    I've been watching videos of "RENOWN TRAILERS" for at least a year! I recently asked Bill of "I Ride THA" where he purchased his trailer. Awesome to find out that it's the same place as RENOWN!

    Just a few weeks before y´all told us about the new trailer, I had requested information from Renown about an 8.5 X 18. I am so so excited to watch your progress. We were going to to sell the house and travel after the kids left but Mark passed from cancer before that could happen. Anyway, I am finally at a place where I have decided to travel on my own and y´all have helped give me that confidence (my income is social security also).

    Wow! 70+ comments already! I have my cargo trailer on order through Renown as well. I couldn't connect with Tucker, but Austin King did a great job for me too. Mine is a 7'x14' SA. Perfect for a single guy like me. "Stan, the man"

    🗣Is it done yet? 🗣Is it done yet? 😬😅🤣🥴😉 Can't wait to see all the videos of your latest build. I have been considering doing the same, but dragging my feet due to material shortages & crazy price increases. I'm probably just as excited for your project as you are! You'll have to get some videos of Bill standing up in the trailer, so we can see how much head room he has. Bill looks like a tall guy. Best of luck, and enjoy your latest project. I'll be anxiously awaiting each & every video! 🔨🪛🔧🔨🗜🧰🛠

    I cant wait to watch how this is built . Cos even tho I'm a solo female and live by myself and have for over 10 yrs I drive a full size tahoe and intend to do this on a SSI . I'm tired of living in an apt and its boring . As soon as I finish re- doing my truck that is my next idea Cos I fell in love with the idea of cargo trailer campers . Whoever came up with that idea had to be a genius . All y'all have a blessed day.

    Mitsubishi builds the best mini split. Be aware that The heat pumps are all 220 volts. These are extremely reliable and use very little power. You can get a single outdoor unit that will feed two heads inside. I’m near Leesburg Fl. And would be glad to help with the ac installation if you want.

    I assume that you have a limited budget like most people doing a conversion but you should seriously consider installing a Timbren axle-less suspension system. You get more ground clearance without the axles getting in the way, can get a 4" lift or drop, and as a fully independent suspension it will pull much better under all conditions. It's something you can install yourself with no welding required.

  • @billanddeb

    @billanddeb

    3 жыл бұрын

    That would be awesome, but that would also mean I'd be pretty much throwing away the optional 5200 pound straight axles I paid extra for in the first place. I can definitely see doing something like that if I intended to take the trailer into rougher terrain, but we have no intention of doing that.

    Do yourself a favor and get rid of all of the blue wire quick crimp connectors. They are trash. My trailer looked identical type build out inside and I deleted all of them and soldered and then heat shrinked every connection. Its time consuming but the last thing I wanted was to be chasing a short in my lights inside the walls. Also I found out the trailing lights up top are mandatory and you can be ticketed for not having them working...aka that's what was shorted on mine.from the factory! Glad to hear ya didn't use snapper trailers...THEY SUCK

    Just a note, looking at how vinyl wrap is done, if you decide to go that way, it looks like you wouldn't have to worry about any additional waterproofing at seams where the wrap is because it goes over rivets and seams and is then heated up as the final step.

    Does it matter where you buy a trailer for conversion? I realize the answer is not yes or no, but I have not seen an answer to this question. From someone who has been through it.

    We've found that good and bad experiences are pretty much evenly matched for any given cargo trailer manufacturer/dealer. And then there are those who's expectations are a wee bit on the unreasonable side. We always admonish folks to remember this,,,,,,,,,cargo trailer manufacturers build cargo trailers to,,,,,,,,"haul cargo", not to make a tiny house out of. It's up to us to make the necessary preparations for our intended use.

    Was your wait for the trailer due to getting an aluminum roof and do you suggest getting an aluminum roof? Congrats by the way I will be following your build closely as I want to do some of the custom ideas you have for sure....

    We got the standard galvanized roof. The wait was due to the factory that manufacturers the exterior skin had a fire which slowed production dramatically. Red (believe it or not) is not the most popular color so they were concentrating on the most popular colors first.

    @@billanddeb no problem that you foresee with galvalume because when I talk to any manufacturer the wait is forever for aluminum roof?

    How did you choose to buy from Renown? Was the savings significant?

    A little better price but not overly significant. We really liked the salesperson at Renown, but he is no longer there.
