Honestly you might be right, Aki might just surpass Botan. Ayame is still really strong though, so I doubt she’ll start dropping. Though I am starting to feel like Fubuki might become a strong pick eventually, just my experience though

Aki and Botan are pretty equal when it comes to their respective roles but Botan is a little slow compared to Aki. Aki is countered by characters with shorter ranges and faster hit speeds ie Korone, Fubuki and Ayame.

Honestly the moment I saw teleports I was just like n o p e Aki is gonna be broken and ppl will notice that overtime and here we are.

Aki's air teleport brings her to the ground so TK and ground teleports are effectively 50-50's. And it's at least partially invincible. Pretty sure there's other stuff I'm forgetting offhand but yeah most characters are cracked currently

I love how the Vtuber hated how she sounded, so said the voicelines clearly on stream so the devs could grab them and update the game.

Botan is launch Strive Sol but with half screen normals which all confirm into half hp bar combos with oki. This is AFTER the 8+ patches.

I just checked that Aki player's Steam profile. They have literal tons of hours in other FGs. No wonder they picked her up so early when they only have like 70h in ISD.

It was pretty obvious to me as an outsider to this community that that player was really good, possibly better than Sajam. Add to that not very balanced state of the Aki, and we got what we got. (but I really don't know FG skill levels, so I could be mistaken)

aki is indeed the character of all time. oh, but fun fact: mukirose i.e. muscle man is treated as an unreflectable projectile, which means moves with projectile immunity can go right through him.

I just realized that MukiRoze (the muscle dude Aki summons) does Galactica Phantom during Aki's super. Also as a fan of both fighting games and vtubers it feels super surreal watching FGC creators like you and Max Dood reacting to all the Hololive memes in this game.

Seeing her inflicts fear, but if the Aki player is bad, you can relax. If the Aki player is good, you either have to play out of your mind or get very lucky

Aki players want to keep her brokenness a secret. I have found tech I haven't seen with her from anyone else and I've seen tech that I would never have come up with from others.

Loving the video variety this time around: Actual footage showcasing Sajam going through frustration that low to mid level players feel on a daily basis when playing a new game.

People use more Botan for infinite combo or Ayame small hit box in her and big damage and easy to use. Suisei,Sora and Aki are good but more complex to use

Seeing an Aki main in Idol Showdown is like finding someone who uses a Lee-Enfield within the Taliban. They are the cracked ones.

The messed up thing is... I'm pretty sure Botan has the most tools to deal with Aki. And it's a heinous matchup. I'm also glad I'm not alone on this island of Aki being a little pushed in all phases of play. Whats a little too disgusting is that her teleport builds superchat matter so she almost always is able to call an assist at least once a round. It is gross

The Japan FGC is leaning towards Fubuki when it's come against Aki (and they're probably pick Fubuki for the 2nd strongest chara), Yes they're agree on Aki is broken level bcs of the zoning and teleport thingy, but Fubuki Tail Sweep deal with both of them (like a lot of time they shoot projectiles and try teleport, but the sweep is just go through the projectiles while also hitting Aki when she's arrive)

@@FuMiO02110 An attack being minus means the person who blocked the attack can act while person who did the attack is still stuck doing the attack. A shoryuken, for example, is extremely minus and you have a long time to punish it. Usually moves are just a little bit minus though, so the defender won't get a punish but they'll still have an advantage.

Seeing Sajam play Virtual Frontier was a treat I wasn't expecting to get today.

Tbh the reason why Botan would get patched before Aki or other characters is because she is the most cool looking so almost all FGC get attracted into using her, thus being the first one that people discover infinites or busted combos. The other character that was patched was Coco that also had an infinite I think? Also the different assist that most people dont use cause they think they are silly. That Aki main knew what they were doing, soon more people will probably find more busted strats with the other characters.

Coco had a Botan specific infinite that got patched out right from under Koefficient’s nose lol. He found it while one of the lead devs was watching his stream and they got right on it. I don’t think it even took them an hour to patch it.

Nah, Botan got patched because she had a literal infinite that no one except Aki could fight back against as she could do Muki stomp during the gap. Aki's strings have a ton of gaps in them. It's just a matter of knowing when to challenge and what opportunity to act on.

What am I supposed to do on ayame? I get zoned out by every character's normals, zoned out by fireballs, can't take space without doing something unsafe, block strings you can just mash through because all her attacks are unsafe...

Pick a better assist and use her projectile invuln super to yeet yourself to the opp. Also you have a super that guarantees your turn after a combo for follow up pressure/conversions

@@sinsinkun I'm pretty sure one of Ayame's low is reach further than any of the character for the exception of Coco tail sweep, her dash is probably the fastest in the game that you can actually surprise people with that shit ,I don't see her attack is unsafe at all (except one where you use the club) Not to mention I think a lot of pro agree that she has the best Anti Air attack that can be chained into a combo

Man, I hope. Vampire Survivor was such a solid concept and Holocure was like, yeah let’s bite that and give everyone synergy skills and supers with tons of QoL implementations such as the ability to strafe while aiming. Also, what brilliant idea of making a free gatcha system to incentives playing different characters and builds, while continuing to update different modes and enemy variety such as MMO lane attacks! So damn good FOR FREE!?

As somebody for whom IS is the first fighting game ever I'm trying out for real, the "No Flinch" fight modifier in the singleplayer mode 90% of the times is just an "Oh, I guess I lose then" moment imo.

If you find some counterplay to Aki, I'd be interested, lol. So far, I've only found that Aki's summons seem to have little to no hit stun so mashing a long reaching normal after her slide might counter poke her regardless of it.

Botan was a former eSports player irl, that's why she is pretty good at games. That's her "lore".
