i just finished prey very recently and its amazing how a game from 2006 had such amazing graphics and mechanics. its basically portal before portal (and with aliens)

Nice video man! I'm Divided (or Dr. Matt) the creator of the Safe Space (and TARDIS)! Just wanted to add a couple notes for some extra context - Source Engine map bounds cannot be extended unfortunately so the Safe Space / TARDIS etc must find an area within the map to spawn, it looks for open spaces in the sky for this - You are correct, there is currently no ability to copy the contents of a Safe Space but it is technically possible to do I just never got around to it, maybe one day... - The small jump when entering is due to there being no lip on the floor when entering from outside, exiting is usually fine though, you can jump into it to workaround this also - I've had many requests to integrate with Mee's seamless portals and while technically feasible it would require huge changes to the underlying tech so I haven't been able to do this yet

I hope somebody makes a mod that’s just like “Immersive Portals” mod on Minecraft honestly. It’s way too good. You can have a 2x2 dirt House while the inside is a 500,000 square foot mansion.

The creator of this mod, if they choose to update again, should take a cue from Mee. They have _very_ seamless portals, including working right against walls and having no 'getting stuck' problem. I'd love to see a more stable version of Safe Spaces, it was one of my favourite mods back in the day.

yeah i literally bought garrys mod entirely because of the tardis mods

2D Chase Nextbots can also dislodge the Safe Space. But I love this mod and use it at least once per game session. A lot of times I’ll spawn one, spawn a T-virus canister from GB5, chuck it at some Combine then run into the Safe Space

Now I wonder if they can enter the safe space from behind. Well technically it's an portal that is only enterable from one wall, so I think they can't, and when they do go through it, the next thing you see is Sanic randomly appearing at the door, sliding a little forward, then sliding towards you.

Pro tip: freeze the door so it doesnt fly from npc attacks

It was amazing how the original Prey on the Xbox 360 had the Portal thing going on. I remember playing the demo originally and then I got the game after back in the mid 2000s. I never did complete or played more of that game though. Hadn't played it for years.

i dont even remember how long ive been subbed to you but damn youre like one of the youtubers from what feels like the very beginning, the golden age. glad to see you still doing your thing. and gmod will always be one of the best games ever made

If you could have multiple of those and clone the interior, it would work well as the Resident Evil safe rooms. It probably breaks the pathfinding of the NPC's when you go inside so I doubt they would follow you.

I think you should try to put safe space into safe space. Will it work?

I saw how to make portals in games (game engines), this seems to be a pretty common one. Is just a teleporter with a trigger that only works from one side. That is why the hand moves like that after passing throught it.

I was playing on a server not long ago and someone made something very similar to this (no collision tho) with the PAC3 addon!

i remember this mod from like 2016, all the rooms were like outside of the world or something

I know this isn’t your style of videos but I would love you see you use this mod to make a horror video? Maybe the player is exploring the map like normal, goes through the door like usual but then ends up in a dead end. So they turn around only to realize the door way they came room is suddenly a portal to another dimension with unspeakable creatures
