Why would anyone hate this song ? I remember one toy that i had as a baby, it played this song on a small piano. I still have it. Im 31 now and I just found out what the name of the song is. It brings tears. But I dont know whats behind that hate. I dont see any hate towards this song

Same here. I’m watching something on the Disney Imagineers working World’s Fair attractions and this one came up prompting me to listen to the song. It brings back childhood memories. I do t like Disneyland but I went on September because my kids wanted to take me. The best ride ever.

It will always be a "Small World" if we just recognize our similarities and respect one another. Thanks to Richard and his brother for writing such a memorable theme. I will always remember it when I take that boat ride as it enters into "It's A Small World" at Disneyland. Condolences to the Sherman's family and Disney fans worldwide.

My dad and stepmother took me to Disney World the summer I was 10, and we went on this ride. We got stuck in one spot for several minutes, just listening to the song over and over. When we got off the ride, some people were either singing or humming that song, and my stepmother vowed to strangle the next person she heard singing or humming that song, and to this day, she still hates it.

Everytime we play or sing this song my baby laughs and smiles. He loves this song it always seems to calm him down. 3months old and teething 😵 so thankful for this damn song 😆

i was crying at 5 years old in KG when they played this. they kept asking what’s wrong but i couldn’t express or tell them that the music was making me sad. 20 years later, i found this through google audio searching the melody, i still remember the melody bc i can’t forget how i felt listening to it. .....and yeah, i’m still crying.

Whenever I went to disney I wouldn’t mind going on this ride because it was air conditioned which was nice on a hot day. 😂

I grew up with this song. As a small boy it was one of my favourite stories and the song was a big favorite, used to drive my mother crazy playing it constantly, haha. Now in my 40's and I still play it occasionally :)

It's odd how an African bird knows about a song made by humans. And yes, I was also confused by Hula dance.

It's such a great song but dunno why I keep singing it in repetition infront of my friends till they get irritated.

My elementary school used their song with the same rhythm and beat as this song so this song gives me a lot of nostalgia

Some say this is Mazikeen's favorite song

I've searching this song for years since I was a kid, nostalgia

This is so nostalgic, listening to this after all these years for the first time in a long time.. brought me tears man.

After waiting in the long lines at any Disney park, this song becomes the theme song of madness...

This song is just so innocent and it's holds a messages we all like, and is just something I like to go to, to smile 😊

This was one of my favorite child songs. I remember being 4 or 5 yrs old at disney on a family vacation hearing this.

Did you know there’s actually a third verse? It was written for the ride’s 45th anniversary, and it goes like this: “It’s a world of wonder / A world of worth / And in years to come / We’ll know peace on earth / We will open our eyes / And we’ll all realize / It’s a small world after all.”

God bless the Sherman’s and Walt Disney for bringing the joy to so many millions of children.

I worked many years for a carnival and have been on every kind of ride from the wall of death to Tubs of Fun with some tubs that I actually had fun with but the highlight of carnival rides for me was this ride at Disney simply because it is a small world after all and the slow movement through the memories of time brought me to wholeness. It is a good ride for older people who actually lived the life they were given. The ride of the future will be the funnel of love brought to you by the black sun rising. See Wanda Jackson “funnel of love” for a taste.

They used to make me sing this in elementary, i was smart enough to know this isn’t helping with my education

This is an amazing song I remember going to Disney land when I was young and going in the ride Later on: me singing it for 3 more hours AMAZING !!!

A Disney classic. Gotta hear it every year at the theme park

this song makes me want to go skipping through a medow with a basket of flowers :)

this song and ride is supposed to represent world peace and unity. thats why the voices are young children and the "creepy dolls" are present. they are symbolism of future generations and for everyone to get along

The fact that in lion king he said “NO! Sing anything but that!” Like I think at the time this was played a lot and even the Disney animators had enough of it 😂😂 I don’t know, but I find it so funny when I watch that scene because they take the mick out of something so irritating that Disney created 😂😂

This song and the ride might be my favorite in Magic Kingdom. You get on it, hear the music, and think "Wow. I'm at Disney. I'm not in the real world. *This* is Disney." It's truly magical. The song and ride get too much hate simply because it can get annoying the sixth time you hear it in a day, but it gives a powerful message, and connects us all around the world (since it's easy to translate.)

I love this song because it takes me to the time when I was still a little, innocent child who was free of problems and is blissfully ignorant
