I enjoyed this video so much! So elegant and classy - and just plain relaxing! With modern society in the sad state it stands today, we so need to return to a time of civility and polished manners! We should embrace the finery. Thank you for sharing your lovely collection with us all. 🥰

This was an extra nice episode. I love compotes, so versative. I use mine for small cakes, cookies, candies, etc. But my favorite use is to elevate a floral arrangement; they're so much prettier when elevated.

I have a beautiful majolica compote made in West Germany with a number22 on the back stamp. I’m going to try to send a picture from your web address. I think you will love it as it is soft blue with birds. I paid $25 several years ago at my favorite antique store in Newnan, Georgia. Thank you for this post , it’s highly informative.

Yes, seeing LMB's informative videos gives me hope that the look of these pieces will return to favor among the younger generation. One nit-pick--Why say you have been "gifted" with an item when there already is a perfectly good verb ("given") to use instead of twisting a noun into a verb?

I really enjoy having several of different sizes and shapes stand together or alone empty as I do enjoy admiring the patterns. Although I also love using them on the table with fruit or flowers or little desserts. They’re pretty on Buffet tables and Tea luncheons or Formal Teas. Now I will happily await viewing your presentation of Antique and Vintage Cake Platters that you mentioned sometime ago! Thanks for keeping it interesting !

For example, I really like the vintage glass banana boat vaces but, I have no idea how I'd use it. I can imagine flatware rolled in a napkin and placed in it but thats about it. I like pretty AND useful items. Thank you for helping me elevate my everyday life. Sincerely, Andrea.
