It’s Almost Too Easy!

In this week's Adobe Fresco Tip Friday, I'm going to show you how to use "vector trimming". This feature makes it so easy to draw tight, clean linework. It's great for inking, lettering, logo design, and anything else that requires a tight drawing. Even when I don't need something to be vector I'll use vector brushes just for this amazing feature.

I did this almost all the time with Clip Studio, glad I don't have to worry about losing such time efficient feature in Fresco

True but Clip Studio doesn't have a real vector option, they use an outdated "fake" vector technique that's not nearly as clean.
Clipstudio Paint allows you to do this for years now. That's how I do the inking of buildings for the backgrounds. You can erase up to the next intersection, erase partially a line or erase the entire line. Very flexible.

Cool! This isn’t new in Fresco either, I just like to share tips that some people might not know about. It’s super helpful and that’s great you can do it in Clipstudio as well!

Great tip! I’m starting to use Fresco because of you! How can I make the border for a sticker of a vector drawing?

Thanks! I can’t think of an automated way off the top of my head… I’d likely just draw it on a separate layer with the smoothing turned up on my brush to get the cleanest lines.

Your vids/tips have been so helpful in learning Fresco, so thank you! Is there a way to sync Photoshop color swatches with Fresco? I can’t find any videos or info about it.

Thanks! That’s great to hear! Although I don’t know off the top of my head how to sync color swatches I imagine it would be possible though your creative cloud library. I’ll try to remember to look into it!

Hi, how to add a picture behind the layer ?

Just tap the photo icon on your toolbar and select the image you want to add. That will place it on it’s own layer. At that point you can drag the layer up to down to position it below where you want to draw. To turn down the opacity just tap the layer options on the right and you’ll see the opacity setting.
How did you do it with the blue lines when the intersection is on a different layer?

After the vector trimming? Double tap the modifer to turn it off.
