*Another update* they ended up testing the siren on the first Tuesday of the month which was yesterday. I overheard on my radio that the siren was giving a lot of issues and activated a second time. I'll check it out on Friday.

Aren't 2001 choppers made of aluminum? It sounds like at the end there that the chopper is rubbing against the stator from corrosion. 0:30 Listen closely. Bearings just don't make that loud of a sound when they fail at low speeds.

Im pretty sure the motor bearings died or its a setting, also how did you find the chopper and stator dimensions for the Screamer and P-15? Ive been wondering.

I've seen advertisements for Screamers, particularly the 7.5 and the 10 HP, and they said it had an 18 inch rotor. Also Advertisements for the allertor said it had a 22 inch rotor. The Howler is a rotational Screamer, and has the samd 18 inch rotor.

Sirens are designed to withstand going off daily. This 2001 for whatever reason has a motor or chopper issue. I know of several places with 2001s that go daily and they've never had problems.

They are designed to run daily if needed however since this 2001 has fubar bearings due to lack of maintenance or a manufacturing error, that's why it's literally falling apart.

According to another comment, a few screws holding the chopper bearings were somewhat loose. The latest video of it I know of, however, was 10 months ago, and it sounded somewhat like a vacuum cleaner, so it's likely busted.

At this point the siren is fubar. It'd be cheaper and more sensable at this point to replace this with a newer one or something more reliable like a refurbished Thunderbolt or a 508

Thunderbolts are way too old, they're not as reliable as they age, but the reason they're still in service is by proper maintenance.

Hurricanes are louder but their blowers are no good, they leak oil a lot, lower their speed by internal damage so I don't think Hurricane are reliable today because Darien recently removed their last Hurricane (May 2021) with an Refurbished ASC T-128 with the same color as the Hurricane
