It Is Illegal To Do This In Orange Beach Alabama
Well due to unforeseen circumstances, the city of Orange Beach is now enforcing the ability to dig holes to look for seashells. This may be happening due to the fact of others seeing my videos, digging holes and then just never filling them back in. It's really unfortunate but hey... some folks have zero respect when they vacation. This will be my last digging for shells video for awhile as I'm still having a hard time locating spots in Gulf Shores to dig for seashells.

Its not worth the $500 fine.... plus I could lose my business license for my photography business since I do 100% of it on the beach.

Bruhther, I was completely unaware of this! My last trip to Orange Beach, June 2022, I dug a giant hole next to our chairs😳 I filled it in tho after I got a picture and sent it to my friends lol

Its all good... it really all depends who is patrolling the beaches that day... there are 2 that like their jobs too much and then the rest are pretty chill.
The inconsiderate ruin it for the rest of us. I’ve had to fill in holes when walking in the evening that people left. There are “signs” posted at the condo buildings that plainly state to not leave holes when you leave. I don’t understand why people don’t stop to think about the hazard that they are leaving for other people. Be careful everyone. Have a great day.

If my channel was making money.. I'd probably make a video following a family to their home and digging a big ole hole in their front yard and leaving it... haha
That makes me so sad ... we had SO much fun on our dig!! Can you perhaps go to the city council and ask for an exemption for your specific shell digging tour since you make sure all of your holes are filled... I’d definitely fight city hall on this as it does feed your tax base as well... don’t give up... fight!!

I'm not much of a politician. It's fine. I'll just look for new places, but won't do any trips until then.

Why not go to the other side of the Flora-Bama and dig on the Florida side

Unfortunately its not that simple... if it was.. I wouldn't need to make this video.
I’m so sorry to hear that. It sucks other people ruin it for people like you who fill their holes. Same thing happens to us people who metal detect. That was a beautiful shell to end the year on! Have a Happy and Healthy New Year!

I hope so! Sally resurfaced Gulf Shores beach, so I still haven't found much of anything over there.
I dug today at cotton bayou but of course I filled the hole before leaving. I wasn’t very successful in finding much, unfortunately. I’m sorry to hear that you won’t be able to offer this type shelling anymore in OB. What about Gulf Shores?

So ridiculous!!! Maybe they should be spending their time working on the holes that are in the roads and leave the beaches for people to have fun. So are they gonna come along and fine some kids for digging to China? This is so maddening. 🤬🤗🐚🐚🐚🐚

Had the same thought when arguing with my mother when I was a teenager... she responded with "that's life"

Gulf Shores rule is no digging more than 12 inches deep and not metal shovels.
