If you go through the menus on your scanner, you should see something called an evap test. Its a self diagnostic process that tests the whole evap system. It takes a little while to do, but it checks everything. Also, you can't clear evap codes. They're still there. The pcm transfers them from pending to permanent. Your scan tool probably can't read permanent codes, so if you have one that does, you'll see that they are still there.

It would seem, evident by the super high failure rate, that Ford must have farmed out production of their purge valves to Dorman. 🤣

When people fill the tank with fuel, they will top off the tank until it is full right to the top of the cap and this will drowned the purge and canister. The purge valve can actually break when you completely full of fuel because the fuel is non compressible always stop the moment the fuel nozzle kicks off the fuel when filling your vehicle.

Great video. When I'm Driving to set monitors I have a 10-year-old $150 Harbor freight one that is spot on. super simple And I have 4 or 5 different Very expensive Professional scan tools. When it comes to watching The monitor's Centech Harborfreigh is the simplest easiest best one. It instantly gets into the system without too much trouble because it's very simple. But that is the only thing it does well besides read codes.

Thats a completely different vehicle. The Connect is an Escape. The one in the video is a much bigger vehicle, and as far as i know, its not based on another vehicle.

I thought he overfilled the gas tank or left the gas cap loose. Good video, and just because the check engine light comes on, does not mean you did something wrong, especially when there is that many miles on it. A piece of electrical tape over the check engine light will do the trick.

Let's exclude Nissans here for obvious reasons, Nissan don't want us working on their cars, so I don't buy any. But what do you think the fastest scanner is to scan all modules on the car? The Zeus+ well all the newer Snap-on scanners including the Triton are fast. The Launch I think they all about the same. Autel claims at least one of their latest scanners has a speed improvement, but Autel I used was slooow!

Launch padVII and the high end Topdon are the fastest, most comprehensive scan tools on the market, but you have to spend a couple grand on one
