The small drums called Tifa, traditional musical instrument from Papua island. And majority race of Papuans are Melanesians, same group of people with Moluccans (Molukken in Dutch or Maluku in Indonesia), Flores, and Timor. So yes physically speaking many people outside Indonesia, especially in Europe, are often mistakenly identify them as Africans eventough they were basically Indonesians.

The lyrics of the whole song is in Papua language. The rap part using 3 languages: Indonesian, Papuan & English. Indonesia is the largest trilingual country in the world. They speak in: 1. Local language/mother tongue (based on their tribes). Indonesia has over 300 ethnic groups/tribes & 718 local languages. 2. Indonesian language/Bahasa Indonesia (national language). The only language for all Indonesian people to communicate/understand each other. 3. English. If you visit Indonesia, feel free to use English.

In Indonesia I don't think we have issues with (or even the concept of) cultural appropriation for outsiders who want to dress the way we do. As a Dutch you should research more about Indonesia.. In 1960s Dutch still considered Papua province as its colony. And then Indonesia fought for it with tears and blood. We lost many lives of our soldiers fought for Papua back to our country

Indonesia has many culture diversity. It is not african culture. People from eastern Indonesia have different culture than the west. I am from eastern Indonesia. My culture is totally different than Bali, Java, sumatra, Borneo or another Island. I also live in NL..in Nederland people always make mistake about my face, my accent and my culture. Sorry to interrupt bruh. Papua was never colonized by the dutch for about 350 years. Yes, the dutch came to Papua and named that land, Holandia. But it happened almost at the end of their colonialization time in this archipelago. Before the rising of nationalism among inlanders in the Dutch-East-Indies, Papua was just an untouchable land. So, mentioning that Papua was seized by the Dutch people for about 350 years is a very stupid thing to say.

@@aldiron8587 You're right. My Indonesian history is a bit blurry now. Papua was colonized and transferred to Indonesia. Indonesia itself was colonized for over 300 years. The Dutch influenced is very strong in the eastern most part of Indonesia.
