Its not missery it long suffering. Its better to loose everything and be happy with onesself than to have it all and be misserable for ever. For what does it profit a rich man to loose his own soul than gain eternal life in the spirit of jesus and god. For its harder for the rich man to enter the kingdom of god than it is is for a camel to go through the eye of a needle. To live gods life you have to loose your worldly life. You cant have both. For god/jesus sayed follow me those who thirsty and want to drink from the fountain of everlasting life. Equivalent exchange you must first loose something to gain another.
