Lots of fun ideas to play with there Emily. I like this box, it will be a good challenge to try lots of different techniques. I like the thin paper cos you can do the rubbings - amazing it even picked up the texture on your cutting mat! and I will use the leftovers for gelli prints and collage papers :)

Lovely self portrait Emily. I used those crayons in the past similar to tailors chalk. Not worth the wait but nice t get some colour.

I really like the crayons though that pale one doesn't work on that colour paper. Took me easy longer to work out the paper was thin for rubbings. I'm jealous you worked it out so fast!

I agree it was a shame about the pale colour, haha if it wasn’t for my mat I may of never of found out it was meant for rubbing on different surfaces 😂

Hullo Emily, I enjoyed watching you work with the supplies in this Scrawlrbox! I remember when I was in college and I had a figure drawing class. They required you to use Newsprint paper pads as they are still the least expensive options and we had to do a drawing every 3 minutes! Sometimes even faster! So I used charcoal for most of the drawing I did for the class. Some people used pastels and I believe that I discovered the CaranD’ache Neocolor crayons from a person who used them in this class! I hope you consider creating a new artwork with these supplies on a bit better surface. I Believe newsprint is used for fast and loose and very quick studies so you can move on to better paper and sometimes even better supplies inks paints etc. for a finished artwork! Thanks for sharing Emily look forward to the next video.

Ahhh thanks for the info !! I learn quite a lot from your comments hehe 😄 I’ve yet to try the caranDache crayons I’ll see if I can find a decent set on Amazon!

@@EmilyArts I purchased the set of 10 for years and got special colors open stock as needed. I got the 30 stick set for last years birthday! I have only used 15 or so of them, just something to think about😀

I've filmed an unboxing for my box so far and currently its feeling like one of my old university lecture taster tasks from 6 years ago even down to the newspaper print paper! - jury is still out on whether that is a good analogy of the box. Great video Emily!

Haha the music of suspense when you opened the marker 😂 Surprisingly I liked the paper ! I battered that poor thing with the crayons, pencil and marker and not even a tiny hole . Your background with the flowers is my favourite but your face turned out fun too. That texture rubbing is awesome. I enjoyed your video Emily thank you 🥰

Hahaha I might have to give the newsprint paper another try ! 😄 aww thank you!! Might give the gradient another try , someone suggested to try using a hairdryer !

I'm not keen on the paper either, but they work really nicely on black paper.

The second you said newspaper paper my lip curled thinking how thin it would be! Lol then you flipped it and said how bad it felt 😂

I really like this box! I've got a lot of ideas in my head how to use the supplies, I used it once so far but I went for different paper, thanks God there are loads of them I've got to try from previous boxes 😅 I think a hairdryer might be some stuff worth to try with it to blend the colours 🤔

It’s definitely a unique box! And especially because it’s a supply + brand I’ve not used before 😄 ahhh I might have to try different paper and I’ll definitely use the hairdryer Got me all excited now! ❤

hmm interesting crayons,not too sure about the paper tho, they could have put better paper in the box
