mod ,unlimited coil ,saw runs great ! A pair of pro dogs from Bailey's and a full wrap bar also from Bailey's .they say it won't fit on an xtorq but it will .i sometimes run a 42" bar to cut hardwood stumps low and it handles it. Love that saw !

Buckin' I just got a Cold Steel Trail Boss Axe on Saturday. I had it out that very afternoon. Its a nice little axe. I was skeptical of it. Its sports a 2 lb 9 oz Greenland type head, has heft to it but well balanced. 26 inch American Hickory handle. Decent factory edge, perfect for me. A couple strokes with a flat file wouldn't hurt. I had some balsam fir in the backyard seasoning from the fall. It splits decent size rounds, like nothing. 6-10 inch rounds are perfect. A great gift for anyone at a 32 American dollar price range. COLD STEEL DIDN'T GIVE ME THE AXE. I DON'T BENEFIT FROM COLD STEEL IN ANY WAY. Its just a great budget axe, thus far. Merry Christmas sir!

Hey Bucking - that axe head you are setting up - exactly the same shape as mine, which was me dad's, issued by the English Forestry Commission around 1947 - does it have an 'Arrow' stamped on it. the arrow is just a series of lines and was the government stamp for all tools back then..

Hi to the regulars. Since I found Buckin's channel, I'm hooked. I watch every new video, plus I've been catching up on older videos. This is what I do when I'm in bed, just before going to sleep. During the day, I'm working on my land, mostly hardwood, Maple, Ash, Black cherry, ect, and some soft, mostly massive Eastern Hemlock. I also have a decent axe collection, and a few dozen old power saws. So, this is what I'm getting at... I sent Buckin a few e-mails, as I wanted to offer him a top handle McCulloch power saw. Was seeing him use that awesome ported Echo, and figured he might want to go old school with the small top handles once in while... (this was before I saw his shed full of saws, and now figure he probably has 4 or 5 of that same Mini-Mac! What surprised me a bit, is that he never replied... Listen, my feelings aren't hurt at all (lol), but am curious, and maybe a bit paranoid... did I offend him in any way, is he just overflowed with emails and can't get to them, ..? Guys, I love the vibe here, and am so grateful I found this group, as I go to bed with a smile every day! take care, and thanks for having me! Eric
