All the coaches in the WNBA are trash. It doesn't matter who they replace her with. The NBA needs to commit harder to the WNBA if they want it to get off the ground because no good coach is going to waste their time when they can go coach in college and make more money. Not even just men's college but coaches in the women's section also make more money. The top WNBA coach barely makes over a million per year. It is almost like they're sabotaging the WNBA.

CC is being guarded hard and she has trouble getting open and getting her shot. She lacks a mid range game so right there that eliminates at least 2-3 opportunities a game. The Fever offense is too robotic. It doesn't flow. They do not move the ball well.

I've been saying for weeks that Indiana Fever caoch *Christie *Sides, including the Indiana Fever team's general manager *Lynn *Dunn should've been already fired! They've both proven them selves to be *Caitlin *Clark's hidden enemies within! The same goes for some of*Caitlin *Clark's own teammates,which is why I've also been saying that *Caitlin *Clark's team, is over due for some major changes for the better, on the Indiana Fever team's roster¡

Christy Sides told press tues/wed that the team had spent most of that practice working on defense. Then cut the best defender, Celeste Taylor.

That was deliberate. This is a poorly coached team that doesn’t know to win and it shows. Morale must be terrible. I hope CC goes to the new Golden State team. At least they know how to coach and run plays around a running offense and I’m sure Warrior management will know what to do with her and improve her game.

Watching the Fever really makes one appreciate the job Lisa Bluder and her staff did optimizing CC. She definitely moved across the DMZ to North Korea when she went to the W. If I have to watch another big plow into a double team throw the ball 3 feet over the rim I’m going to lose my mind.

Thanks for this critique. I'm new to all this (Caitlin Clark effect) but the descriptions of poor defense helps. It looks like Clark and the rest of the Fever would benefit from this type of analysis. Isn't that the job of the coach, though? I think Clark would be receptive to proper, defensive instruction. I don't know about the rest of them since they've been in the WNBA for a while. I suppose the coach is responsible for more than just selecting which players are on the court and I wonder what in the world they do in practice if they're not learning the nuances of the game.

If you listen closely to Caitlin, you can read between the lines and tell that she is criticizing the coach and her teammates. She does it so eloquently that it doesn't sound like it but she is. Clark seems like she has better basketball IQ then Sides or really anyone else on the team. Either that, or she is being sabotaged. Its hard to believe that players and coaches are this incompetent at this level.

Good catch. Yeah CC is a master manipulator. With that said CC's D is not good. She cheats a lot and takes short cuts. Elite scorers are generally not great 2 way players but CC has to play respectable D. She will make splash plays by getting steals and some blocks but those plays make up such a small amount of possessions a team gets. She needs to play consistent steady D.

Until they play better D and start to gel on offense they will go nowhere. They also overpay for less than stellar talent in free agency. Their roster construction is poor. They will win some games cause they have talent but they won't beat the better teams. They need 1 of the veteran bigs.

5:55 misses a layup 6 inches away from the rim, everyone stands around with their hands in their pockets. Follow up with an uncontested 2nd shot. This is the most competitive league in the world?

Sides is incompetent! She should have been fired 7 games ago. She is ruining CC's career.

Exactly! As a former college coach we always had double screens, especially on inbounds plays on the baseline that always gave our shooters looks. It's not science rocket. (A guy told me that once and I couldn't resist. It's priceless)

A big setting your off ball screen negates speed as the fast defender will either be screened or if they switch a slower defender is now on Clark.

He didn’t even include the completely blown assignment where they let the Seattle player drive directly to the basket- or any of the Indiana offense, where the Fever seemingly could not figure out how to take advantage of Seattle leaving the middle of the floor open and hedging the defense toward Clark every time she had it in the second half. So, I am basically saying he could have been a lot meaner. Score was closer than the game was.

Every Fever player should just conserve energy and never run to the opponent's end of the court. Just send ONE player back there to inbound the ball.

Well stated! No adjustments from this coaching staff from the start. It’s horrendous. I knew going in Clark was deficient on defense and needed good defenders around her and needed to improve that part of her game. This team is slow footed and smaller than most other teams. Coaching staff has failed to teach sound defensive principles and now they released the one girl from Ohio State who could play on the defensive end. I’ve noticed many WNBA players not to good on the defense as well. WNBA product leaves a lot to be desired. I guess they are happy with the “ physicality” of the league.

And they had the nerve to just release before the game the back-to-back DPOY in college who they just drafted in the 2nd round and hardly gave any playing time to, in order to make room for a 31 year old center who hadn't played in the WNBA in 2 years and is currently injured 🤦🏿‍♂️

You sound like me when I’m coaching AAU. To me, it seems like they’re playing AAU defense. Nobody wants to stick to the basic fundamentals. When I watch the games, I’m saying the same things you are. It can be hard to watch sometimes because we all see it developing right in front of our eyes and know what they should do but then they don’t. Hey, I love your channel man. Keep doing your thing. In order to find that low of a salary in the NCAA, you have to go to #71 on the salary list, St. Mary's College. No joke. If a coach has talent, there are a lot more open jobs with better pay in college ball and that's just head coaches, there are probably plenty of higher paying assistant jobs there as well.
