Welcome to the save point, weary traveller. Stay a while, breathe, save your progress. You survived this far, you can go on a little while longer. Raise a cup for those that did not come this far, leave a torch for those still on their journey and haven't made it here yet. Take a glass of water, de-tension your shoulders, breathe. The hearth is warm yet. It won't go cold for a while. So sit a while, maybe welcome the next weary traveller in. It's a tough world outside but right now? It's peaceful here. Good luck on your journey, traveller. Wherever the paths may take you.

Jeremy Soule is a legend. The music he made for Oblivion and Skyrim is filled with an animalistic hunger for adventure and exploration, with the contentedness and freedom of birds in a nest with tired wings that took them everywhere. No two games have ever entertained me with exploration quite like those two. I'd be absolutely happy if I found a fantasy exploration game with Jeremy-level music...

Agreed, is music is fantastic! It amazes me how many things he’s worked on. It’s great to go into a game not knowing he composed the music but hearing it and realising who it is, which happened to me playing Neverwinter nights for the first time.
The Path. A short story, written for 'nobody'. You approach the campfire. An old man sits there, watching the fire crackle. His tattered grey robes and his bushy beard seem to blend together. His posture shows the true weight of gravity... as he leans forward on his wooden, twisted cane. His smile is warm. And welcoming. You take a seat on the sitting log across from him, and allow the warmth to wash your hands clean of the cold night. He speaks to you. "You and I walk the same road. I honor your journey, and offer you comfort. Partake in this fire, and my food. Freely". He gestures to the pot over the flame. "Though the road is long, and arduous. Please, rest here. Rest now. With me. Rest with love, and acceptance of yourself". Love...? You respond. "Old man... I have no love for myself. I have earned no love. I have yet to achieve something worthy of my name. ...I have done awful things to survive". "...Then rest your body. Just for a moment. Your aches and pains are respected here. This journey is not easy". The old man sighed warmly. "...If you cannot love yourself. May I share this with you?". He waits earnestly, though you say nothing. He continues. "There was once a time when I did not love myself. For years, I moved in shadow, and burden. Fighting for a future where all was well. Every day, a struggle. In moments of clarity, I knew it wasn't supposed to be this way. One day, broken... reeling... hopeless... I looked inside of myself. Deeper than the pain. Standing there, was the child I was so long ago. The light of the world reflected from his eyes. A being of pure innocence, who beamed bright with love. And it struck me, like a wave. I spent so much time protecting him... fighting for his world. I forgot to love him. I did what I thought I had to do to survive this life. My mistakes brought great pain. I sought fame, and fortune. Though my grasps fell short. But as I looked into the child's eyes. All I saw was life. I pictured embracing him, warmly. And I forgave him for the mistakes he made. 'Forgive them, for they know not what they do'. Some religious man I knew said that once. It felt true. Traveler... I worship no Gods, but I aim true. And my heart tells me to speak this: You must find the child inside, and learn to love him. For he is with you. Always. And no one is there to guide him accept you But all of us who know this are here with you".

This is a fragment of the painting "The Bogatyr at the Crossroads" by Russian artist Viktor Vasnetsov, 1882. There is an inscription on the stone that reads: "How straight to ride - there's no way to be alive - there's no way for a passerby or a passer-by or a flyer." The following inscriptions follow: "To go to the right is to be married; go left - to be rich" - are not visible on the stone, the artist has hidden under moss or partially erased. The picture is based on the bylina (tale) "Ilya Muromets and the Robbers".

My grandfather had a copy of a painting. It shows a knight looking at a stone on which it says, "If you take the straight path - you won't stay alive - there is no way for either the rider, the walker, or the flyer." In the original legend there is also "To go right - to be married; to go left - to be rich.", but they are intentionally hidden by the author of the painting. By the look of the knight and his horse it is quite understandable that he does not have much choice.
The picture is from Vasnetsov's "Vityaz at the crossroads"

My grandmother was bedridden for about a year and I was the one that mainly took care of her for that time. I did everything I could to keep her happy and healthy. Her favorite thing to do together was for me to tell her adventure stories. Tells of far off lands with courageous heros fighting off evil and yesterday I told her the last story. I've never seen this video before yesterday and I feel like it's her telling me not to worry anymore.

@andriisokolov1587

@@_-.-_-_.._--.-_-_----_-.--_._- Almost every piece of Russian art contains a poison. Vasnetsov has stolen the legacy of Kyiv dukes and that of Novgorod making people think these states were part of what is now Russia. Using that and his talent and imagination (and, well, some Muscovy-genuine themes too) he succeed in creation of a fantasy Russia that continues to fake people all over the world. Vereshchagin is often considered to be an anti-war artist, but it seems he was actually happy to be the Tsar's soldier. He was accused by the Tsar in anti-patriotism, because the Tsar felt he "has developed an empathy towards the Turkestan enemy". (Vereschagin has served in Russia's imperialistic military campaign against a state what is now roughly Turkmenistan and probably has seen a lot of Russian atrocities in that war). So he even destroyed some of his paintings on the to conform with the Tsar and all his disgusting slaves, earning a professor's seat in the Russian Academy of Arts! More than that, he voluntarily decided to serve the Tsar and his mad empire in the Russo-Turkish war. If that's not enough, after that he still dares to present himself as an anti-war artist.

There is something about this painting that made me feel in the way i can't explain. I imagine this solder is the only one that survive the battle. He was never sensitive, but now when he looks at the morning sky and recall all the dead bodies he just saw he starts questioning things. That wouldn't last long, he would probably continue being a solder, but for now everything is different

Well, the context of this painting is a bit different. This painting depicts a common motif in russian fairytales: a hero is standing on the crossroads and reads what is written on a stone: if he goes to the left, he'll get married, if he goes to the right, he'll get rich. But if he goes straight, he' ll lose his life. Of course the hero heads straight.
Skyrim is so nostalgic for so many of us at this point. Always puts a smile on my face to hear anything from that soundtrack. The other additions are excellent as well 👍
“If you go to the right - you’ll lose your horse; if you go to the left - you’ll lose your life; if you go forwards - you’ll lose both” We had this painting at our Russian church some 40 years ago and it fascinated me.
There have been so many times I would be playing skyrim till midnight. I come out of some dark cave after a long quest and it would be night in the game with Secunda playing, I would take in what ever scenery there is in front of me and just listen to the song. That's when you know it's time for bed.
This appeared at the perfect moment. I am ever more aware of how far I’ve journeyed. The mountain may sit high, but the view is beauteous. I only fear for what lay in the dark valleys below. But I know now that I have the strength to face it. The light of above and the shadows of below. I channel both within to change and grow.

Well, by accident before i discovered this video today I also finished (or not finished?) some draft of a dystopian novell. Never wrote novels before but today just some possible programmatic name for a novel poped in my mind and i decided to give it a try. I wrote this name into chat GPT and asked what plot it can imagine for it. It presented some idea which was ok but kinda stereotypical (rebels fighting the system like in the Matrix movie). I asked it some more questions and also developed my own ideas. I must say ChatGPT is quite interesting tool it often understands you surprisingly well and it can understand certain society problems and develop possible positive and negative scenarious. It is like having its own phantasy and intelligence.
Immediately smiled as I heard Jeremy’s Secunda as the first song. Great composer! 👍thank you for the playlist :)

I remember a couple years back playing "Harvest Dawn" out loud while visiting my family. My little sister asked, is that from Oblivion? Which is crazy considering I probably hadn't played it since before 2010. Definitely a fond memory. I think it just goes to show how iconic Jeremy Soule's tunes are. Oblivion really was my escape from a lot of turmoil in my household at the time and I think that's why I've never been as immersed in a game since. Thank you for putting together this playlist!

Btw if you work hard on something you want, your going to get the thing you want ambition and wanting something so bad, i will tell you know, your going to get the thing you want. Just keep dreaming and working hard, dont give up, almost there!
This is my favorite playlist on YT. It has all the sound my soul needed, that I didn't know existed.
In the midst of all the work- and family-life chaos, I often find comfort and peace in imagining myself as a simple traveler on my way to a distant destination. Carrying only the essentials for life on the road, I travel on foot between inns and taverns and stop by creeks and shrines along my way. A simple life, with plenty of time for reflection. It must be my inner nomad calling.
This last year has been the most stressful in my 30 years of life. The last 15 years cant even compare. But the second I hear Secunda...I actually relaxed. Thank you.
So many memories of all these adventures when I played Skyrim... Your video as a taste of nostalgia !
Thanks a lot for the incredibly jarring advertisement that was way louder than the rest of the video and shocked me awake just as I was falling asleep while using this video as a sleep aid. Really loved that, big fan.
this is the best video ever. as soon as I hear that first song from skyrim my body relaxes. thank you for making something so lovely and keeping it ad free 🖤 and may all who read this have restful sleep and pleasant dreams
This mix is amazing. I love the Skyrim bits thrown in. Great ambience!
I actually played this music when I was out in the wilderness camping. All my clothes were wet, but when I got inside my sleeping bag and put this music on, all was good. :)

Didn't expect an OST from my favorite game of all time to be the first one. Jeremy Soule's music is truly magical

Teşekkürler, harika bir liste.Yolculuk sırasında huzurla dinledim.
Need more playlists that feel like I just walked into an inn in the middle of nowhere after going through a harrowing journey while someone practices their lute by the fire and i notice for the first time the heaviness of everything I’ve been carrying with me

I literally said "Ahhh, Secunda!" out loud. Makes me tear up, thank you once again!
thank you, I'm not tired anymore, I have fought many battles that nobody knows of and I am extremely happy to still have my heart and my light burning and beating stronger than ever. I promise to be the best influence to those around me now and for eternity, in this timeline or the next. I love you all and Humanity prevails in the end in case if you were wondering.
I smiled just with hearing the first second, i´ve found pure gold. Blessings to all.
Something about this kind of music makes my heart sink with joy. Its a gentle reminder of the days where everything seemed easier a gentle nod into worlds filled with amazement and wonder. Knowing our reality is far from those dreams we have but when its late at night you had a tuff day. You can find a way to momentarily forget about it all and dive into something amazing. Its not just a game its something far greater 😌
Clicked this randomly and was met with instant nostalgia ❤
ah, you're finally awake
