In this movie by producers Living Projects, architects David Mikhail and Annalie Riches explain how their Church Walk housing project created four compact but light and airy homes on the small awkward site of a former junkyard in north London.
Mikhail and Riches live in the Church Walk scheme they designed and developed themselves.
The terraced brick building contains three houses spilt over different levels and one apartment, each with access to outdoor space.

Finally, someone thinking outside the box because none if us like living in boxes. The space and light in this development is awesome. Could happily live there and each apartment feels like a house. The fact that the architects chose to live there themselves says it all. Great use of an awkward site. Well done.
Simply the best....creating a sense of pleasure through daylight even on a dull BRITISH day is called miracle work. Believe me dull British weather is....difficult to remedy.
Wonderfully articulated to get most of the natural light and privacy !👌👍
Great job! Successful on many levels of design🌷
Earthy... liveable.. beautiful
Absolutely amazing design, love the outside space, want one👍👍💐❤
Intelligence and environmental sensitivity come together to make sensible (livable) and beautiful housing.
An engaging complexity derived from necessity, not contrived.

The Deputy Mayor's comments cheer me up no end.
new school conventional classic.
What is the tittle background sound?
Please tell me she didn't just leave her bike outside like that
Great design but the colour of the outside of the building could be better...it looks like a very boring, very ugly beige, a blue or charcoal would have looked better.
