Dreamcatcher has some very powerful movements, but i think that aespa especially with the drop in the chorus leaves a very memorable performance. Both are amazing in their own wAy.

Black mamba- iconic point choreo, basic hip hop beats meant dance and beats can be timed with ease, choreo outside of the point drop is pretty simple and the dancers stick together far too much. Otherwise choreo leaves spaces for inserting the AI members during the stages. Boca- powerful moves and lyrical choreo which is a dreamcatcher staple, conserved energy for the finale where the dance is pretty intense and Siyeon has an extended high note, actually a pretty hard choreo to do, visual story telling which was the whole theme of the dystopia trilogy. Iconic point choreo. Apples and Bananas. You cannot compare these two because Aespa's general choreo is all about that one moment of "holy shit" in the song where DC's dystopia trilogy is about storytelling and creating visual imagery. Idk how people actually expect people to dance to the EXACT rock beat at all, like, have you ever danced to a rock song that isn't headbanging? DC's choreo can at best be compared to Loona with their mix of flowy and hard hitting choreo and choreo heavy style. At best. Meanwhile Aespa is far closer to Itzy. I could still understand comparing DC's non dystopia choreo with other groups cause it just feels really odd that people genuinely think their dances are "not that great" when they have some of the hardest dances just because of backup dancers in 3 songs.

Like the OG comment said these two choreo's are not even in the same field of dance so to compare them is kind of doing a diservice to both the choreo's and the genre's that they came from. So even though art is subjective, there is an objective motive behind dance. And that is to tell a story(like what DC did) or to wow a crowd with flashy moves and memorable moments(like what Aespa did). I'm NOT saying that Y'all are wrong because I like Aespa's choreo for this particular reaction better but that's just because I don't really vibe with the DC choreo for this one song only. But I can also say from a technical point DC's choreo was overall better.

Dreamcatcher has harder choreo in general so may be show other dance practice but very few female groups are know for their dance gfriend dreamcatcher everglow itzy twice these groups go hard

Honestly I liked dreamcatcher better because it seemed more full. Aespa had the memorable chorus but I didn't really like the dance move after that. Anyways overall they were both good in different ways.

AESPA choreo is not design for live vocal...they gone for cool dance choreo easy for ppl to learn and imitate. BOCA is design for big stage performance and all the movement and choreo are sync to the lyric and song aesthetic... Dreamcatcher first two debut songs we're concentrate on choreo rather than choreo.

this was an interesting choice - to put choreos like this up against one another. i personally like dc's dance more, but i understand why some do prefer aespa's. if you're going to react to any other choreos by dc, i would maybe recommend 'wind blows' :) if you've already done it or don't take requests then i hope you have a good day !

both are great. both are great Dreamcatcher deserves more popularity than it is now. While aespa focuses on the dance itself, Dreamcatcher's choreography is like a musical. Dreamcatcher deserves more popularity than now.

I look at kpop choreo like this: Aespas choreo vs dreamcatchers in a performance aspect watching them in concert..id chose dreamcatcher. Aespas choreo couldnt fill a stage!

Had they started the argument with "dreamcatcher giving more performance than dance choreography" then it would've probably reduced the tension. I do agree with that, BOCA is a stage song.

the power drop is what makes black mamba, but the other moves are a little awkward (for me) like the one dude said, boca has a better dance overall, BUTTTTT i have to go with black mamba because its so memorable and the shock factor is there

Id also like to point out that dreamcatcher did an 8 count choreo to a guitar rift! That in itself is better than that prowl drop aespa did! Thats my opinion!

For me the big difference between the two choreo's is the 'intention' of the choreo. Black Mamba is an excellent dance for the song from a technical and musicality standpoint - that quick drop into the lunge was fantastic. BOCA, I think, is more of a storytelling choreography where the elements and the pictures they make with the props and back-up dancers directly relate to the lyrics and the concept of the song instead of constant high energy focus. Each is excellent in their own way.

I think ODD EYE would've been a better choice than BOCA. Still...I enjoyed both, I think people don't realise, the more there is, the harder it is for sync dancing, thats why theres only a few groups that succeeds in this area, namely, TWICE, G-FRIEND for example. Dreamcatcher are not known for great syncing, because each part has their own "story". This is where their vocals excels, more so than Aespa.

well for non-dancers it's all personal opinion anyways. aespa's choreo is very low difficulty. synchronization is the easiest part of choreos. matching textures, executing mirroring and cannons is a lot harder. why do you think olympic dives with clean entries can get lower overall scores than ones that are a little off? sure that aespa drop looks cool but is and easy move. and it's not always about going hard. ask any dancer, it's much harder to execute slower choreo and match texturing. so is it better to just have an easy choreo and look good performing? probably so given the target audience.

Your first statement said it all… “all personal opinion”… I’ve seen dancers react to both videos and give both credit for difficulty. I would never say synchronization is “the easy part” cause a lot of groups can’t even get that right lol.. I think both dances were dope in their own right but you’re gonna to gravitate towards what you like more

"Synchronization is the easy part" but there were points where DC wasn't even synchronized? I think trying to downplay being crisp and precise is ridiculous on the face of it. Nobody is talking about the musicality of the moves the fact that there are points where the focused vocalist isn't even dancing while the background dancers do the work. End of the day IT IS a matter of preference, but to say precision is the easiest part means alot of groups are doing it wrong. 🤷🏾‍♂️

@@R3dRum215 people confuse synchronization with various techniques dc is using. not everyone is doing the same thing. they are using mirroring and staggered formations. a lot of the choreo is using cannons. being in sync is just having everyone start and end on the same count. that is easy especially if everyone is doing the exact same move at the same time. it's much harder to match the texturing they are adding as another layer on top other elements. also just because the beat goes hard doesn't mean the dancing has to go hard. that comes down to artistic preference. dreamcatcher's choreo often goes opposite of the beat which adds another dimension. so yes in the end it's just personal preference, but it's a bit annoying to see comments that are off base as it pertains to dance techniques. there are lots of groups with high choreo difficulty. aespa isn't it.

@@ivyshy98 Maybe some people do confuse I however am not one of them. So off beat or on beat synchronization is still the same. Mirroring and staggering have nothing to do with synchronization. Thats visual layering and textures. Thats not what we were talking about. We understand there are iso's (Normally the artist dances in those Iso's not kinda stand there with background dancers going off). The issue is when everyone is clearly assigned to do the same move, arm swing, turn step, and they are off. Thats the issue. 🤷🏾‍♂️

I will have to go with DC because I was kept engaged throughout the song, great storytelling, and great use of space. Aespa was very clean and synchronized but it did not keep me engaged for very long. I have listened to Kpop since 2009 so for ME Aespa's "drop" was more of a throwback to their senior girl group Girls Generation: The Boys kzread.info/dash/bejne/hJ-ixtVwlqyrdto.html&ab_channel=mirrorHD at minute 2:32 It's probably me being biased because everytime I see that "drop" I can only think of GG. 🤷‍♀🤷‍♀

Same. As a fan of Kpop since 2010 for me it was more like a throwback to SNSD so it didn't feel too impactful but I know it has a lot to do with that other experience I had with The Boys choreo. I really like Black Mamba (the song), it is my favorite song from Aespa so far. I still prefer Dreamcatcher though. The choreography with the lyrics and props makes everything more interesting for me as they focus on creating a whole performance, especially with the Dystopia trilogy and the message they want to convey.

Thanks for the reaction! I think you guys would really enjoy “Bad Boy” by Red Velvet if you haven’t checked it out already, it has somewhat of a similar subtle, sexy vibe.

Cause they create loyal fandom not fans who will drop them off once the going gets thought. Also dreamcatcher is known for live singing, and their dances show how smart they prepare for that. SM never lets their artists sing live so the choreo is not made for live singing.

I think that after watching many choreos for years , one can reach a point in which agressive movements like black mamba choreo bores you a bit, yes they are strong, the drop, etc, (and that was a move from an SNSD song) and there were some awkward movements as well, in this case i'll go with DC's Boca, like that dude at the left said, overall it's more pleasant to watch, it's a mixture of elegant , sexy and powerful movements and not oversaturating with the powerful ones as i felt a bit with black mamba. And seems a bit more creative

Their music styles are very different, so it seems too much to compare.

It's for sure all the way to aespa - Black Mamba, most of the reason point that another party gives, in the beginning, is just speak more to give it point to Black Mamba. The synchronization, without backup dancers, looks at the whole thingy, clean moves, etc. Don't get me wrong I love Dreamcatcher, but Boca is not their best. If someone asks me, are you blown away with the Black Mamba choreography? I would answer YES, THAT'S ICONIC (especially the DROPS). Thanks, Redemption 46 for reacting to these dance practices.

Damn ngl I remember learning boca and it took me so lot of time and whenever I dance to it it always made me tired and made me wanna give up in the middle- ngl dream catcher always have powerful moves, dream catcher wins. ❤

Dreamcatcher always great but compared to aespa black mamba it just seems a lot more chaotic and all over the place. Was harder to keep up with all that was going on after watching black mamba

You should’ve do choreo battle for the debut songs tho, to be more fair. But I agree that Aespa should win for this one. 4 of them did the dance without anyone stopping. ❤

aespa blackmamba dance is so clean, precise, execution etc... it's simple choreo but its so clean that for me it's perfect the Boca seems to much going on the props the backup dancer.

I have such a hard time liking girl groups due to their lackluster choreos. The closest I´ve seen any gg do it like the boys are Everglow with First but that´s it. The girls get the hip shakes, arm swaying, lean on the others´ butts choreos over and over.

I generally find Dreamcatchers choreos kinda lacklustre , everyone mentions how it’s storytelling and yada yada but it hardly has any shock factor or really standout parts… I can’t think of a single move that was really eye catching. Aespa choreos might not be the best from a technical perspective or whatever but they definitely are more memorable and fun to look at!
