Stupid comment by Parlour. This season the competition has involved Ajax, Lille, Fenerbache, Real Betis, Eintracht Frankfurt, AZ Alkmaar, Olympiaikos, Fiorentina etc. Most of these teams are often in the Champions League or in the Europa League. Whoever is Man United manager next season is facing a rebuild but a club that size will also want a trophy. The Europa Conference League is no worse than the Cup Winners Cup used to be. And it's a bigger achievement than winning the Carabou Cup!!. Success breeds success. I'm a lifelong Villa fan who is old enough to remember is beating Bayern Munich in the European Cup and Barcelona in the Super Cup. Although i really hope we can get 4th place and win the Europa Conference League Trophy, i would rather finish 5th with silverware than 4th without silverware. Whoever gets that spot in the Conference League will be one of the favourites to win it, and winning silverware is what every fan of every club wants to see their club achieve. 'IF' we finish 4th and win the Europa Conference League Unai Emery should win Manager of the Season. In 18 months he's taken a team from the bottom 4 to the top 4 and he's done it without wildly splashing the cash.

No it drops to league position. You only get it if you win it. They can get europa league only by getting 6th or winning the cup. And they arent going to do either.

@@crystalclearhygiene3767 They changed the rules 2015-2016 the runners up do not get Europa league. It goes to the highest placed team who hasn’t got champions league if the winner has got champions league.

Our mistake was not to listen to Rufnick when he told us that united needed a total rebuild.. A clear out and because we trusted THG we thought he was going to turn those useless player into good players and in his first season he tried and got us a cup and position 3 in the league and a spot in the final and he tried to sheep out some player he didn't want in his second season but the club couldn't sell those players and the culture of player power kicked in again as usually and the same players who put Ole under the bus are now showing their true colours and guess what most of people are calling for the manager to be sucked ... I guess people don't learn

I don't think there's one outstanding candidate out there that fits the following attributes (except Klopp) - serial winner, PL/Big club proven, has a track record of building successive teams and plays an attractive style of football. Not with our injuries this season I think 6th would be a good achivement.

Do they even care? Most big teams really only care about getting CL football, and everything else is just in the way of other fixtures. Europa or Conference league, no difference to the setback.
