Alternatively, snoopy miraculous is able to buy all the stuff (he stole Charlie’s money or is just that cool that no one notices. Quite possible that we don’t see him at the register, we just see him walking out with a towering cart). Charlie gets the wallet fly when all he was trying to buy was baseball stuff and something to impress the little redheaded girl

Of all the Charlie Brown specials, I think this one did the best job at making you feel bad for Charlie Brown, and most of his friends weren’t even trying to be mean to him. They really captured the spirit of working on Black Friday

It may not be as well known as the thanksgiving or christmas specials, but it was still a tradition for my parents to put this on for me every black friday with the vhs recording of it. I remember loving this special to the point I broke it from replaying it so much. Loved how Snoopy got fed up with the store staff being too busy to help him get whatever he couldn't reach, he just found a store uniform to wear to help himself, only to have everyone else bombard him asking for his help.

Man, I can just imagine Charlie Brown getting trampled in a nondescript store to this music

@@WeissHS never heard of that… Kevin Macleod might have other things similar in his jazz piano playlists. Kinda similar-ish, there’s also the piano version of inkwell isle three from cuphead

I love the ironic twist at the end. Snoopy and Lucy were the most enthusiastic about it, Charlie Brown was against the whole thing because he hates commercialism and sees Black Friday as the embodiment of it, but then Linus reminded him that Christmas is still Christmas and that it can be a fun activity to do with friends. Charlie Brown goes along with the idea reluctantly, eventually learning to love it, finding some great deals, but then Lucy loses out on a few deals and Snoopy has no money, so they end up empty-handed. Afterwards, they all have a big breakfast at a local diner, discussing the day's events. Charlie Brown decides he actually likes Black Friday, Snoopy and Lucy make "blech" faces and Lucy says "if I never see another Black Friday sale again, it'll be too soon". And then Charlie Brown gives Lucy the football he got her as an early Christmas present to cheer her up, but made her promise not to pull the ball away. Then it has that cliffhanger ending, Lucy holding the football, Charlie Brown running towards it, and that's the end of the special.

I feel like a better ending of the special would be Lucy pulling away the football, coming up with some excuse in her typical comical manner, and Linus walking to Charlie and sarcastically saying “Happy Black Friday, Charlie Brown.” Then Charlie looks to the audience, still lying down, with his “good grief” expression as the last notes play of the song.

Just gonna say this here: "Cyber Monday" has gotta be my personal highlight of this album. The Bit-crushed sound at the beginning, the chaotic electric organ notes in the middle- I can totally see Charlie Brown on an outdated Apple II PC trying get a good online deal and inevitably failing, all while this plays in the BG. I'm convinced Guaraldi would've totally done something like this!

I loved how accurate that Peanuts special was - when Charlie Brown's grandpa waffled on about how important the day was but it was all just trombone, it reminded me of so many old people. Glad It's Black Friday has been kept for all these years!
