We were all curious to find out what your experience was going to be and we're super thrilled with your opinion! It's awesome that you were able to highlight the niche benefits in movement with the customized actuation points and rapid trigger. It takes a skilled player to bring this forward and is difficult for us to communicate. 🤩 Tachyon mode is freaking out on you due to the coiled cable you use. The coiled cable length vs thickness is not proficient for our requirements when running RGB at full brightness and turning on Tachyon mode. Tachyon mode and especially RGB LED draw a lot more power. When using a thinner/longer cable, it'll not be able to steadily keep up the required voltage causing it to faux activate the hall sensors (keys). When you lower the brightness to approximately 50-70% (depending on your cable quality), it'll stabilize. The stock cable that comes with the 60HE can easily handle any scenario in tachyon mode with brightness at 100%. Coiled and low quality cables (often) just can't handle it at full brightness. We are looking into how we can better this scenario, so that the end-user will not face a ?? and we (automatically) compensate for the cable quality. In long term, we are still learning what we might be able to do hardware-wise to compensate.

This is why i love optimum tech reviews, i have watched about 10 reviews of this keyboard and no one has demonstrated the practical use of these features with actual scenarios playing valorant, apex or other games and the benefits of the different actuation points with movement mechanics. Everyone seems to just read the tech specs from a script nowadays. Unfortunately Ali is not always the first but waiting for his reviews is always worth it.

The Tachyon mode not working properly might be because of your custom cable. Tachyon mode requires more power to be delivered to the board which your cable might not be up to. Try it with the stock cable to see if this is the problem.

It seems to increase the USB polling rate to 1000Hz (1ms) and probably the analog switches' sampling rate as well. Makes sens that the logic board might draw significantly more power but also the cable needs to be correctly shielded from EMI with that increased data rate.

Your Tachyon mode didn't work because you're using a coiled cable Coiled cables cannot supply the 4.2v required for this keyboard Use the stock cable or anything within USB specs and you'll be fine

Would you mind explaining why? I can't see how a coiled cable prevents a voltage. Also why 4.2V, since USB delivers 5V.

Coiled has nothing to do with voltage. It affects the shielding by becoming an antenna and inducting more EMI into the wires which could interfere with the electronics that try to decode a data stream that is twice as dense (1ms 1000Hz vs 2ms 500Hz)

Already have this one on preorder. The software integration really caught my eye. And that they offer it in ISO layout.

Glad you covered this board. I'm so incredibly happy with my 60HE, I couldn't really imagine a better gaming keyboard. Regarding custom cables, others have mentioned that many coiled cables make the board freak out with tachyon mode on, and that might just be down to the coil in the board. I have a custom braided IEM style melgeek cable without a coil, and I have no issues at all using tachyon mode with full brightness.

have you seen steel series omni switches? i believe both utilize the hall affect. and steel series allows the exact same customizability, however im not sure that they have the rapid trigger setting in their software?

This keyboard is a proper gaming tool, specially in the right hands. After seeing it on BadSeed channel was hoping to hear about your experience and here we are, awesome stuff

another cool thing about changing the actuation is that you can change that along with your in game aim down sight sensitivity, this allow you to use the same muscle memory for aim smoothing mechanics for apex legends while straffeing faster

Such an amazing keyboard and honestly when I first switch to PC in like 2017 I didn’t understand how the keyboard industry didn’t have this feature and I just learned to accept it. This is something I can be being a game changer for the industry in FPS’s

I hope so, but I have a feeling these keyboards will be banned in eSports... if I'm wrong please give me an example of someone using this keyboard in the pros. I hope the industry doesn't try to demonized customizable keyboards like they have macro'd ones. I genuinely think this is more of a "control freaks" wet dream than someone looking for an actual unfair competitive advantage. We'll see I guess!

Got my hands on the Wooting 60HE+ thanks to your channel and I can confidently say that this is the best feeling keyboard yet (Have owned like half a dozen atp). The Rapid Trigger feature is the butter of this keyboard and no wonder other manufactures are racing to copy it with their own versions. The Wootility software is really good as well and surprisingly so since many other softwares from name-brands are missing tons of features or have issues. I definitely think Wooting will be King of this space for a long time.

I tend to play games that involve shooting and driving with a Steam Controller, as it's reasonably good at both. I normally hate driving / flying with a keyboard. This is probably better but I'd need to try it myself to be sure.

I want compact 75% version of this keyboard for dev programming work and gaming modes if they will be releasing one

Looks like they already have a pretty tight setup TKL with analog switches. Looks like you can't set the actuation points as tight as on this new version tho. Likely a far more advanced switch in this board.

2kliksphilip made a video about these 4 years ago where he tested them in CSGO, theyre so nuts from the feature set side of things, programming them to let you walk at non hearable footstep speed in fps when you only half press them and then when you want your entire speed just press them a bit harder, its so genius

Wooting should make an arcade stick with short actuation switches like these. Even the keyboard itself is good enough for keyboard users in fighting games.

ngl you're amazing you are to so much help since I'm about to buy a new mouse and you talking about them. Yes this is a weird video to name you're mouse videos on a none mouse vid but thank you for existing I hope you find more success in the future.

Man a TKL version of this beuty and I would go nuts

I got mine yesterday and it's really night and day compared to my old corsair K65 rapidfire in terms of feel and sound (when i installed my keycaps i started with the space bar and it shocked me, i wasn't ready for that xD). The infinite rapidfire feature is really nice on A and D with everything at 0.1 mm you can feel a difference. I don't know if I should activate it on other keys but after testing on W at 0.1 and even at 0.4 it often happens that my character stop moving in apex and crouch instead of slide jump, fortunately I tested it in the firing range before ^^' (also set it to E if u want to become a loot goblin :D (calm down, I'm joking) Edit : set rapid trigger to 1.0 mm and it's perfect. The function to simulate a controller is really good in star citizen but not as convenient as a real joystick (unfortunately you can't have everything :D) probably needs some practice. I haven't tested it in a racing game yet because it's not my kind of game but I'll probably test it on the crew 2. In summary : The Wooting 60 HE THE pre-built gaming keyboard with some crazy features and a premium feeling in a 60% form factor that you can mod as you want (yes u can swap the case for a Tofu 60 in aluminium or another great case, it's a bit expensive but i probably will do it :D), Wooting might be the only company allowing and encouraging us to do this, thanks and take my money calder.

I remember them saying that the case costs basically nothing to produce. So while it could save you a few bucks, for Wooting it could become more expensive (different packaging, different assembly at the factory, less demand so they could end up with unsold stock etc.)

I noticed the space bar area had an option for multiple buttons. That would be awesome to have more buttons available for my thumb. I have a periloot caravel and have gotten used to my thumb having 3 keys to press...so if the wooting keyboard had that option, it'd be a game changer for me. It will also need to be supported by COD so that analog could be used to walk/sprint/tac sprint. if that support is added, it might be a reason to change.

I would argue that the best option is to have tac sprint always on since it's what I ran on MW2019 and barely played any CW or VANGUARD, but with the new cod nerfing movement so bad I have the standard press shift to sprint and double tap to tac. I'm still trying to find the optimal sprint settings since every one is being forced to play slower/more tactical

I just pre-ordered this board the other day, glad to see I made a good decision!

I'm interesting in the development of the software with this keyboard. Allowing the sharing of custom profiles would be super convenient!

I'm tempted to try this is in my Bakeneko60 and see if I can mount it "gasket" style with the giant O-ring around it between the PCB and plate.

Unless the PCB has cutoffs for the Bakeneko's standoffs it's not going to be great. Also Bakeneko uses a USB C daughterboard that is in the center of the case, the Wooting is on the left so you'd have to drill a hole in the case.

Since the key resets almost instantly, do they still spring up quickly and make the traditional clack sound? Personally, I'd love a keyboard that isn't so aggressive when it springs up, thereby reducing typing noise.

PLEASE sell the PCB and switches as a pack seperately from the prebuilt. The fact that this is standard compatible is insane.

This is a great keyboard! Hopefully their next edition will include this version with Bluetooth 5.1 so we can always choose whether we want wireless or wired. Also I would like to see a version without that handle on the left side

@@lowkey8300 for professional gaming no wireless is not good enough but for casual gaming and working wireless in my opinion is often nearly as fast as wired (from the human eyes perspective)

unreal, how good this product is. well engineered.

Using the standard screw layout was such a smart move.

Wow, this video hits different when I am watching it to help me set up my own Wooting 60HE..

Might pick one up because of this review. 👍 The fact we can move the board to something like a tofu60 case makes it good.

I'm not sold on the idea of analog switches, but the rapid feature sounds awesome.

@@Guanjyn don't have to use it like that, in not atleast. This keyboard has much more to offer than any other keyboards out there. Things that you did not think you ever needed in a keyboard. So much you can customize on it to really fit your playstyle and feel more yours than any other keyboards out there will do

If only it was a 75% board.

Or 65% or TKL, would much prefer any of those options to 60% just for everyday usability. I could probably get used to the specialized extra layer arrow keys on this though.

Sticked with the Wooting One since 2018; 4 years later in September I'm upgrading to the Wooting 60 HE ARM edition.

One of the most well thought out and engineered peripherals I've seen in a long time!

Great review, really detailled and from the perspective of a keyboard enthusiast. Now I'm waiting for Hall-Effect switches, compatible custom keyboards (at least PCBs) and VIA support...

@@mysteriousowl133 of course it won't. ali is a top 5% or higher player just based off his gameplay, and at that level you want every advantage you can get. no one expects buying a G Pro Superlight or something will make them a god either, but there's no questioning it's better than some 5-10 year old 150 gram "gamer" mouse with a crappy sensor or something.

I hope logitech and razer picks up on this tech. Having variable input instead of binary really does change the game. And when the keyboards saturate the market devs may make some wacky gameplay with the variable input keyboard.

I was like "seems cool, bet they surely gave it some idiotic price as you would expect with anything (like that mega light mini mouse u got)" but no, 170 is pretty reasonable which was really surprising

This keyboard has recently gained popularity in the Osu! Community and has raised concerns of whether or not it's considered cheating. Interesting thoughts for sure so it's cool I've found this video as well!

I got the optical keyboard from razed when it first came out and I'm not gonna lie it's kind of a pain in the ass. It's amazing for lightning fast reaction but sometimes even breathing on it will activate, so this is cool seeing there are adjustable activation.

the huntsman v2 analog and steelseries apex pros can also adjust their actuation point like that board up there... he either didn't know about these or the build quality of these 2 are not up to par with the one above

I got the 60HE aswell, lubed the switches and put cherry profile keycaps on it - types like a dream!

The biggest reason why hall effect switches are so smooth and sound so good is the lack of a contact leaf in the switch. This is super compelling for a custom keyboard nerd.

I have the big brother of this one (the Wooting Two Lekker Edition which has now been rolled into the Wooting Two HE). And while I have nowhere near your level of proficiency and thus can't really speak much to the improvement of my gaming performance I can say that when it comes to fit and finish it is on a whole 'nother level compared to what I have been fiddling around with before.

Apex pro does similar it's amazing. Even down setting the resistance of the keys. You can even set multiple actions per key via amount pressed or depressed

I just miss the arrow keys...

Ah damn it's going to take years before someone makes a split keyboard with these switches isn't it?

unfortunately yes :( I've been waiting since the wooting one. I currently own a wooting 60HE that replaced my old iris split ergo build since I gave up on waiting. The gaming/typing feel advantages outweigh the ergonomic advantages of the Iris. In the far future when I have more time, I might look into making my own analog PCB, Riskable 3D printing has a good video on that.

I loved the video and game me some arguments to back this board after some one comented about it on Discord. The only thing that bothered me was completly ignoring the fact that VIA exists for compatible custom boards and the features that this board has remind me a lot of QMK. Maybe they are using a DZ60 inspired PCB? I'd imagine as it fits the KBD fans Tofu case pretty well... Anyway. Great vid, looks like an amazing product
