It wouldn’t be up the his team to press charges or not in a dictatorship - it doesn’t work like that. If the Saudis want to charge him they will, and he’d be certain to get convicted, no trial by jury etc.

I loathe this "John Fury sells fights" defense. If they're serious about that then I'll never buy a boxing PPV ever.

I was a big Fury fan before this incident. Now I am not and I want Usyk to win on Saturday as he will represent his nation, boxing and the youth coming through in a far better light than the Fury's. Arrest John and ban him from ever entering Saudia Arabia again. This is blatant ABH and there should be severe consequences for this. ABH carries up to 5 years imprisonment. Send him back to prison for the full 5 years imo. Lock him up.

The problem is it happened in Saudi and Saudi don't want to be looked at as being overly strict and unfortunately the punishment for assault in Saudi is strict including corporal punishment like flogging and sentencing the heavyweight champions dad for assault will bring the negative publicity to there human rights records that sport like boxing is supposed to be being used to green wash such issues.
