Nope dear I did not u can cut it off oru insert inside. The essence of the elastic band is to expand the cap and balance it well at the back

My dear. That is called expansion. After I do that, the cap will expand to size any Head. It will balance very well on the Head. It will not flip up at the back.

You don't need it but be careful not to allow it shrink so much after sewing. It can last for a very long it. U can comb out if you are tired of curls
